Status Report August 2025:
Once again, it is time for a status report on the project. But what's this?! August isn't over you say? And for some reason you use my status reports on this project to track the passage of time, and now you think it's September?! (or, you're reading this in September (or much later), and this joke doesn't make any sense).

Well, that's because this update isn't the usual "OH FUCK! Its the end of the month already and I haven't done anything! I better post about sitting on my ass all day and not working on the project, again..." sort of post. This is an actual progress report, with actual milestones in it!

So what major milestone did I hit that warrants a status post a whole five days before months end, you might ask out loud to your screen? First, I can't hear you through the screen, you need to use those key things instead. Second blocking is all done! Yeah! All the characters are in, all the temp art- wait, hold on... I'm looking at my artwork folder and whats this, holy shit! All the main art elements are also done?!

That's right, as of today, I've finished all the major art elements for the epilogue! Roughly around 60~ish "new" (existing elements repurposed) things I had "make" (trace). These range from backgrounds, to characters (preg bellies), to full art images, to animations.

Again, temper your expectations here. There is little art that is "new". It is mainly composed of re-posing (swapping heads of) existing images, because that's the best I can do. It does include some animations (all in-game, no movie files), which I tried in sort of a new way, and worked (from a technical perspective, I'm not good at drawing, why would you think I'd be good at animating) surprisingly well.


So, great, whatever, it's done right? When can we have update?! GIVE EPILOGUE!!!

No, it is still not done. I have a lot more work to put in before it's ready, but it is WAY closer to being finished. The main art elements have been created, but they both need additional touch-ups and are not posed (they have no eyes! or mouths, or eyebrows... just blank faces). Also, as I do the pose work I'm sure I'll find that I need extra hands/arms/penises/whatevers to make things work the way I want, so, I'm sure there is still more drawing on the horizon for me.


Which brings us to the only thing you really care about: fucking when? WHEN?!!? And my answer is... soon(tm) ;D

..that part about extra penissens made me chuckle. took a few seconds to hook it into context, so much for fast reading.
You know, when I first started on this project, I never thought I would spend hours of my day drawing boobs, butts, balls, penises, or pussies (although, honestly, fucking hands are still my true enemy). Yet, here we are, years later, and I've devoted way more time to drawing junk (literally) than I ever thought I would. I mean, it's a pron game, what did I expect?

But, until I was actually working with the assets directly, it simply never occurred to me just how many penises Ferdafs had to draw for this game. I mean, obviously they didn't just pop out of thin air, but until you are balls deep in penises, it just doesn't really hit you (in the face).

Anyhow, additional penises were needed for the new Morty model update needed for the epilogue:

Nightmirror will there be new "endings" if the unity project gets updated past the nm epilogue or will it be officially completed in your eyes?
I'm not sure I fully understand the question. I'm guessing that you mean if Ferdafs implements something that makes the ending/epilogue incompatible? He can't really get past it...

This is the inherit risk of writing future story, and why I tied not to do it for so long. But, we are where we are.

My main goal is to change as little as possible in the ending. Mainly, I'll adjust as many conflicts (that I can) in new content from Ferdafs when it comes up. Only as a last resort will I make any major ending changes. If some day we get an ending from Ferdafs, I'll most likely make it is own path/choice.

But that's all future stuff I can only speculate on. Who knows what if any additional content is coming. As I've said before though, I enjoy porting things, so I plan to keep adding Ferdafs content as long as we keep getting it.

As to more anything from me. The epilogue is the last major content I plan to make for the game for a long while, possibly ever again. Certainly not another ending.

Having a blast playing through this and the original. Only wish is that the sex scenes had controls like Kaiju Princess or similar eroge games. But seeing how many scenes are in this game... :LOL: probably an impossible task. Still... amazing work!

It's... done?* Technically (the best kind of done), I've now put in the last pose (and did a quick skip through looking for "ERROR YOU BROKE IT ALL", messages (and only had a few dozen I had to fix)). But yes, it's done, I put it all together with my blood, sweat, tears, and other fluids.

So, now to answer the burning question you've all been waiting for: how many penises did I have to draw? In truth, a bunch more than I wanted, but not as many as I needed. Every image I came to just cried out for at least one, even two, more penises then the one before. And that got me thinking, was I adding too many penises? Could any project have too many penises? So naturally I put in even more- Wait, you don't care about that? Release date? Really? Fiiiinnnnneeeeeee...


Okay, so, what you really care about: WHEN?

If you don't want to read through the all the "why" below, here is a (skip): (September 30th at the latest, earlier if 4.2 releases (before Sept 30, obviously))

As always, this one is~ tricky. Optimally, I'd prefer to release the epilogue with 4.2 (instead of something dumb such as r4.1e). If we were lucky, 4.2 would come out this month! I don't know about you, but I've not been feeling "lucky" as of late.

Since Ferdafs has been~ unpredictable for a while now, and we have no insight about the next release window, waiting for 4.2 to come out and only put out the epilogue when it does, doesn't seem reasonable. In the olden times, I would expect an update somewhere in this month, but now, who knows. It could be this time next year, or never, I mean, that's why the ending even exists... I can hold onto that hopium, but can't depend on it.

So, here is the current plan. While everything is in the game, and it "plays" I wouldn't call it "finished". Yes, I've been over the dialogue a BUNCH of times (so... so many times) as just text, but I still haven't played it with content. If this was a normal update, I'd review it maybe 3-5 more times, looking for minor mistakes, or errors, and bam, up it would go.

But this isn't a normal update. It's the Epilogue. The final large piece of content I intend to make for this project. The final chapter of the game. Something players have impossibly high hopes for that I can never possibly reach... (so yes, it is stressing me the fuck out (but also, people gonna hate it no matter what, so maybe I just shouldn't care...))

I'd like to polish it until it shines. Additionally, I still need to look for, and correct, pose issues, from minor incorrect or missing expressions to eyes expoloding out of peoples heads (yes, that's happened, no it isn't as gursome as you think, it's just eye dots in the wrong place).

I also just want some breathing time (yes, haha, I know, "more time" on something that has lingered in hell for 9 months) between content reviews, so I can look at it with as fresh eyes as I can. This project has been just me for a while now with no one I can bonce anything off of, or get second opionions from, and it is easy to get trapped in my own spiral of doubt. Is the epilogue any good? Fuck man, I don't know. Right now it doesn't feel like it is. And I honestly can't tell if it's garabage or not.


Which at last (unless you used the skip to peek ahead) brings us to: WHEN. When is it coming out. At the latest, the end of the month is my hard deadline September 30th. I'll have a full build made and uploaded the day before, and flip it live whenever I roll out of bed the next day.

But, it might also be sooner. In the incredibly unlikely event Ferdafs puts out 4.2 in September (obviously, before the 30th), then the epilogue will integrate into 4.2, and take the normal~ish amount of turn around time (a few days). Don't hold your breath on this one.


Anyhow, I'm off to play-re-play-re-re-re-re-re-re-play until every hole in my body bleeds, trying to make it the best I can.

have to ask - did you add pregnancy to the epilogue (because that was always the awnser when you where asked about it before?)

Well, I basically went into detail in the review I just posted, so I’ll keep it brief here: this is without a doubt the best version of this game. You’re amazing, Night Mirror, and the work you’ve done here is truly admirable. When there’s love for a project, it really shows—and it shows a lot.
Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

To address a few questions from your review:

I'm not sure how much of your own effort went into the base game...
It's not an easy thing to quantify. 90% of the art and writing in this game is from Ferdafs. I've made edits (lots of them) to both art and words (and as you played in Spanish, I can't say how much has changed again through translation). How much is different from the Unity game? I have no idea. Lots of it.


...you've put in work that’s almost on par with being the original author.
Hard to say, I don't know how much time Ferdafs works on the game, but I can give you my rough time estimate for how much I've spent on this.

I've been working on this project for 5 years, on average I spend about 20~ hours a week on it. Some quick monkey math says that is 20*52*5 =~ 5000 hours approximately. Which feels about right (I didn't closely track it, some days are 0 hours, and others (mainly during updates) can be the full 24).


Morticia’s character deserves a lot of credit here
Morticia (by far) has the most changes made to her. I made her less meek and more like Morty (really~ more like Mabel from Gravity Falls, if I'm honest). She also has the most "extra" scenes, as I tried to boost her presence from background (which she very much is in the Unity game) to main girl, and I think it worked? She is my favorite both to write and "pose".

At this point, any new stuff (outside the Epilogue (coming soon (tm))) is going to come from Ferdafs. Hopefully we get more.


By the way, have you thought about maybe getting some help with the drawings or the animation for some scenes?
Yes, I've thought about it a lot. However, finding an artist to work long term on the project just hasn't worked out for me. Here is a much longer post about it. But also, I've finished drawing everything I need for the Epilogue, so I don't need one as much now (again, having one would possibly let me do additional scenes, but also possibly not).

Morticia (by far) has the most changes made to her. I made her less meek and more like Morty (really~ more like Mabel from Gravity Falls, if I'm honest). She also has the most "extra" scenes, as I tried to boost her presence from background (which she very much is in the Unity game) to main girl, and I think it worked? She is my favorite both to write and "pose".
Which was the correct decision, she was in a similar position as Morty so making her more confident as he grew more confident was the logical choice since a lot of this story runs off porn logic and she is as much of a perv as Morty is.

I like everything you did, the only thing I would have leaned in to more heavily is her being "enhanced" like Morty was, her tits and ass should have been much bigger by the end of story (effects of the devil app). I feel like Morticia would be the type to want Tricia level tits.

This is sort of eluded to (during Space Xmas, when Morticia is talking about the gift she got for Morty), with Morty saying he noticed her breast have gotten bigger (due to the devil's app). It's not a major plot element (too much else going on in the ending to give it more time), and the artwork doesn't reflect it (sizes for everything are all over the place already). But yes, like Morty, her assets too are "enhancing" due to her use of the Devil's app.

Early on I did consider giving her a breast size setting (small, med, large)... but, uh, she has more than 1000 images that would need to be modified, as well as alternate animations, and as I said above, the art is already inconsistent with sizes on stuff.

In the end it was just too big an undertaking (although a few people have asked if they could give it a try in PMs... as of yet, none of them have followed through (or shared their results if they have)).

imho Morticia would even do better if she had a little less rack from the get-go, that way the impact of her secretly fiddling with that app could be more noticeable.
compared to the show, all of them females in both games are boobed-up anyway. i know i know, it's a giant stack of work to create inbetween sizes for maybe 10~20 stages of growth for just one character. easily another 1k hours to fit it all in. don't do that! hehe. :whistle:
