Most especially in the indi scene like this, where folk have other jobs while trying to make a game.

If memory serves, the guy that made Stardew Valley made the game on days off while working as an usher.

3 months, give or take, is not very long in the grand scheme of things. There are games on here that we are lucky to get 1, 5 minute update once a year.
Sorry - I meant three months from the last post and five months from the last update, which is not huge, but some fans are worried now.

You are correct. Most devs will at least post something while they 'work' on updates. And it seems more and more devs think that if they put out 1-2 updates, that subscribers will fall at their feet giving them lots and lots of money. And when that does not happen, then move on. Sometimes with a different dev name, sometimes they just go away.

Exactly,

Here is a good example - https://f95zone.to/threads/academy-live-v0-07-3-alpha-passhonq.169917/, which started about 15 months ago (with 2-3 months update cycle)

This is from my memory and the numbers are from Patreon site only:
After two releases - about 20 patrons,
After the third release - about 40 patrons
Next release - about 80 patrons

And I checked a few days ago - 334 patrons.

The secret is simple - the developer needs to work to deliver some actions (plus periodically check the game thread and reply to people), so the fans see that you are going to stay and finish the game. The old times (with the numbers like BADIK) are long gone now.

abandoned this 1 too?
A lot of dev's for whatever reason seem to think that if they put something on here (no matter how good or bad) tat they will get rich quick. They forget that it takes time to build up a following and then the money will come. But to get the following, they need a quality product with updates in a timely manner.

They also need a marketing strategy. It is a product in a highly competitive market

This is a incredible and unique game that I just discovered because I'm always checking new random games. The cover art is as generic as possible. He could've asked for someone to design something better. I would do it for free, just ask and I help.

Other thing is interaction: A lot of devs get attention by just answering questions here.

There are so much you can do. I hope they get back on this game.
