Not a dumb question at all. I had to dig to figure this out.

The following is considered cheating: smartass (my_clever) drops to -5 or below, you get robbed 10 or more times (police_ograblenie), or if you try to increase lock picking skills (slesyarna_exp) through the console or save file. You're considered too stupid to play the game if the 1st or 2nd happens. XD Take all of the above with a grain of salt. I think this is correct.

IIRC, if you get caught cheating it boots you out to the main menu.

Thanks. I haven’t been kicked to the main menu yet so I guess I’m good. I think as long as you keep your money below $5k you won’t get robbed. I thought getting robbed would lead to an event, but now I know better.
Tip: drink too much coffee every evening then try Shantel’s door at night, talk her into letting you sleep in her bed then Don’t sleep.
