To many fucking fillers!!! Who gives a shit about military stuff. Give me character driving story! Too many characters, too many plot lines, with one update per month it is hard to remember how to remember how is how. Just tell is Nickola Jensen's daughter, is she fine withe dating Jensen if she is, and if Nickola and Victoria withe share Jansen, finish tat plot line, and start new one.
I mentioned earlier that it won't be until the next episode that we actually reach the halfway point of the story. How many action thriller books or movies give you the entire outcome before halfway through? The entire point of a story like this is the progression, slowly putting things together.
I do understand that you're struggling with this. You haven't quite managed to work out that Jensen himself, and all the weird shit he's dealing with, *
is* 'that military stuff'. Without it, no serum to have survived the encounter with Adam. No Eve to have been there to save him. No super-powers, no pheromones, no story.
You also use the words 'character driving story' [sic] without seeming to actually know what they mean. It means that the characters, (their characteristics, personality and perspectives), themselves drive the story. That means the intimate parts of their story, how they evolve through the various scenes, is what drives it all. It all hinges on understanding their personality and character. Everytime a central character is seen interacting with another, what you are learning about them in that scene, is part of what 'character driven' stories are about.
The reason that we know we are almost halfway through, and that the next episode, the sixth of series 2 takes us to the halfway point is that the whole story was planned out in advance. We shared long ago that looking at the story as a whole, and doing some simple math at what we could realistically put into an episode that takes 6 weeks, we calculated it was going to take 4 series each of 5-6 episodes to complete the whole story. It isn't arbitrary, and is based on both the limits of development time for what we can include, and on direct feedback on how fast we can jump from one plot point to another before people complain or start feeling completely lost.
Now, the outcome of the DNA test that didn't even come up until Episode 4, and the test itself only just happened in Ep 5, will come in Ep 6. Did we tease that just a little? Yes. It is called 'delayed gratification'. It's about stretching the pleasure of anticipation a bit. If you ever get a girlfriend, give it a try, she'll enjoy it.
