Is this game actually based on our timeline? Are there any references to that?

In 1999 USB flash drives, if one actually existed, were at most prototype only, which I very much doubt you could connect to a 2019 OS and be straight forward to access. Early USB flash drives, even those actually mass produced from late 2000 on, required special drivers for each model. Available OSes like Windows 98 didn't include a USB mass storage driver.

That and the dreaded T-word (whose discussion was deleted) are major time inconsistencies, but which could be explained if this was a similar timeline but not exactly the same.
'95 didn't. '98 DID. I got a camera around then which came with a shrunken HDD in a CF card. And it worked just fine on '98 with a USB adapter dingus. Still does work although I replaced the HDD with a 1GB CF long ago, and then stopped using the camera altogether bc my phone did the job better. :)

OK, I had '98 SE, and I MAY have DL'd a generic USB storage driver, but nothing specific to the camera or that CF drive.
It worked in Linux too. Even then.

If you're referring to the USB drives found in the safe, they wound have been made circa 2009 (around the time of the power plant accident), not 1999.
The only major inconsistency I've noticed is the 1999 phone – the model we see in game is clearly a Nokia 3310, which came out in 2000.

how about the present ones?
There's no inherent reason why not, though the lack of a pregnancy tag would suggest against it. OTOH, the fact that the game is tracking (some) choices to finish inside suggests that that fact is going to be used in some way. How? Well, pregnancy is the most obvious possibility, but it could also come up in terms of dialogue changes or possibly unlocking different scenes (one way or the other).

True, but I think the tags reflect current content, not future, like Anal tag wasn't there before 0.8, and every time I say this is not a harem game, there's always 2 or 3 guys saying it is even if there's no harem tag.
Anyways hope to see some pregnant bellies in the future :sneaky:

Fair enough--for some games, there are also "planned" tags, but that isn't the case here.

Also, though, if it is the case (as it kind of feels like, though I hope it isn't) that this is MC's last visit to 1999, then everyone he's been with could get pregnant, and (1) we wouldn't see it, because he doesn't go back to see it, and (2) it isn't an incest problem, because we've never met any daughters of those LIs who are of the right age to be MC's daughters. Skylar's the only one whose age fits, but MC hasn't (yet) been with 1999 Luna.
is not a harem game, there's always 2 or 3 guys saying it is even if there's no harem tag.
Strictly, a harem game is one where (1) MC is with all, or at least almost all, the LIs on a long-term basis; (2) all the LIs (at least that he's with) know it; and (3) they're all OK with it--right? So Cosy Cafe is a harem game because the harem is set up (at the instigation of one of the LIs, which is an interesting twist) in such a way that they all know, and get veto power over anyone else (and also because the player doesn't get a choice in the matter). Once in a Lifetime is a harem game because (1) it's in the tags, and (2) it's complete, and we see that these conditions are met (though with very little setup). Eternum is a harem game because it's in the tags, even though the game hasn't yet progressed to the point where the second and third conditions are met.

Here, MC is with just about everyone, but there's no indication as yet that any of them (except one) are any kind of long-term relationship. Jenny definitely would be if he were to stick around. Krystal kind of is, but it's more FWB than a serious relationship. I get the same impression of 1999 Scarlett if MC were to stick around. Darci probably will, eventually, become serious. But the only one that's giving signs of a serious long-term relationship is Skylar. So that's the first condition not met, and given the time issue, impossible to meet.

So, a harem game loosely speaking--in that MC's with lots of girls? Sure. But tags aside, I don't think it really can be. Even if you limit it to the 2019 girls, we've got a long way to go (though it could happen).

I agree with your points, there's also the case of Skylar and Jessica, you can't be with both atm afaik. And on the party you can't see all the scenes, not all lead to sex but think you can only see 2 of 4 scenes, so excluding potencial future LI's maybe?

Some or probably many tags here are used very loosely anyway, I keep seeing sandbox tags in games that barely have sandbox elements and usually is a tag I exclude most of the games with a very few exceptions. There is VNs that just because they have a one or two barely noticed sandbox/point and click/turn based combat/minigames elements and they don't get the VN tag before the game title and then there is games with a lot of those and they get the VN tag.

With harem tag happens the same, there is the "real" harem games that meet the conditions danb35 mentioned and then there is those I call harem-ish games like Ripples that don't meet all the requirements but they also not clearly a solo LI path game or don't even seem like they are or even in the code you don't see a hint that they will be.

So I don't really mind if Ripples get a harem tag later (or that some players consider it to be) since is a way also for people that enjoy "FWB" games or they can maybe create a new tag that is more clear on what the game seems to be so far.

Jestur has said that choice doesn't end either girls route. It just slows down the progress of the one you don't choose. That we'll be able to be on both of their paths eventually.
And maybe lead to a threesome :devilish:
I meant more at the moment, if you chose Jessica you don't have sex with Skylar after her dinner date, and if you chose Skylar I guess you miss the photoshoot with Jessica? (this one not sure I only played Jessica path but assumed it would be like that)

You still get the photoshoot with Jess but she won't get topless at the end. And you can massage Jess at the pool beforehand if you choose her. So choosing Skylar doesn't cause you to miss you very much Jess content right now. Mostly because there isn't much Jess content yet :(

Shit, I was finding myself crazy with the theories going through my head.
The mysterious man is the father of MC
MC's father is the MC itself
Mc is the father of Jenny's lost daughter
But now reading this theory about Jenny being Jackie I'm sure, I'm completely crazy. I am scared how much the dates collide for this theory

Sure, but here's the real question that will tie your brain in knots: What if ALL of those things are true? :D :D
