I'd like to ask. if there is a game tagged abandoned. and as a dev, he doesn't care anymore about the games he makes, is it okay if his work is taken over by someone else without the permission of the original creator?
I agree with SecretSal; it is a gray area.

I doubt there is a legal issue if that is what you mean, but it is definitely better to have permission and it would be a lot easier to have access to the original assets in order to continue this project.

Given how early in this vn we actually are, and the amount of time/work that you (or any creator) would have to invest to do a remake without having the original assets, it would probably be better to just do your own thing (even if you use a similar premise to this one).

That's risky because the previous dev has ended this game on the demand of Sony. They don't really appreciate porn stuff based upon their products...

Touchy subject, not too long ago someone made a spoof of AWAM, guessing because people were tight about how much of a slow burn the game is. I personally think it’s lame, unless the Dev himself signs off on it I would never support a project like that.

Ethically, I think the answer is still "No." It would be plagiarism regardless since you're taking the original idea of the creator and passing it as your own. Also, considering F95 has general guidelines as to when a game gets marked as abandoned, it may not be the creator's intent to "abandon" the game but put a hiatus on it for their own reasons. In this case, I know sadge kind of disappeared along with their Patreon, but we can't say why.

However, that said and considering the nature of why we're here on this site, I'd argue you are free to do as you wish. Perhaps crediting the original developer's work at least gives some positive intention behind your motive. I'd be prepared for any consequence that may follow by continuing someone else's work, especially without consulting with them first. Good luck!

EDIT: For some reason, additional posts popped out of the blue after I made mine. I had a feeling what Corellian said was the case regarding copyright and Sony, but I wasn't sure. Several games do scape by somehow, and I wasn't sure if this did get caught or not. Like Titty Master said, many people won't support your project, especially if it's not clear if you got permission or not. Think about "Rise of Vruk" which the creator got the permission from the original developer. Even with that permission, lots of people thought KilljoyTRV stole Pupsi's "A Goblin's Tale" initially. It took a couple of months for everyone to be on the same page.

I believe it was just a joke on how the main chick, and general theme of the game, looks like the PlayStation game, The Last of Us.

In my opinion, if you have everything to make a game, do a new one, make it like you want, with what you like. It will be better this way.
I've never understood the reasoning for someone to sponge off of someone else's work, like how uncreative do you have to be in order to follow behind someone's vision. The whole "I'm a fan" thing is a cop out and boring excuse. For instance, every time I told around there's another damn Big Brother game and it's beyond sad at this point. If I'm going to devote my time and energy into making an adult game, it's definitely going to be something of my own creation. Random mini "rant".

I can understand taking someone's assets from a game a making a totally new one, with different characters, personalities etc. But if you're going to take the time to copy and paster everything someone has already done just why not make your own? It's not like several games on here aren't "inspired" by a handful of successful others.
