I finally manage to allocate some time to make the
last ever guide anyone will ever need to get this game going
0. This is a japanese game so it wants japanese locale - go download LOCALE Emulator (install it and right click any program, it should work via context menus)
1. Download The vanilla game (pre-installed) + included Registry fixer
The game is pre-installed so you need a registry fixer to register the game to your PC.
- run the registry fixer and click english , select the school mate 2

2. Patch the game using HF patch (HF patch is called HongFire Patch - god bless this site // have fun patch)
This patch will install all the neccessary add-ons and expansion for the game, look though the menu during installation and select as desired

3. Extra Tuning - the game is old af and running it on modern systems require workarounds, here are 2 tools called dgvoodo and Lossless Scaling
3a. For Dgvoodoo you will need to head over to the author's site and download the latest stable one

- Once you have the zip file, locate the dll files inside the archive subfolder (MS / x86)
- Drag all the Dlls inside to your desktop

rename the d3d9.dll into d3d9_alt.dll
- once the rename is complete, drag those dll on your desktop earlier into the game root directory (where the school mate 2.exe) is located
- go back to the dgvoodo archive again and drag the dgvoodocpl.exe and dgvoodo.conf into the game root directory too
- that exe will provide you a UI to configure dgvoodo for School Mate 2
- launch the game once as a test and on your bottom right corner should have dgvoodo watermark
- after that close the game and open dgvoodo config UI
- for general tab it should be this
for directX tab it should be like this
3b. Now the game FPS must be very bad, time to bring fake frames and trick our eyes
- you will need Lossless Scaling (app)
- you will need RIVA tuner too
- for riva tuner, click setup and at the bottom you want NVidia Reflex (i dont know for AMD users sorry)
- and after that add the game to riva tuner and limit the fps (need trial and error)
- for lossless scaling, you need to create a new profile and configure it like this.
- you need to mix and match the settings in lossless scaling and see what works
- im still testing and learning this lossless scaling app Frame Gen stuff, so yeah
5. lets try modding! (with whatever thats available)
- for modding you need Illusion wizzard (we call this a mod manager)
- you need the mods of course

- once you have the wizzard, drag the illusion wizzard into your game main directory
- then, you run it once and select SM2 in the dropdown menu
- drag all the files in the MODS archive to this directory (will be created after you run illusion wizzard once)
- in illusion wizzard , click refresh and all the mods will popup
