This isn't an argument about what you can or can't do, it's an argument about whether or not you should do those things, and if being a whiner about it is your prerogative, have at it. There are more constructive ways to make your voice heard than bashing the developer who spends his time working on it.
Dude relax. It's not like Oni even reads this thread. We just come here to discuss our likes and dislikes about the game. Any Oni slander is just light-hearted banter and all in good fun. Oni is pretty much set in his ways and we know he won't change, which can be frustrating at times. But majority of us pirate this game anyway. So no use complaining. We shall remain his enslaved bug testers till the end of this game.

I am relaxed, I asked someone a question and I got two different people snapping at me for it. They need the chill pill, because clearly they feel like they need to be offended for everyone else.

you're going to hate this dog pile but everyone has a right to voice their opinion as this is a "public" forum.

I will also add that just because someone is a _paying supporter_ of something doesn't mean that they have any higher social rank/caste in terms of voicing their opinion. It only means they have done their morally good deed of supporting something they enjoy (which is something we should all do if capable and a totally different subject)

Well before everyone gets their panties in a twist about it, let's just agree, then, that I'm free to voice my opinion about the people voicing their opinion on a public forum. Considering semondemon hasn't responded yet and his response might be a little more restrained, I'll reserve judgement for when people deserve it. All this "discussion" is right now is talk. If someone else wants to make it a fight, that's on them.

When will Oni add this iconic comic moment?
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Oni can't even draw these characters worth a shit anymore so I doubt this scene would ever be added in a decent manner. It's one thing to try to distance yourself somewhat from the source material and give your own spin on things, it's another to forget how to draw entirely. Gwen Poole is ugly and terribly proportioned, this game has been on a downward spiral since the Jean update so much so that I may just end up learning how to draw these characters myself just to prevent my nightmares from getting worse.

Oni used to be one of the top artists out there back in the day, now it just seems he spends a few minutes cloning an existing character's proportions or animations, and then drawing a deformed head and he calls it a day.

We talked about this a few months ago. On average, Oni is earning $7500 a month from Patreon. That works up to around $90000 a year (we'll just say Patreon takes the maximum of 12%, so a little under $80000 a year). From what I understand, Oni is doing the entire game himself, from the art to the coding.

Oni has to do a couple of images a month, so lines of spaghetti coding and he can just sit back for the year and work at a snail's pace.

I wouldn't really care as much if he just put the effort into his art, sure we'd probably still complain about his work ethic, but at least you could say his art was good. Right now I can't say any of this stuff is good. If it wasn't for the hard work of modders like Prime, this game would barely be passable as a game.

That doesn't make it right, and btw, I'm paying too. You're free to ask questions and offer suggestions to a developer when you think it's something that might be good for the game, but you don't really have the right to complain about it if he decides that it's not part of his vision. That's just childish. Live with it or don't, the latter reflects on you, not the dev.
Dude were not talking about consoles here, it's also a free country I'm allowed to be critical of things if I so desire. Don't be a fanboy, don't blindly defend things because I don't care for that type of behaviour.

And what type of behavior is that? You asked for it, he said no... end of story. I'm not blindly defending Oni, I'm suggesting that a little more respect is called for. You can always design your own game with your own time. Otherwise, yours and the complaints of others sound like jealousy (he makes 90k a year and doesn't give me what I want) or laziness (I can't make my own game to jerk off to). Your wallet speaks more than anything you say in this thread. If you don't like it, don't pay for it.

And you answered my question, so this is over with; you're just another nobody looking for a nut. That's all my question to you was meant to be.

You know, this is a somewhat reocurring argument around here; someone bashes Oni for more or less obvious faults regarding his product/working ethic. A person comes saying things like "It's not ok to say bad things about Oni because it's his game" or "you don't have the right to complain if you don't pay for it", but time and time again, those are counterargumented 'til exile.
Let me save you the time to continue this back and forth. The conclusion that's always reached here is as follows:

We can criticize someone regardless of how successful their enterprise might be, due to a lacking product, dishonesty in their communication with their patrons, a clear disregard for opinions voiced in a constructive way AND from a customer, or, as it's more the case, a combination of all of this.

We can also criticize a game we haven't payed for simply because we've played it and thus we are prepared to formulate an opinion on said game, because the very fact that one hasn't invested money on a product does not mean said person loses their rational ability to think (I know you didn't say this, but since both arguments usually appear in tandem, let me take the chance to answer the two).

Not just here, this board is full of this kind of attitude, and it's both tiring and pointless. It wouldn't be so sad if everyone here wasn't just sitting around with their dick in their hand jerking off to free porn on a cunt-hair-away-from-a-pirate-site while they slap their limp wrists furiously on their keyboards about how so-and-so dev doesn't deliver exactly what they want, when they want it.
I may have mistakenly implied it, but nothing, including me, is stopping you from voicing your opinion in whatever way you see fit, but I'm still going to look at that level of disgruntled entitlement over free content with disdain because it lacks both tact and class.
And this conversation wasn't about anything but me poking at semondemon, other people made it about something else and I simply responded against what I feel is an unreasonable attitude towards someone fulfilling their fantasies while getting nothing but bitching from them at the same time.

But hey, it is what it is, and I don't see much point carrying on this conversation any more. No doubt this will not be the last time I see this kind of thing here, I just wanted to say something about it this time. Lucky you.
