Heh, this thread became a warfield while I'm not around. It's just a game, don't be too sensitive about it.

I didn't release the next version yet, so don't judge it already, and if you played previous version and you didn't like it, then why are you even here? I know I cannot please everyone, and I don't want to either because I know it will ruin the game completely if I try to please everyone.

I want to make it clear, there are NTR scenes in the game for sure, but I always give an option to avoid it, because I respect people's tastes (Like defeating Randy and keeping Helen for yourself). But my thinking is that it's not fun without any tension in the game. I remember what happened to 'Big Brother', do you think the game got better after Eric was removed? The game without any tension is just boring. At least that's my thought.

Still .. there is a lot to be said about plot and motivations of characters.

I feel bad for announcing this, everyone, but I decided to stay away from making games for a while. I need some time to heal my mind because of some rude people at F95. As I said a few times earlier, I'm doing this for fun. Nobody will put this amount of effort to earn only about $ 800 a year.

But some mean people attacked me and blamed my game for having possible NTR scenes in the monthly status update, it became not fun to me anymore.

Because I wanted to make an ero-game you never saw somewhere else before, I put a lot of time and effort in this project, so I don't want to abandon it.

It's not about you guys, I was always happy to have a really nice people around here. I'll come back if I think I'm ready to write stories again. It won't take too long, and I promise I'll come back with fresh new ideas and better game.

"...remove romance." This is a classic strawman fallacy. Creating an argument that didn't exist, then blaming your opponent for it. Not only is "romance" a completely subjective term and subject to different interpretations, but in this case no one said anything about removing it, especially in light of optional content. Please, if you're going to argue a point, make the point valid.

Mobum...as I have related to other devs who have undergone this same scenario, I would advise you to create the game ars gratia artis . You will never satisfy everyone, so make the game that pleases you. This site is inundated with mediocrity. Hundreds of what I call harem-cest games that are poorly written but do reasonably well financially. Make that game if you so choose, but whichever you choose be proud of the creative process.

In all seriousness, I've been trying not to comment here, but I now feel a need to clear the air and dispel a few misconceptions as quite a few of you have gotten yourselves in a tizzy:

1. I'm a fan of Mobum's work. ASD was brilliant and RP is even more amazing in so many ways. He's had elements of NTR in both, but he's always been very careful to allow players to opt out. This is a policy that he has no intent to abandon, and is something he's been very clear about. I don't think he should abandon that policy at all.
2. My involvement in the project is mostly a chance for me to learn from a master, pitch a few ideas, be a sounding board, and maybe do a little proof-reading. It's always good to have a second set of eyes on anything you write, and that's pretty much what I figured I'd be. If possible, I might write a conversation or two. And that's about all that I have time for.
3. The list of ideas that I pitched on Patreon were merely half-cooked suggestions. They were essentially jokes. I was farting around when I wrote that. (Erotic story elements based on Chaucer? And some of you are taking that seriously?) Some of you seem legitimately worried that those suggestions are the game plan for the next installment. That's not the case at all. Mobum has a vision for the rest of the game that was firmly sketched out long before I wrote that list. His vision is not NTR-focused, so if you have allergies to NTR, you don't worry about that.
4. It's totally OK if you're not into NTR. If you play RP and discover it's not your thing, it's OK to move on. That's what 99% of players do when they play a game with a kink they don't care for. But if you encounter something in an ero-game that you don't like (such as NTR) and you react to it by squealing and whining, the most you accomplish is convincing the silent majority that you are an emotionally-frail weakling who's been cucked super-hard in real life, and are in serious need of therapy. I'm really sorry that happened to you, and I sincerely hope you find a caring and safe social support structure to help you recover from the trauma.

Maybe the silent majority should not be silent anymore. Let's all write our support down here to silence the people who are willing to do wrong. To Mobum: I respect your decision and I really hope it will not take too long! But stay to yourself and don't start again too early, as your work might be of lower level if you do. Try to find the fun in it again! We all have to wait, but I'm sure the outcome will even be better.

Hate as you call it goes both ways, for every instance of anti ntr i can show you ntr people attacking in the same way and criticism from a pirate is still valid, you can say your opinion on something you don't have to pay to share it as long as you don't insult and no one did it in the thread, the developer overreacted calling people haters for no reason just because they have concerns.

I do agree he overreacted but again we live in a time where people disagreeing with something means like 20 kill yourself messages and we dont know how his inbox looked when he said all that stuff. Tho i still say people saying its death cause what is implemented can be taken as an insult cause its ur product and its never fun to have ur own work critisized for bringing in stuff some people find bad or disgusting.

Great! It's good to see people who enjoy the game and want to defend it (as I do), but I'm bored reading about the Acronym That Shall Not Be Named (ATSNBN).

There seems to be some concern that development of the game is finished. I'm very confident that Runaway Princess is not dead, and not even on life support. Creative energies take time to muster and artists need time to clear their heads occasionally.

So here's something fun to talk about: Who's everyone's favorite character in the game, anyway? (Aside from Randy, of course.) Why? How do you see this character's storyline progressing as the game continues? Every time I do another playthrough, I start liking a different girl. Recently, I'm becoming enchanted by Marika...

I don't feel like you need to "make a better game", and I'm know I'm not the only one. All the people that love your game, but who do not express themselves often, or at all, probably think the same. Runaway Princess is awesome & you should be very proud of it!
