VN Ren'Py Ripples [v0.8.0 Public] [Jestur]

While I have heard of this game in the previous years, somehow it had always eluded me from playing it for some strange reason.
I decided to finally rectify that on early October when couple of my friends recommended it to me.

So finally all caught up to end of Episode 8, and wow.
Just wow.

I'm really blown away by it (and gotta say, I've been really missing out, not having played this game sooner. But hey, better late never, right? )

The story when I started at a glance kinda reminded me of Netflix German series Dark, but as I delved into more of the story there's just so much original to it, with the time travel lore, and how things are connected.
Some things do get explained, but the story continues to pose questions and curiosity.

Not to mention it knows when to be very serious or grim, but also when to be comedic and wholesome. It somehow always seems to find that right balance without missing a beat in terms of tone.

Also, with the characters, there's great chemistry between MC and other characters.
My favorite LIs I'd say are Jenny & Skylar, but even others like Darci, Krystal, Jessica, Scarlett, Khloe (and others..... list is too long to put them all lol), they each have their own uniqueness and engaging storylines which never got me bored with their arcs.

Hats off to you Jestur for bringing this wonderful story and the characters to life.
Despite being late to it, I enjoyed it so much & I'll be very much looking forward to each update.

While waiting on updates, anyone have any recommendations on other similar titles to play with the same polish in rendering and animations? I'm hooked on this and Eternum. Also liked Being a DIK and Broken Dreamers.

This is the wrong thread to ask because it is against the rules to discuss and/or open advertise other AVNs that are different than the game thread we are in. But do like I do, there is always people with games/suggestions on the signatures that have similar taste than mine, probably you will find other members that seem to have a similar taste than yours .

Edit : I can always send/invite you to a private conversation that I have listed all my Tier S games with a little resume about each of those AVNs, just say it and I invite you. It have some months and the convos there are practically dead anyway and maybe only lacks 2 or 3 new games I added to that list. I have them exactly for this situations.

I agree with this; I've found some of my favorite AVNs by looking at other people's signatures.

Impregnate in late 1999 (Nov/Dec), 9 months before the babies are born (late 2000), 18 years to grow up (2018), add another ~1/2 a year to get to 2019 as their birthdays haven't happened yet. Easy peasy - it's not even porn logic.

Except that it very notably isn't December in game - and, ultimately, probably isn't even November or late October either due to placement of holidays. It's probably September based on general climate and the fact that, for an American town, the three major end-of-year holidays haven't been mentioned at all yet.

Even if it were December 31st on the night we impregnate one or more of the '99 girls, if we assume the standard 9 months' pregnancy that places every younger girl being born around late September. The game begins in late August/early September 2019, when the school year starts. I can't say I recall exactly how much time has passed in 2019 since the day Darci came back to town but if it's been more than a few weeks we'd already have skipped the birthdays of almost every girl in the game if implying they're our daughters was indeed the intention.

Not only would missing those birthdays be kind of a pointless skipping of milestones - birthday celebrations in a game are a great way to focus on a character - but it would also reveal another hole in the logic: all those birthdays would still feature the girls turning 19; in American schooling, this would mean every single one either started a year late or was held back a grade. That's not impossible, but it's highly unlikely.
