I know you are very insistent that you do not want to profit from someone else's work, i.e. you refuse to take a dime (also because you don't want to upset the lawyers) but I think you're missing an opportunity within the game itself to put out a call for contributors. Everything in the introduction/credits sounds like a warning that this has to remain a completely private labor of love. But what if you had somewhere with a wishlist/request list so people who want to help and have the required skills can contribute?
There are two big reasons I'm not taking money for this game (neither of them legal ones).
First, the big one, it feels super slimy to take someone elses work (Ferdafs) and profit from it, additionally, if player have to make a choice to give to me or Ferdafs, I would prefer it be Ferdafs, because without more of their game, there will be no more of mine (I've already previously said, when the Unity version concludes, so will this version).
The second reason is that, once I start taking money (even donations with no expectation) this is a job. I am required, expected, demanded, to deliver. Instead of being something I enjoy and want to do, it is now something I HAVE to do.
This is something I've experienced with other aspects of my life, where I was doing something for free and fun, then tried to turn it into a job and ended up despising it.
Does that mean I'll never monetize any project I do moving forward? No. It just means that for now, I want to this stay a hobby and not become another job.
The F95Zone link is not enough, imo, because joining here really fucking sucks. People aren't going to sign up for a porn site on their real email account. But F95 block all disposible email generators (even though age verification laws do not require that) and I never got the confirmation emails to arrive to two of my own domains. I ended up having to make a Gmail just to register here. I really think you should find some easier way of soliciting art content, or at least giving posting your top 10 list of desired improvements somewhere in the game itself. Especially now that PNG substitution is possible, we could have some real upgrades to some of the earlier/more primative artwork.
I have considered an external social location several times (most likely discord), but I already have enough trouble keeping up with F95 as is. At the moment, I can't manage a second one. Maybe in the future at some point.
