We've talked a bit about a 'fan revival' in the discord, theres a few of us willing to go over and collab to try to write it but we lack a coder and any form of 3d artist. One guy likes mareena and he's trying to remake that model (orc version) for some fan art, but it hasnt been an easy job

Coding isn't a problem. Models will be very tough to recreate but not impossible, will take a lot of time .but one think you can't recreate is story no matter what .it won't be the same . Every writer has his thought process, finesse and style which is almost impossible to clone .it will be a different story with similar looking renders in the end.
Sad we never get to see what this game could have become.

oh very true, but thats also why we'd agreed we'd need to go over everything he wrote of pick out all the plot points and hint to TRY to keep a similar tone and push the plot in a direction that seemed logical. Its also why we kinda figured no single person should try to tackle that job but ya also dont want a full committee hearing on every plot beat.

As a person who had played this back in it's infancy back when I was still a newbie on this site and slowly learning to browse the tags that I liked , it does sting a bit to see that it has been abandoned and reading that there are passionate members of the community who (hopefully) will carry the torch to continue this game to the finish line does give me some relief. (god has it been that long already? )

I hope wherever the dev is, he would give his blessings for this or comes back to pick up on this gem of a story.

To the guys who are planning to bless this forum with a community update, Thank you and hope t see your endeavors rewarded.

doubtful. it's been 3 yrs since anyone heard from them and even if their patreon is just paused, it doesn't mean they will log on one day and pick up where they left off. a remake would be the only real option at this point and even then, making the right models would take an insane amount of time due to trial and error

sadly 'just walking away' would be very out of character for kyois. He was quite active on his discord for just general BSing and goofin offf. He also regularly did custom renders for his community. Hell he did one for a birthday for me and I am/was just a minor player in his community. Ive said it before in here but, what we do know:
he went for an 'unplugged' vacation with his family and this vacation happened just a bit before covid hit big and lockdowns started. We also know thanks to me talking to patreon support, that someone has to manually pause a patreon each single month.

Maybe if there would be a "lone wolf" dev or a team/group of fans who like Kyois's games including this one (and maybe also similar games like this one) and also know how to properly make games like this, and they could contact Kyois and ask for permission to continue this game (along with all the files the game has and that are needed for modelling and animations etc.) and also ask ideas what Kyois had the last time he planned to progress the game then it would be possible to not to let this game stay abandoned.

IMO this might also work for other great games that were abandoned, i know there are a lot of great games that became abandoned but i hate to see a great game left "hung out to dry"...

Well then i guess there might not be any way to continue this game unless someone would kinda restart it from scratch, knowing how the story went until the last update (but i feel like that would also need the permission of the dev who made it, unless it would be like a kinda remake, im not sure about this).
Also maybe if a kinda remake would be made out of this, it could be continued (from the last update where the original game became abandoned) with the ideas of the dev or dev team (consisting of ppl who are fans of this game) who are making the remake. As to your poionts, yes fan revivals/continuations/remakes happen sometimes when a dev abandons things even if you cant get permission. The best you can do is stop if the original dev comes back and asks you to.

Well then it might be easier to start this from scratch (and then continue it from the last update) as a remake if a remake of an abandoned game doesnt need the original game's dev's permission and since many of you dont think that Kyois will be back at all, or said that Kyois wont be back at all, theres no need to wait for Kyois.

I' didnt check the discord yet but if there are already ppl ready and willing to do everything that is needed (checking the lore, dealing with modelling, animations, coding etc.) for this game to be continued, even as a remake, im very glad and happy about it and i'm sure i'll check out how it will progress.

I saw quite good remakes of some of the games (although it was a long while ago) that later got abandoned, or were made when there was a "too long silence" between 2 updates of an original game, and liked the remakes too, so i bet i'd like the remake of this game too, if and when it will have a first release.
