I was just thinking about the potential 'ripples' of simply removing people from the main timeline, and shunting them somewhere else. It wouldn't impact the story if a player did or didn't save someone, so from a developer perspective, it's workable, and might have some value down the line.
I'm not entirely sure, but I feel like all of the dead people are missing bodies too. I'll have to do another replay to make sure my theory still stacks up, but in terms of ripples, we've already seen a few potentials (the necklace related one being the big one), so it'd stand to reason we could do something small but relatively inconsequential to the main timeline.
