I'm aware, as I've played that game as well and several others with "fan" patches or relationships you can manually define. I also know that the default in the Patreon version of that game is for them not to be blood related, and given the culture they live in in that game, being related doesn't fundamentally alter the story or their romantic relationship with MC as it's just an accepted part of their culture.

It would be a different case with Ripples, as I cannot imagine the 2019 LIs just shrugging off MC being the father without significant dialogue alteration, not to mention the potentially different time-travel mechanics in order to make the ages work. And, as mentioned above, the fact that Jestur has already changed the game once to comply with Patreon is a pretty strong indicator that he's not keen on taking the risk with "fan" patches or relationships you can manually set with in-game settings.

Jestur already changed this to remove incest once because of the Patreon crackdown. I don't see them adding it back in again after doing that. It'd make the initial change pointless. There's a SubStar for this, but even that isn't foolproof because they have the same rules as Patreon. They just haven't been made to enforce them yet by the payment processors. Key word there being yet.

It's entirely possible Jestur just says fuck it and does make the MC the father of some of the '19 girls. But it'd be a huge risk and could potentially cost them a lot of money.

Yep that is the other option I didn't remember since I only play the version that is available here on this site and because I didn't add any patch to modify it, thought was the same version than patreon.

Yep I tried both versions and it works either way. I still think that the incest kink is barely the focus of Ripples even with the efforts of LightmanP modifying some dialogues on his mod, even with it I think that players that only play games with incest will get very disappointed with Ripples and will miss a good time travel story, since it is like 5-10% of the total content so far, or even less.

Those games with "landlady" and "roommate" I have a good solution for it, URM text replacement .

It was removed a few weeks ago, when the old incest patch got removed, but someone complained about it and said he only played because of the incest and the tag went on again, or something like that

Yeah it's true that Jestur could have stuck to their guns and left things as they were, but it would have been risky to do and could have potentially cost em a lot of income. Especially since this game can't be sold on Steam or anywhere else as a product because it's made with Honey Select. Sites like Patreon or SubStar where you pay to support the creator instead of buying a product are the only way to make any money off work on games made with Illusion software.

As far as the tags here go, I don't believe the devs really have any control over that, it's fully in the hands of the mods. I agree it's kind of misleading and probably shouldn't be there. I'd bet that patch existing in a fork of the multimod and some users reporting it missing if it's taken down are the only reasons it is.

That sucks , I am olaying with that incest mod so I guess I have not felt the change . But that change destroys so much emotional connection with the characters . Cant he just let the user decide the relation ship between them like desert stalker and some other games

Well, Tiffany is the one that takes care of you during the game and prior, I don't need the game to call her in any particular way to have a connection with her.

no offense but I think Jestur is kind of getting too scared , There are many workarounds to this rule . Plus this game is not too famous . He could have made a side patch that is not released on patreon . It only takes few line cahnges to scripting . Or let user input their choices . I get the daughter fucking thing being a problem but changing tiffany , jessica and aunt jenny to strangers is kinda low blow . I hope he would have made a poll before taking such a decision , I even subbed to him on patreon for support

I did not say it in that sense . I said in a way that It wont catch eyes of extremist people on social media and it is not available on steam so it wont catch an eye

I think he is right to be, Patreon has had its crusade against this kind of games over the years and if they remove it from their platform he would lose a lot of revenue.

Games with separate patches have been banned by Patreon, so that wouldn't have been a guaranteed way to protect this game from the banhammer.

Game not too famous? This game is currently ranked 77th in adult games on Patreon out of 1k+ creators in that category. Probably a lot more than 1k but that's as high as the search will go. It's been on the front page of top games by all time weighted ranking on this site for years now consistently. This is a game with 2k+ paid supporters on Patreon. That's a lot of eyes on it, any of which might decide to report it for some reason if it still had incest.

Jestur is making 5k+ per month minimum off their Patreon alone, spiking up to 15k+ on release months. Would you risk burning that much money to have incest? I know I sure as fucking hell wouldn't. Not when Tiffany as a family friend and neighbor who took in the MC works just as well for the story.

He didn't change them to strangers, the MC has still known Tiff and Jess his entire life, they were neighbors and close friends.

Yes it is just better to play it safe mainly on honey select games, I would play Ripples just for the story and even if didn't had any sexual content and it could still have a lot of animations, they can be used outside of lewd scenes. Of course I favor this site to play VNs and this is mainly a site with games with adult/sexual content and like 95%+ VNs I played so far are AVNs with it, but there is still great games without sexual content like Steins Gate saga (that are also on this site) that I enjoyed just for the sci-fi genre and actually same sub-genre than Ripples.

Old incest patch?

Till v0.6 used to exist a standalone incest patch, since 0.7 the only way to have incest is through multi-mod, but the patch was still on the op and would break the game when the 0.7 content started so it was obsolete and someone (rightly) asked for it to be removed.
