Yah ignore Bloodlines 2-sigh....
Night Road is the best and multiple playthroughs yield differing results.
Heart of the Forest really disappointed me. Your mileage may vary though.
Coteries and Shadows are both decent to run through once, maybe twice.
Night Road is by far the best though. All text based is the main issue some folks have.. but that is what it is. You will want to turn on the option for Storyteller Mode so you know what is going on with your selections vs skills and such, just as you would in a VTM game.

Actually the images I posted were labeled by their artists as Ereshkigal, the Sumer goddess of the Underworld.
Hel or Hella is indeed different, and yet the same. Almost all religions can trace their origins back to one of the two main cradles of civilization.
Inanna merged into Egypt, Greece and Rome with derivations on her theme, and her sister did as well.
The Sumerians had over 4k gods/goddesses with the most epic moving into other pantheons.
The Indus Valley also produced tons of deities as well.
Regardless, the images I posted were labeled as Ereshkigal. I think that it will be her rather than Tiamat that we get. Tiamat had her name dropped but she is a progenitor of even Inanna in the Sumerian pantheon so...... maybe that means nothing???? or Something?????
Meh- I am sticking with the chief rival of Inanna for now...

I also doubt that we have this kind of story twist. I don't see Likeblondes to be that kind of author/dev.
Also haven't finished Acting Lesson (yet) as I wasn't strong enough for the twist.

Acting Lessons.... yeah I do not recommend playing it. Not even once. Part of why I got a ban for a time over on the DIK forum is because DPC pulled that shit.

While I hated Acting Lessons and will end up despising DIK if he ruins it similarly, both of those are porn games. They are advertised as such and with the exception of the brutality of the twist, they remain that.
Rebirth is a vampire novel. Vampire stories almost always have loss as a part of the basic storyline. So while I personally may not want Laurie or Sharon to die, I can easily see that happening. It is a different setting than AL, and I am not even sure if we did have to pick one, that it would have the same impact of negativity. Would we feel loss? Oh yeah. Would it make sense? Yeah. Did it make sense in AL? NO! (especially if you picked the one trait that should have allowed you to avoid making a choice)

Anyhow, whether we actually have that scenario pop up or not, I have definitely been ruminating on it.......

Yes I did 3 posts, I am naughty lol... But I do not necessarily read all the posts before I reply to one.. perhaps I should... I will make it a priority on next year's New Year's resolutions!

Tiamat goes likely back to that legend the skalds told of the vampire creation myth by another race that Inanna likely is a part of but possibly there under another name, which well may be Tiamat or something else again. VG has quite a few of the attributes of Tiamat, though there is of course also a link between Tiamat and water to take that another way. Well who knows maybe both sisters you propose are a part of Tiamat or were Tiamat once or within game daughters/childe of Tiamat? That is the fun with a story like this, devs can come up with their own twists based on mythology but do not have to stay fully true to it

Just for sure that creation myth those skalds told was not being told for nothing and either Inanna and/or Tiamat will be part of that creator race and the antagonist will likely be as well if Inanna's sister or a member of that race vampires were created to help fight I suspect and that could well be Tiamat as well in the end, she is kind of linked to a war with the other gods after all. Hints are there, where the devs want to take it in the end though is more of a question at the moment.

It's pretty easy to get all three if you follow the walkthrough so I would definitely recommend at least getting/activating them. Now, whether you are going to use them is another thing. Claws are a must if you don't want to be a weakling and they are just too badass not to get. Invisibility is also very useful, although it's barely been used so far, but hopefully that's going to change soon. Whispers is the only one with a downside since it messes with the victims mind in a way, but it still could come in handy even if you are playing a good guy MC.

Ooh, I see it now. Default is astr=0, but it get sets to 1 if you decide to check if she's already "asleep" and try to touch her. It stays at 0 if you choose to leave instead. Thanks for the explanation.

I suspect it's a new counter since this game update (similar to "sharonsavelauriepts" or "laurieslaveorloverpoints"), perhaps for a possible relationship with Astrid. Well, I guessed so in my Mod so far. But of course it could also be a switch 0/1 for this relationship. Well, this will be maybe revealed in future updates, since this variable has not been used in the game otherwise so far.

Yep, it's a little too early to say if its purpose is simply to remember if the player chose to check/touch Astrid, or if it's a new relationship status variable. Given that it's simply called astr I can see why you'd lean towards concluding that it's a new relationship variable. Ayhsel has reason to be hopeful!

I've played Night Road, it's the closest thing to playing VtM without other players, you play as a vampire thatbetrayed their sire and is working as a courier for a prince, lots of choices, from background, type of feeding you prefer, and you have to keep track of blood and hunger

Man I just got around to trying the new update late last night. Only problem was I was just about completely wasted. So when I woke up this morning I was didn't know if I dreamed the sex with Carmen part. Went to work and was wondering all day if I was crazy or not. Played it again and surprisingly I wasn't loosing it. Definitely wasn't expecting that. No more drinking and playing VN's for awhile.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of having every episode as a different game either, but it is what it is. Just open the walkthrough for help and skip through the scenes you have already seen. Good news is you only have to do it once lol.

Powers-
We have used several powers in game if we possess them, and they influence the way the game continues. One of the ways to increase your ladder of power is to develop the 3 powers outlined in the game.

Whispers is probably the power with the most in game impact potential-except for combat situations, but I am betting it could be used there as well.. Whispers is a type of mind control +++++++ and it does not take repeated use to have an impact.

Claws.... ok who doesn't love a little gore and shredding? Definitely going to be important, and like Protean (which this is not) probably has further development to augment the claw ability, though the claws are very powerful.

Invisibility has been used once so far for sure if you had it, and there may be one more chance to use it. Otherwise it has been largely a power we are keeping secret per Sharon's advice.

It is worth it to get the powers. You will need them, that is a guarantee.

We will not ascend to the same power level as the Ancient Vampires. LikesBlondes and Ptolemy have both indicated that we will make a difference but will not be the Apex vampire of the story.

Yes they mentioned Tiamat, and depending on which "genealogy" of the Sumerian gods you pick, Tiamat is either the mother of all the gods including several that are much more powerful than her, or she is left out as something in the nether that is not discussed.

Bloodlines and birth lines do not always match myth with Vampire so it is hard to actually say. I found a lot more ties to Inanna for VG than for Tiamat. I also do not think she is the founder of all vampires, (Sumerian anyway) and I think it is a lot more likely that she is a childe of one of those, or grand childe.

Having Erishkigal as her rival and founder of the Uglies makes a good kind of sense in my brain.

Tiamat, or her legend at least may play a part in this, but note that the MC has similar thoughts and asks about Inanna, not Tiamat. I think that Inanna tidbits were dropped for a reason, and more of a reason than me talking to the guys after doing a lot of mythological reading and research. Side note, I think I may have to take up study of witchcraft and or shamanism soon. My interest level in the occult has spiked as a result of some of the searches and research I have done for this and other thoughts and possible projects. History and myth and the occult all interestingly wind together.
