What do you mean?
If you mean why do we start with 2 Goblins, 1 Orc, 1 baby, and 3 women? With a lot of rooms? That is just how the Demo/Test build works. If you mean anything else, that isn't apparent. We aren't far enough in to have a 'blank' start.
It's also worth noting that this is practically the minimum required to actually see the game's current content. In older versions you could obtain orcs yourself, but those features have been temporarily shelved in the latest version so they could focus on other parts for a bit. It's presumed that these older features will be returning eventually in some form or other.

Ironically, "shelved content" like that is a reason to keep pre-release versions. MBM had it's own share of cut content and it's nearly impossible to find old versions except for 0.1 and 0.7.
Getting a new demo sometime. 0.7, but they mentioned an update to the 0.6.0.4 before it comes out. We will see if that is true.

Without mods? You'll probably die at the end of day 2, since slave girls can't fight and your MC can't replenish whatever monsters you lost fighting on day 1.
With mods, anything goes. You'd need a mod to give you at least a starting shortstack and oni to stand a chance.

No, MC x Human will only produce Humans, so if you only breed with the MC you'll never replenish your monsters and quickly die. If sending women to be bred with someone who isn't the MC makes you uncomfortable, then this entire genre of games is definitely not for you.
It's a proposition of volume as well. MC can only be in one place, so even if you modded things to allow slaves to fight/produce monmusu or monsters, as well as go to minimum sex/birth/growth times. . . it won't end well.
And by that point, whatever you've done locks out at least half the sex animations currently. As McHuman states; if that is a dealbreaker for you, the genre is not for you. If you really want, you can make whatever female sent to the MC as only for them. I've definitely done so in MBM, and it isn't a problem as long as you are smart.
Nah, it is possible to survive without mods. some amount of luck if required but generally, what you need is to set up an s-shape corridor about 3-5 rows and fill it traps, place two towers with goblin archers behind the corridor, an orc to stall them if they get pass the bottleneck and one final tower at the back if the the orc fails. It give enough time for you to prepare for a few days.
Even without the corridor, just spam goblins and the shortstacks
ranged outdoes everything at the moment
