It was normally like comic stories when you was on the producer side and all this stories he put to a game.
I remember at the time of the original game Ariane didn't liked at all the idea of making lesbian scenes.
In the end she gave up cause of the constant requestes from her fans. The protagonist of this game is her own declared self insertion, and from what i can recall she explicitly stated in the original date Ariane game that she had no intention of having sex with another woman.
The frustrating thing for the player character is that the Ariane of the game is literally the dev Ariane Barness. And so these games are idealized situations for her erotic fantasies. Meaning: try to do something she don't like, or try to glance at another girl and is gonna be bad end.

I partially disagree. She have an interesting take cause when she started to make them she didn't know hentai and visual novels. So she came out with a very personal vision of "eroge" game.

Agreed. She does her games like she did the first one, back then it was more like choose your own route with 100 of small decisions, which then lead to very different endings, often bad ones.
She was a pioneer of western story based porn games and many games from that time work like this.
Guys like vdate-games still follow the same basic scheme.
Today we are used to back buttons, lots of saves and generally more forgiving game play, so these games are throwbacks.
They are frustrating, especially until you get to a point where you can avoid most trapfalls, but they are not of itself all bad.

Equally irrelevant is that person's height, weight, age, eye color, hair color, skin color, and gender. Heck, they could be an energy being for all we know. And it wouldn't matter.
What matters is that Ariane Barnes is an early pioneer in this space who influenced and inspired a number of other early pioneers, and, ultimately, lead to where we are now. I will make the claim that we wouldn't be here at all without her contributions.

Besides the contributions from the people from the old AIF community like Goblinboy, you should not neglect your very large contribution to the growth of this genre.
You, my dear and Phreaky, are also one of the pioneers you mentioned, who have ensured that we are where we are. Your Keeley games alone were groundbreaking for their time. Alone the memorys when you had released a new Keeley game on Sharks Lagoon. Sadly it looks like Sharks Lagoon is slowly drying out...
