I added a hack/cheat day 1 save I got fromOutside of completing a 5-star run for additional NG+ points, I've 100%'ed Sengoku Rance on Mangagamer's 1.07 version and here is my save.
This contains:
-Everything in the post game report complete minus 5-star run.
-100% CGs unlocked including variations (only in the Mangagamer version)
-All New Game+ bonuses unlocked.
-Various saves near the end of each route.
If you're not good at this game but want to experience all the content, I recommend playing NG+ with the Takeda and/or One-Eyed House bonus and abusing the permit items that auto-capture territories with 1k troops.
I might try to update this later with a save that has even more NG+ points but don't hold your breath.
Thank you very muchI added a hack/cheat day 1 save I got fromYou must be registered to see the linksto your sengoku rance save at the bottom
This is a INSANE take dog i'm curious as to why you think thisIt's amazing that Rance 01 manages to be worse than the 1989 original.
The card based movement system is much more annoying than just pressing your arrows for where you want to go and exploring the map, the existence of randomly chosen hidden status effect cards that make it so you can no longer determine where rance actually walks doesn't help it be less annoying. This is a INSANE take dog i'm curious as to why you think this
honestly most of those are fair complaints i kinda get it but i'd rather play this game 5 times in a row than play the original Rance 1 once dude that game is ROUGH and UGLYThe card based movement system is much more annoying than just pressing your arrows for where you want to go and exploring the map, the existence of randomly chosen hidden status effect cards that make it so you can no longer determine where rance actually walks doesn't help it be less annoying.
Day and night system that exists solely to gatekeep your progress in dungeons arbitrarily and for the 60 card long remake exclusive hidden dungeon when Rance 1's day and night tied to quest progression was perfectly fine. Given Rance 4 has this issue as well but it will teleport you out to the inn and then teleport you right back to your original spot which probably makes it even more pointless as a mechanic but infinitely less annoying.
Also a really personal issue but I REALLY dislike the fact that rance's silhouette is just taking up the entire left side of the screen at all times and it's unremovable even by hiding textboxes, would've greatly preferred just nothing like the original or character portraits in the text boxes like most other games.
The remake saw that the original completely invalidated combat by giving you the ability to get the 2nd strongest weapons immediately after getting paid by the tavern owner and decided to make up for that by going the completely opposite direction and require decent weapons to cost 10k+ gold, promoting gold grinding in relatively stale combat when the original never did.
Add onto this that the remake doesn't really add anything aside from more characterization for literal nobody characters like the weapon shopkeeper Millie and I guess Menad (though I like Menad and appreciate it since I played 01 directly after playing Kichikuou)
Mildly unrelated and not a reason I dislike the game but when uncensoring the game a few of the CGs just didn't have genitals??? Which I found mildly weird.

I'm not into the porn in Rance in general so the older artstyle probably doesn't affect me as much as it would some. In fact Rance 3 probably has my favorite character portrait of the series that I've played thus far.honestly most of those are fair complaints i kinda get it but i'd rather play this game 5 times in a row than play the original Rance 1 once dude that game is ROUGH and UGLY
Very debatable but (imo) Rance 4 is when the series actually started to get like "good" art in general (even tho Rance 3 has some very ones sometimes)I'm not into the porn in Rance in general so the older artstyle probably doesn't affect me as much as it would some. you go in order starting with the remake (if you want) Rance 01 and Rance 02 but sadly the remake of the 3rd game isn't out in english yet so you're gonna have to play the old one and then you just go forward from theredo i play this in order? or how? please help
play the old timeline and then the new timeline. you can skip or substitute 02 for 2 if you want since it's pretty much the same game just with a graphical overhaul.do i play this in order? or how? please help
1-4.2, then Kichikou, then 5-6, Sengoku, quest, 9, then go back for 01 and 03, if Mangagamer released it by then. After that, you just join us on the eternal wait for 10.do i play this in order? or how? please help
It is not as bad as Star Wars. It is mostly just numerical order, with Kichikou thrown in half way in, since that game is a "what if we end the series now?" game. It used a bunch of plot points that get played with in future games. Sengoku=7, quest=8. 01 and 03 are just remakes that use entirely different gameplay, and are mostly just there to help ease the wait for 10.holy fucking shit what is this star wars????? damnnnnn XD
Personally, I would start with VI or Sengoku, heavily leaning towards VI, (The "New" Timeline) as they are significantly better games than the previous ones and Rance is a more well fleshed out character. If you like VI, then feel free to either go to Sengoku and onward, or start with the originals and play in order. VI is probably tied for the best game in the series (that's translated), and the plot takes place in a country that none of the previous games (with a small exception) touched on so you won't be missing much.do i play this in order? or how? please help
No, you don't need a virtual machine to play 4.1 and 4.2, there's a version you can just straight up download from the alicesoft wiki that allows you to play them without it.Personally, I would start with VI or Sengoku, heavily leaning towards VI, (The "New" Timeline) as they are significantly better games than the previous ones and Rance is a more well fleshed out character. The remakes for 1 and 2 aren't bad, but they aren't really great either. 1 and 2 were Alicesoft's opening moves, not their magnus opus. They're even as remakes (known as 01 and 02) they're dated and straight forward, whereas the rest of the series is known for its ambitious themes, gameplay elements, and a wide cast of interesting characters. 3 is when the games are considered to have gotten "good", but as the above posters mention the remake isn't translated yet and the original is phenomenally dated. IV isn't as dated(no remake for that one) and you need a Virtual Machine to play 4.1 and 4.2, which I don't think anyone expects you to do. Kichikuou (The Fifth "mainline" game in the original timeline) is probably the 1st or 2nd best in the entire series, playing it first makes no sense at all because it's the finale of the "original" timeline.
I didn't play them in order and I don't think that impacted my experience at all. I've replayed each of the new timeline games (except 5D) at least 3 times each and only replayed Kichikuou from the original timeline. If you like strategy games, start with Sengoku. If you like RPGs, start with VI. Order doesn't particularly matter, just have fun with the games.
