The most frustrating part of it is that, almost all of my interactions have ended much the same way. Things are going well, we're making progress, then the person just stops responding. No, "this isn't working" or "I don't have the time" or anything, just abrupt silence, again and again. (and I've spent hours re-re-reading posts to see what (if anything) I said to make them go. Questioning if I pushed them away, or they simply lost interest (I mean, it keeps fucking happening so clearly, "I" must be the problem, right...))

It has been extremely disheartening for me to devote a bunch of time into collabs only to have so many people simply vanish without so much as a goodbye. I try to make it very clear that if things aren't working, it's 100% fine for them to tell me they are done. I won't be mad, no matter how much time I've sunk into something. Just, tell me. But almost fucking no one even bothers with that, they completely stop replying. One day it's: "I can't wait to show you this cool new thing, Night Mirror!" then... never another post, just gone. Leaving me wondering what happened.
I'm a bit late but this part spoke to me so much that I just have to respond to it. I 100% feel for you and know exactly where you are coming from with this because I am currently going through something similar. I play an online game in which I lead a guild. I started this guild in November of 2021, so we are almost 4 years going now. Why did I do this? Because I wanted to, at least once in my life, lead a team of players in a video game. When I first started, never in a million years did I think that it would have ever lasted so long, nor that it would grow so big to the point where we are currently at max capacity. If you had told me I would be in this position 4 years ago, I would have thought you were absolutely insane. But here we are.

However, as you can imagine, being the sole leader of a group of 30 has taken its toll to the point where I almost decided to just nuke the whole team multiple times, but I tell myself I don't want to sacrifice years of work over this. I started off with a few moderators, but they have long since left the game and no one else has ever wanted to take up the mantle, so it's just been me running everything by myself for the past 2 and a half to 3 years now. The routine includes looking after our discord server (I ended up having to make one because members wanted it and the in game chat is atrocious), chasing down and questioning people who have been logged out of the game too long and asking if they even want to play or not (because even though I have asked people multiple times to let me know if they want to leave or not they still don't most of the time), looking for new recruits to replace anyone who leaves or is booted for being too inactive, setting up and planning for team raid parties every week and applying team buffs every week. All by my lonesome. I have developed a system to make things as painless as possible like having a bot to setup optimal times for raid runs and applying team buffs is easy enough, but there is only so much I can realistically do to make it easier. I still have to hunt down inactive players and look for recruits by myself and pray to God they are serious about actually playing and not wasting my time.

So yes, while it's not quite the same, I know how it feels for people to just ghost you out of nowhere and having to deal with the fallout of that. It sucks so freaking much dude. I can tell you with 100% certainty that, after my guild has run its course, I am never ever going to do this again for as long as I live. It was a nice experience, and I am glad I actually got to try it once, but it is not something I ever want to repeat. Ever. So please hang in there Night Mirror. Peeps who haven't really been on your side of the fence will always ask for and expect the world from devs that they respect. I'm sure you already know that fully well, but I just want to let you know that you've already done more than you ever needed too. I mean damn, I would have been satisfied with the game being over but here you are slowly but surely giving us an after story. Something most games these days don't even dream of bothering to do most of the time. I'll always be here waiting for the next update no matter how long it takes and whether it's from you or from Ferdafs.

Just a few more years and it would be possible to give all the characters in the game their original voices =) Hearing Summer being Tsundere while cumming her brains out on Morty's cock would be so hot <3 but now while possible I can not imagine the amount of work it would require.

ok it's somewhat off topic, but.. on your case with a guild and people going ghosty, there's a solution: a deadline. don't log for, say, 3 months, without any contact, and you're set MIA, next step you're out of the guild, one free space for someone interested.

it's ofc more of a hassle with people who first start to add to someone's developing game, and then poof, disappeared, because the dev is then left with something partially done, and the decision to drop it, or finish it on his own. but maybe this deadline thing can somehow be adapted to the situation. no contact within X days, the addition gets shelved, or such.

I already do this. They have a 2-week limit. But it still doesn't change the fact that I have to run the whole team by myself. I still have to constantly look for new people to join and doing this constantly by myself on top of other things is already a pain.

But I'm not trying to make this about me and my problems. I deal with it well enough and if I really can't take it anymore, I am well aware that I can stop at any time. I'm also not asking for help with my issues either. I was simply trying to explain that I have a good idea of how it feels for Night Mirror when he was talking about how it makes him feel when people leave without prior notice. It doesn't matter if it's game development or if it's a guild in a game, the fundamentals are similar, and it never feels good when it happens. So, thanks for the advice, but I been running this show for almost 4 years now. I think I'm good on that front.

It's very doable now, but I have no interest in it.

As brief as I can make it. I'm not comfortable using likeness of real people (visual or voice) in ways they didn't intend. There are enough sound bites from the show for me to give (most) characters "voices" in short responses, sounds, or moans, if I wanted to, even without having to use generative tools to do it. But I don't want to do that.

Alongside my own personal issues with it, there are other possible problems that using music or voices from the show could bring. Sound and music tend to draw lots of unwanted attention in general (way more than fan art). It's one of the many (many) reasons I've been so hesitant on the sound side of this project (that and the absolutely insane amount of work needed to do it).

So, show accurate voices? Never. Not from me at least.

But, if an actress contacted me and wanted to devote her time to record original lines, I'd be onboard with that.

Saludos!

most of the voiced games i encountered, the voicing is not to my liking anyway. further, once you start to fast play scenes (clicking through) everything gets out of synch, which merely adds discomfort for players and makes them disable voices rather sooner than later, which then was lost effort for the dev.
one could buy voice acting, actually, that's money spent then, and i've seen contributes to animations where it made sense, but those weren't games.

methinks those who play without voicing outweigh those who want voicing.
also, i see a scene and the brain just adds in the voices from the show, can barely match that in a multi language environment.

Guys, is it possible to avoid ntr in this game?
hmm you do have some choices at the beginning of a new game, and then again the choice to skip, at every single scene of the game. maybe that doesn't count as avoidable in your view, though, but it's an option to at least not see any scene that isn't to your liking; those scenes will simply be 'jumped past'. there's lots of options to say No to a scene.

I can't think of any scenes where you can't say no to NTR... and all the ones that jump to mind don't just skip but actively give you an alternative i.e. having Triss flirt with rather than blow the principal to get what you want.

Before asking about a tag please check Genre Details!
NTR:
F95Zone only has one tag for NTR and it is defined as the following:
  • Ntr: Designed to cause jealousy by having the romantic interest involved with someone other than the MC.
Unless specifically stated below the only way to not view these scenes is to use either the skip menu or skip button to quickly rush through it. Skipping is NOT avoiding, elements of these scenes may have an impact later (although, at the moment for the most part they don’t). In my personal opinion what NTR there is, is very mild, but as it doesn't bother me at all, your impact may vary. This not an NTR focused game, but it is Rick and Morty, weird shit happens.

Netorare (Girls cheating on the MC, what most people think of as NTR):
  • 6 Scenes of an alternate personality in the MC's body doing sex things with the MC's girls.
    • Only 1 of which I would really consider "NTR". It is skippable with no impact, but no alternate avoiding scene.
  • 1 Avoidable Scene of a girl with a teacher.
  • 1 Scene where one of the girls tries to cheat and gets shot down.
  • 6 Scenes where one of the MCs girls forces another to lick her (MC peeks in on two of the scenes).
Netorase (Willing Cuckolding)/Netori (Forced Cuckolding):
  • At least 4 of the girls Beth (with Jerry), Jessica (with Brad), Keara (Jerry again), and Summer (with Ethan, who specifically wants to be a Cuck) are in another relationship while also involved with the MC. You can both force and have consensual sex with most of them.
Sharing:
  • 4 Scenes where a girl is in a group situation with other characters and the MC. In 2 of those scenes you can take a path to avoid the sharing.
This is a weird game, and defining what tags certain things fall under has been... a challenge. I would say specifically where NTR is concerned, unless you are very sensitive to it, it's very, very mild in this game. Most of the complaints I've seen over it are people looking for and being disappointed with the lack of it.

And as previous posters have said, they all have skip options (that is you the player opting not to view them, not the character avoiding them (although, none really have an impact in other scenes, so if you skip them, they pretty much didn't happen)), and some even have alternate scenes.

If you play with spoiler tags on, you'll be warned when they are coming up, and can choose not to view them.

If I download the new update I should still have all my original saves and character choices in the new download correct? Or are they all gonna be wiped.

Renpy saves are external to the game files (on PC at least), so even if you delete the game (or download a new version), the saves will remain. Saves should be compatible between game version, mostly.

Sometimes I'll change something (not intentionally) that makes a save location incompatible, causing a "no place to rollback" error. I do my best not mess up saves, because I know that is really frustrating, but it does happen sometimes.

Keeping a few different saves throughout the game will help if this happens. But also, I've put in quick ways to restore progress if needed. Both the Day Selector (and scene selector) and Do Over menus can get you back to just about any game state in a minute or so.

Status Report August 2025:
Once again, it is time for a status report on the project. But what's this?! August isn't over you say? And for some reason you use my status reports on this project to track the passage of time, and now you think it's September?! (or, you're reading this in September (or much later), and this joke doesn't make any sense).

Well, that's because this update isn't the usual "OH FUCK! Its the end of the month already and I haven't done anything! I better post about sitting on my ass all day and not working on the project, again..." sort of post. This is an actual progress report, with actual milestones in it!

So what major milestone did I hit that warrants a status post a whole five days before months end, you might ask out loud to your screen? First, I can't hear you through the screen, you need to use those key things instead. Second blocking is all done! Yeah! All the characters are in, all the temp art- wait, hold on... I'm looking at my artwork folder and whats this, holy shit! All the main art elements are also done?!

That's right, as of today, I've finished all the major art elements for the epilogue! Roughly around 60~ish "new" (existing elements repurposed) things I had "make" (trace). These range from backgrounds, to characters (preg bellies), to full art images, to animations.

Again, temper your expectations here. There is little art that is "new". It is mainly composed of re-posing (swapping heads of) existing images, because that's the best I can do. It does include some animations (all in-game, no movie files), which I tried in sort of a new way, and worked (from a technical perspective, I'm not good at drawing, why would you think I'd be good at animating) surprisingly well.

So, great, whatever, it's done right? When can we have update?! GIVE EPILOGUE!!!

No, it is still not done. I have a lot more work to put in before it's ready, but it is WAY closer to being finished. The main art elements have been created, but they both need additional touch-ups and are not posed (they have no eyes! or mouths, or eyebrows... just blank faces). Also, as I do the pose work I'm sure I'll find that I need extra hands/arms/penises/whatevers to make things work the way I want, so, I'm sure there is still more drawing on the horizon for me.

Which brings us to the only thing you really care about: fucking when? WHEN?!!? And my answer is... soon(tm) ;D

As always, thanks for being awesome!
