Sure @Ayhsel for any relationship you must be willing to "risk" something, coming out of your own comfort zone and let others enter your one. And that is not only true for relationship, but also to quiet a few things. If you don't willing to risk something, you often can't change your circumstance much.
Yet I'm sure that I'm not the only one that don't have problem to spread the wise world, but can't follow their own advise very good. If I would project my beaviour over the whole world, I would say we wouldn't have any of our own problem for long, as we simple would only be arround for another 70 years.
Excuse me sir, but I am talking with all the authority of a certified hypocrite here!
Haha indeed, I know that some steps are hard. What I hate about the cliche of the obviously in love childhood friend (CF from now on) are several things.
1) the obvious part. I don't mind if you are going to create a CF that is clearly in love with MC. But please, don't make MC a dense so of a bitch that is in the only bastard that cannot figure it out, just for plot reason. It is stupid that MC can pretty much assume everybody wants to fuck him and seduce them easily, but when he sees her best friend naked in front of him "by mistake" he in that case "it must have meant something else". I have seen a few games make this realistic, for example Nina's relationship with MC in Love Season is actually quite believable. You can tell they are more than friends, but she never acts like she is head over heels for him, more like she acknowledges their closeness and when the time comes they act like real people that felt into passion and when that is over they are weird about it. Seriously hope that game had more focus. Instead, the usually approach is that the MC will even find justifications for CF to kiss him without meaning anything else.
2) that they only suddenly realize to act when the story starts. Sometimes it is done but jealousy, fear, change and many other reasons, and sometimes it makes kind of sense. But a lot of times is like "you did not do shit before and now you decide to act? You already lost MC, get over it". I know that sometimes you need a push, but many times it feels so unnatural, cause sometimes the story is presented with characters having such a heavy past and nothing happened before, and then a pretty girls just says hi to MC and CF acts like its full World War III and she has been preparing for years. Like, what the fuck?
Anyway, I digress. But no without reason, so before moderators delete my comment know that Laurie applies to this critiques. It is too obvious she is in love with MC. And honestly I love she became a thrall, now she can be honest and feel justified jealousy and act as in MC is her god with an excuse! unlike most CF characters that simply worship MC.
