Oh I know, I could probably draw the scenes by hand, but rendering might be the easiest option. I was just looking for the most efficient way to go about things. I can program just fine, the plot is mostly written up and the mechanics mostly flushed out. I've just yet to decide on a program to assemble it in and how to go about the art.
Take a look at Summertime Saga, it uses handdrawn art and while I wouldn't say it is best art I have ever seen, it certainly makes the game and its characters unique. Where as in the many 3D render games I can more and more recognize the same models and props being re-used. The same clothes, the same bed etc etc.
So if you can draw art that can get the blood pumping, I would definitely suggest you post a drawing or two to get feedback on it before bothering with 3D assets. It would give your game a unique flavor and it will be far easier to draw exactly what you want rather then having to make due with what assets others prepared for you.
Take a simple thing as wet hair, found a nice hair model for my character but oops, no wet hair model available. Bye bye shower scene. Hand drawn art? Wet, dry, wind blown, covered in mud, slimed, blooded. All available in your pencil. It makes you infinitely more flexible.
