weeeeell if you read the developers notes from his other game, which I tried to commiserate with him on but because my opinion doesn't fit the narrative it was removed, he has some issues caused by complete and total forced isolation, possibly already present and kept in check by being able to do, well, things. maybe the lockdowns ended so he decided to go outside again instead of sitting at his computer. maybe those issues took a turn for the worse, although I will add that hopefully they did not. I know the extent to which one can go down that road, and hope that it did not lead there. lets all hope he joined a cult or something instead. or started going to the gym again. basically the same thing actually. that was too many hopes. fuck it, good luck sadge. keep your pimp hand strong.
I just hope he’s okay

We used to have chats about mental health and this Covid shit, which is what some don't take into consideration when playing games they just act as if Devs are robots and don't have shit they deal with on their own. I know Sadge loves making games, it's one of the positive things he has going for him in his life, and he also loves going to the gym. Whatever happened I just hope he's safe, that's all that matters. These games aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Well the game was cool and all but this kind of stuff will always happen, just look at TV series. Anyway, another one to move to the Abbandoned favourites folder.

I'd like to ask. if there is a game tagged abandoned. and as a dev, he doesn't care anymore about the games he makes, is it okay if his work is taken over by someone else without the permission of the original creator?

Bit of a gray area. Permission is always ideal, not just for the principle, but if the dev hands over all the assets, that'd save the new project a huge bunch of time. But if the dev is MIA, then that's obviously not an option. Only tricky part is if the original dev ever resurfaces and gives a plausible reason for being out of commission, and wants to resume work.

It's been done before, Urban Demons was a remake of Urban x Life after the original dev disappeared. But that game was built from the ground up with new artwork, just to be safe.

I agree with SecretSal; it is a gray area.

I doubt there is a legal issue if that is what you mean, but it is definitely better to have permission and it would be a lot easier to have access to the original assets in order to continue this project.

Given how early in this vn we actually are, and the amount of time/work that you (or any creator) would have to invest to do a remake without having the original assets, it would probably be better to just do your own thing (even if you use a similar premise to this one).
