I'm not really up to date with Patreon’s current policies, and I tend to be cautious about second-hand claims made by a few people. At this point, it feels more like a vague possibility than anything concrete.

As long as Patreon isn’t putting any direct pressure on the developer or doesn’t have any real leverage to force him to act against modders he’s not affiliated with, I don’t see much reason for anything to change.

I assume the modders share that kind of script either here or on third-party platforms that are not connected to Patreon.

I'm not an expert in legal matters, so I can’t give a definitive opinion on this either. I guess only Jestur and the person maintaining the multimod would really be able to answer that.
Its been awhile since those second claims started but they have been around for years at this point, and devs who had unofficial patches have also had their stuff nuked I just dont know if there was ever a specific "this is for breaking incest rule via patch" or if that was just the most obvious/only apparent one, it could also be that it was somehow shown to be made by the dev or any number of things that the public was made aware of. However as far as I know patreon doesnt always(?) put pressure/ask for the offending material to be removed and they seemingly straight up nuke the whole creator.

As for the multimod dropping the incest it could be dropped for whatever reason the "unoffical" one stopped being supported for example if "Jestur" "asked" the mystery patch maker to stop jestur could also ask the multimod person to not include the incest over fears of losing income regardless of how justified.

There is a reason/origin even vanilla incest (even if you have to patch them) games are more often found on other platforms and if they arent the first comments are almost always "gonna get nuked"

Obviously this only matter "if" multiuple things are true and its unlikey to matter until update after next as MC is still 20 years away from being able to commit incest even with the patch :KEK:

I don't believe patreon would nuke a creator based on assumptions since if they do that they can get also legal troubles later, there must be always some kind of strong enough evidence linking a patch maker to the creator of the content itself or like some games I played before that left code in the game to be activated with a patch (easily spotted with URM and I always use it) and some of those are still active on patreon anyway but it is still a "rookie" mistake.

For sure patreon monitors sites like this (not that Jestur should be worried about it since I never saw them interacting here since the first day I started following this thread) and the creators ways of communication/social media like Discord and alike, if they do that is too get evidence to avoid legal troubles that can appear later if the claim has poor evidence or no evidence at all.

Also I really doubt the dev would ask the patch maker or the mod maker to stop doing them, why should they do that anyway? Best course of action is for any developer not having any interaction with patch makers that violate patreon TOS and rules, at least not related to those patch(es).

There is too much speculation (second claims as you mention) and the full stories not told by other developers that had their patreon nuked before, almost sure there was some kind of evidence, when there is smoke there is some fire for sure.

Anyway this topic get me really tired, we just go in circles about it and reaching nowhere and keeps being brought up no idea why and with what intentions, the supposed incest or landlady/roomate interactions are far from being the main focus of Ripples, not even the 2nd main or 3rd main focus.

You're saying exactly what I was thinking. To me, this whole discussion feels like a non-issue, with too many hypothetical situations, mostly based on gossip or second-hand info that's often impossible to verify. We're drifting away from what this thread is really about, which is the game itself, not far-fetched scenarios that don’t actually concern us.

And honestly, if any of those situations were to happen, I trust the dev and the modder to handle it with common sense, and I’m sure Jestur would do whatever he can to protect his game from any potential backlash from Patreon.

With that in mind, I think it’s best we move on. I was already feeling a bit worn out by the idea of replying and keeping a debate going that doesn’t seem all that relevant. Like you said, we’d just end up going in circles. There’s probably more value in focusing on the game itself than in speculating about rumors, isolated cases involving other devs, or going through the same old Patreon debates that tend to all sound the same after a while.

That is a humorous thing to say about a company known for having, on multiple occasions, terminated creators based on made up pretenses or even on just a whim.
Again that is just speculation, on those occasions we only know 1 side version. I didn't made that post for humor or to defend patreon, actually my own opinion is bad about their policies in general (including the incest one) and the way they act but I still can't say on each of those "multiple occasions" where the truth lies and what evidence they have simply because they won't share it to the "public" and they don't have to, it is a matter between those 2 parties.

It is the last post I'll make about it, you can reply whatever you want, just wanted to make it more clear for you where I stand on it.

So, the impression I'm getting from your post is that you're talking about some specific examples, probably related to AVNs, which I'm not talking about at all and I actually don't know much about. But historically, it's not true we've always only had one side of things and let's just say it only made Patreon look even worse.

Do you guys think the next Status update will be shortly before the release, or let's say Jestur give us a status update and say the release will be in 15 days or something?
I would guess that the devlog with release dates would be once the game is ready for the test phase. Can't really remember the pattern on how was made in previous updates, my 50 yo bad memory won't allow me and too lazy to search right now  so yes I would say something like 15 days before I guess.

He normally releases status updates every 2 weeks, and we should've had one last Thursday but we got nothing, so I think we won't be getting another update until release.

From what I can recall from the last update, he just straight up released it to the highest tier members without any announcements.

Please be respectful. Those people made Rome a world power, built the Great Pyramids and discovered fire. One or two of them even might have been part of the Fellowship Of The Ring.
