Day 4, out the door. Time to jive with Day 5.
This one was more involved and I played with a few moments a bit further since you seemed okay with that. Nothing crazy, I still prefer to focus the most on Grammar, Spelling, Syntax and Flow. Usually these notes get a triple check, but I've only done a double check this time, apologies if there are any errors from me towards the end, but I think I squashed em.

I wonder if it would be out of character for Beth in the film theater scene to remove the condom after Morty went through so much trouble to get one, maybe as a reward (removing it completely during the whole scene or let Morty have some fun without it under the promise of putting it back but instead ends up forgetting.), or simply out of horniness

I've been thinking about this scene as well, mostly trying to decide what the best way/option to lose the condom. I thinking two possible options (for players to pick from), "slip it off" or "try and convince her" (and obviously, leave it on as well). That way player don't have to be "evil" to se the non condom side.

For the moment I'm all caught up on all the other things I working on, so I think I can bang out this scene today. First up some editing and recapture, then I'll get into rewrites and any new images needed for the scene.

Consider how we handle the scene where Tricia is convincing the science teacher to switch lab partners. There are two different approaches, one mild and one extreme, but for plot reasons they both end up successful.

I haven't rewatched this particular Beth scene recently so I forget where exactly this in on the relationship timeline, but maybe the first option (slip it off) allows dialog to skip over Beth analyzing her own feelings or arousal by the idea, while the second option (convince) has Beth admit internally that she wants to do it that way, then you can have one of those moments where Morty offers some totally ridiculous justification but because Beth wants it, she jumps at his reasoning.

You mean just expanded scenes in general? If they require new art, the answer is... maybe? Those take a lot of time and have to be something I'm really passionate about to to. The current "alts" I doing is condom removal, because I found a new script that will let me quickly the modify animations in the Unity game for re-capture (removing/adding condoms in this case).

I have to say that I feel super lucky to have found such an amazing community of people here that not only enjoy my remake, but actively want to contribute to and improve it. I was fairly sure that when I first released the renpy version, it wouldn't get that much attention, and all I'd be doing was adding content from the Unity version as time went on. But the interaction with the passionate people on this forum have driven me to give my all and improve the game as much as I can!

So I think it's been a two way street. I give my all for this project (within my own abilities) and people tend to give back (with their own skills).

Beth is only getting one new condom removal for this update (her punishment event) and I decided to go a more... non shady route with it. It was a tricky scene to work it into (that's what she said), but she won't be scolding you over your actions in that scene.

But yes, if I do condom removal for Beth anywhere else (looks quickly through event list to see if there actually are any other condom Beth scenes currently in the game, because my brain can't remember stuff like that anymore... (anddddd, the scene I just did appears to be the only one left to do for her, so there is no other condom removals for Beth in a past scenes)), or a new scene needs to go into a past day before the part where she scolds you (very unlikely (maybe the mattress stuff if that ever happens?)), I'll update the dialog to reflect it.

As we inch closer to release (maybe, who knows? I think our last info drop from Ferdafs said June? But I'm not holding my breath) I'm still plugging away in the background on stuff... also things... (system wise, this update is fucking massive)

Anyhow, here is the latest (still not final) peek at the new scene selector:

It's got a couple new things since I posted on it the last time, so let me quickly go over them.

First is the big one, hot keys. You can open/close the menu with "w". "q" will scroll the menu to the previous page, while "e" will scroll the menu to the next page. "F1-F9" will jump to that scene. Closing/opening the menu set you back to the current day.

Next up, when using the Day Selector to jump to a specific day, Scene Selector will automatically open so that you can then easily choose a scene if you want.

Additionally, the selector will remain open during skip, so if you like, you can watch it like a "timeline" moving through the game as you go from scene to scene.

Lastly, I added a darkening effect to thumbnails when they are not the active scene, to make the current scene pop a bit more.

Looking forward to getting the new stuff into your hands as soon as I can once the Unity content arrives! Anyhow, that's all for now, back to work...

I've been following this version of the game and this forum since last year. It's actually the one I played before the original. I tried the original and I... Quickly switch back to this one (No offence to the creator of the original. I'm both thankful and surprised he is so chill and has the heart to allow this project to exist while he is still making his game. Most people would shut something like this down fast.). I usually keep my praises to myself because even though I know you are very active with your community and love to hear feedback from the fans, I always feel like I can never really say anything that's already been said a thousand times. Still I can't help myself anymore so I'll say my piece before I sink back into the shadows as a lurker of updates.

This is amazing work. From the scenes right down to the writing. Honestly even though I am a fan of Rick and Morty, I also can't get through any visual novel with poor writing. I appreciate a flare for the dramatic. What I mean by this are tiny things like the use of exclamation marks and capitals in order to enhance the feeling of when someone is excited or shouting, but this game takes it once step further by making the writing smaller when someone is whispering. It's completely not nessessary and some people don't like it, but that's the kind of attention to detail I love and almost never see.

The scenes are another thing I enjoy of course. I know those are mostly ripped from the original but I have to give a shoutout regardless because I mean, they deserve to be. It's great.

A few pages ago you asked everyone who their favorite character was. I'll put my answer in now while I'm typing this. It's 100% Morticia. She's an awesome down to earth character that's very open minded, brave, kicks more ass than even Morty does at times, can stand up for herself but also loves and relies on not only Morty but Summer(s) as well and she plays video games on top of all this (Porn games as well to boot (And she has a Foot Fetish as do I)). I can geniunely see her as the ideal real life girlfriend I could only dream of. The only thing I don't like is her name (I know it's because she's a character from Pocket Mortys and that she is a female Morty) but you're already on top of things and fixing that little detail in the next update so soon I will have literally no more complaints about her.

I can safely say that I'll wait as long as it takes for this game to finish let alone any of the updates to roll out. This project has easily earned a spot on my waiting list. In fact it's up there with a few other games at the top. But I better wrap this up before I start rambling. Please keep up the good work my friend and take all the time you need to finish it. I always keep an eye out for any updates on your current progress you leave for us. And with that, I shall now recede back into the shadows.

I don't want to dwell on this point too long, all I'll say is, this is a pirate site. The likelihood of Ferdafs getting the game "stopped" is very low. Plus, free advertising for them. I have no idea if this game brought more subs to them or not, but I hope it did.

I can safely say that I'll wait as long as it takes for this game to finish let alone any of the updates to roll out. This project has easily earned a spot on my waiting list. In fact it's up there with a few other games at the top. But I better wrap this up before I start rambling. Please keep up the good work my friend and take all the time you need to finish it. My build is mostly "ready to go" (people keep asking me to add stuff while we are waiting, so I am... and I keep messing with things too...) but I don't want to release without new Unity Content. Features and stuff are nice, but players (at least I think so) are mostly here for content. And my small edits don't count.

Until I actually start work on the new unity content, its hard to say what the turnaround time will be. But during this last lull, I have polished some of the processes I use, so hopefully things will be a bit smoother (if not faster).

And since you've been following the game for a while, you've probablly seen that I tend to turn stuff around quickly. As with past updates, my goal is within a week of the Unity release (and leak to this site, which is how I get it...). Won't know for sure until the Unity version arrives.

I first found out about the game because of some random clip on a porn video site in the Toon category (Newgrounds type content was always my thing, loved those Teen Titans porn spoofs). I didn't catch the subtle difference between "A Way Back Home" and "Another Way Home" so I didn't even realize there was a difference. But since Ferdafs' version is paid Patron content, it was always a struggle to find the most recent version. Eventually, I realized the difference, found the F95Zone link, and even though I absolutely hate email registration bullshit in $CURRENT_YEAR, I decided to make an account here so I could hopefully always find an easy link to the last content updates.

Then I realized the developer (NightMirror) was constantly active/posting and just an all around cool guy, so I ended up with a new hobby/obsession, lol

The original creator (Ferdafs) is himself past the point of getting himself shut down by Adult Swim, so that would be a pretty disingenuous move if he did anything. I'm positive the creators of the show know about these porn spoofs. Dan Harmon is the ultimate sweaty Internet nerd. At the same time, he and Justin has never complained about fan-made content on Reddit, YouTube or anywhere else. It's the networks that do the takedowns, and networks have learned that the worst thing they can do sometimes is bring attention to porn spoofs. Hasbro tried that with all the MLP porn came to regret it because for a while all the top results for searching their brand was news of the controversy.

So we're all dancing on the head of a pin when it comes to waiting for the first DMCA strike. For what it's worth, the links to the game itself can easily be changed to torrents because the rest what happens here is first-amendment debate, discussion and parody.
