Velminth changed the combat system to a card based one which a lot of people didn't like, I personally thought it was fine. Then I think in response to the dislike of the combat he remade the game from scratch into a VN which garnered A LOT of back lash. Since then he's started working on a new game, which is stuck on 0.1 since April 2nd. On discord he said his patreon is locked from new subs until he has a release.

If you want to play the VN version it's the download on the first page. And the new game that just released is going to be replaced by another new game. He said this new game will use what he learned from SR and CL.

What? Where did he pull that out from? People resubscribe all the time. There's games out there without a release in a year+. I've never ever heard of any restrictions in regards to that. Unless that's actually a thing, I'm more inclined to believe he's saying this because he's in denial of the fact that not more people want to subscribe to this shitshow.
That's just not true either. 'He removed the gameplay, adding more bugs' would be more accurate.
He's already working on the next game, so 'stuck' isn't the right wording here. Abandoned, quit, fooling around etc. would be more fitting imo.
So anyway, instead of sugarcoating it for the guy you replied to, you could've simply said; Velminth is a quitter, liar, mentally unstable and likes to insult everyone. That would've explained perfectly well why he went down the drain.

You forgot to add in the fact that his response to the backlash after the VN remake was to throw a tantrum at everybody and banned those who dared to criticize him, and you're still underselling just how much of a back lash he got (we got almost 4 and a half page of reviews bombing this game here and close to a 100 of pages here about the VN). Lmao, I highly doubt that his patreon is locked from new subs, considering he said he doesn't care whether people throw him money or not.
(Yeah, F95zone still continues to be a land of "Fuck You" to anything trying to make Vel look good.)

I have a strong suspicion that most people on patreon are "impulsive subscribers". They see something they like, subscribe, check a couple of updates and then forget about it for years or until their card expires.
Just check his latest post there. 40 likes and 3 comments from supposedly 400 paid members.
Sounds not much different from kickstarter projects, especially if you're a fan of boardgames.

Its scary to imagine these types of people actually exist. Its almost worse than actual paypigs, since these dudes are paying a fat hairy man to do nothing. At least paypigs get whatever gratification they want from maybe good looking girls.
Definitely worse when it comes to hentai games. Since most of the people playing them have absolutely no standards at all. Which lets devs do whatever they want as long as there is a "hope" for content. Even worse when a level up and you'll have people on this site excusing every behavior simply because we are getting the games for free.
Which, sure. We don't have an inherent right to complain. But that doesn't change that quality and progression of projects like these are basically outright scams. (Which is a major reason for someone to actually pirate instead of giving these devs money anyways)

The new Karryn's Prison DLC and update brought me back here, lol. Such a shame what happened to this game. It was such a new up-coming gem before the Dev self-destructed it. The art really was great. Saria was amazing and the OG game play for it was so promising.

It was dropped for a new game and that new game also got dropped after it's first release. Dev said they're going to use what they learned from both games on another new one.
