Maybe you shouldn't give up after the third scene and continue the game. Unless you can't stand it I guess.

It almost feels to me like they put more effort into the story than the sex scenes.

It'll be tragic if you don't follow up Sanguine Rose. It's great. I was really surprised by the poison route which was the best turning point of the game and a little disappointed with certain characters who didn't have much development, hope to see your next work.
BTW when I saw Carmen IDK why I thought their would be vampires maybe carmen looks like one or was it the art. I wonder if you have any talks or articles on how you designed the story, I actually like the world built seems like it would be interesting if you expanded on it.
Are you sure you're using the right version for your platform? I don't think it's a problem with the download itself. It's been up a while without issue, but then again I don't handle the version uploaded here (for obvious reasons).
I'm always the first to say that Sanguine Rose isn't for everyone, and that it is short for individual playthroughs, but three max scenes, really? There's possibly two routes with three scenes, and for one of those you have to try and avoid bonus content. Most routes have closer to five, if we're only counting scenes with nudity, and some of the release endings go as high as eight.
It's not for you, that's fine. You don't need to exaggerate to make that point.

We get the Carmen vampire thing a lot actually haha, I guess maybe it's the red and her choice of clothing. I've talked a little in a few places about our process making SR but it's mostly forum posts here and lore posts on our discord. If there's anything you'd specifically like to know I'm always open to sharing.

Don't mind him, not everyone can appreciate a short but well done story with beautiful hand drawn art. Feed him cheap 3D models and 15 scenes awkwardly posed sex and Edvard Munch's "The Scream" faces and he would say it's great.

This game was beautiful, well thought out, a great story with twists, and completely disappointing to have played. Still it is great despite it all.

This game has wonderful graphics, great world building, and is in fact very well thought out. I would even consider recommending it to people who don't play porn games but like intrigue and thrillers.
I probably should have worded what I said a bit better, I was not disappointed in the game so much as in the resolution that I got. Not to spoil anything but the way it turned out for me is that the game was actually about another character then I thought it was, the characters I cared about had unsatisfying resolutions, and then ones I did not like had irksome ones. So really it says more about how I experienced the game and how I processed what happened. I actively did not like how things played out for me BUT that doesn't mean that I don't recognize that this is a great game.

I have the current version, at the time 3.6.0, and I can't unpack or copy the files. It keeps saying unspecified error for the exe. I have windows 10, if it means anything.

It does seem like I got the worst one based on my choices but that is how it goes I suppose. Might play through it again sometime. With games like this I usually consider my first play through my actual experience but with this I think I want to try again.
