x2. I never understood that stupidity. The worst thing is that when they do polls, the new characters aren't even popular; the old ones get all the votes. The worst thing is that they add filler content with new characters that only appear 4 or 5 times in the story.

If I had the ability to write porn game scripts, I would make a great game so people could have a good time jerking off :ROFLMAO:

They do it to string people along. They often feel that people will abandon the game if you give them what they really want which is totally not true if the rest of the game doesn't suck copious amounts of ass.

It also could be they think they'll get the interest in the tension of an ambiguous relationship, but this isn't television drama, nor is the writing of most of these games very good, or in at least half of them even fluid english. I think I can actually count on 1 hand the number of VNs that are actually well-written stories of which the nsfw content is just a bonus. For the vast majority of these stories: Shakespeare, they are not.

TL;DR
They think that slowly dripping out the content people want will make them subscribe longer.
