Just played this for the first time. The writing and renders are good (other than the MC's mom and step-mom looking the same age as the MC) but may I suggest that if you're going to make a game where one has to use a walkthrough to not miss scenes...don't. I'd rather read a kinetic novel than be penalized for not knowing exactly which option the author want's me to take. There are too many of these "games". It's a bad design choice. Don't close off content for the player; that's just bad writing.

I see it as normal consequences to your choices

I got a question though, is Zoe actually meant to be the eldest? The game seems confused on this point.

Leanne is the eldest.
It's confusing because Zoe seems taller and since she's very serious, she has a mature behavior.

In your quote, I think Zoe means that, just between the MC and her, she's the older one.

From what I have read, the next update will focus mostly on Norah, although I'll be surprised if there is actual fucking. I'm guessing, like a lot of other games, finally being with 'mom' will come at the end.

I doubt it-I think it's just so there is no weirdness when the MC is spending time with each LI so they don't have to sneak around. Honestly if the game ends in a big lesbo orgy I'll be disappointed. Picture Perfect wasn't a bad game but the harem ending was shit.

Dont see it as bad writing have to disagree with you. Can be a mark of a good writer and a non lazy dev, and superwriter has shown he can deliver. Like you said you played it and its a game, if you just wanna read and have no choice and consequences you should probably stay away from games altogether since most game porn or mainstream have some sort of walk-through or guide

But...it's NOT a game. It is a visual novel with a bare sprinkling of choice like many visual novels. I will say that ANY VN where there is a BEST choice paradigm is faulty in my opinion. Games provide a reasonable challenge. Trying to read the author's mind is NOT reasonable. Now, Naughty Road's approach to choice in a VN with Light of My Life is much preferable in my opinion. With that VN, you feel that your choices have a real impact on the story, but you don't have to worry about missing content because you follow a path other than that which the author wanted you to travel.

I'll admit that Superwriter has some skill in storytelling and character development that I can appreciate; but it doesn't override my frustration with the whole "you don't have enough points for this scene" bs. That said, at least there are mods that say they get around this, which I am going to try so that I can experience Superwriter's work without said frustration...so that I can actually enjoy it.

I was not attacking Superwriter, or his work. I was giving constructive criticism in the way that I would like to receive it were it my project. Empty praise does not help a creative hone their craft; nor does an attack. Constructive criticism points out what is good and what is not in the reviewer's opinion as well as why, and often offers suggestion on how the reviewer believes errors might be rectified. That is what I was doing.

If I didn't like the "game" I would not have bothered to comment at all. The only work I comment on that I don't like is when they do horrible stuff like call stepcest incest, or other nefarious traps. That is not the case here.

Again, the above is my opinion. I have some salt grains around here somewhere if anyone needs them.

I've seen some comments posted around these threads and I can say that the dev that commented actually delivered some well built constructive criticism, that should be thought about.
and yes point system VNs are bad..no matter what anyone says,
basically a point system gives you the illusion of choice, if I need to access certain choices in order to view the scenes then there is no choice.

No, you misunderstood me completely. It's about the fact that one's own opinion is not always the right/best/only one and that one should therefore accept other opinions or approaches.

Agree constructive criticism does go a long way in helping to hone a person's talent/craft, the way you worded it sounded more salty than that though. Every creative has their own nuance signature style, you shouldnt want every dev here to do the exact same thing. About it being a VN not a game read your post again then youll see why I used "game", even though you could argue that VNs are a type of game. No one is attacking you either, simply voicing my opinion

It's a game, there's no doubt about it.

Take "normal" computer games such as Call of Duty or GTA, or whatever.
There, too, there are no real decisions in story mode that would really change the course of the game.
The only thing that happens is that the order may vary, or you may die, but otherwise the ending is always the same.

GTA 5, there is literally a choice that changes the ending. You get the choice of 3 different endings. I won't spoil it further as you have clearly not played it yet.

A visual novel aka Virtual Novel(VN) is a kind of game because it features interactivity. When that interactive element is removed but the same software interface is used it is called a Kinetic Novel (KN). Some VNs I have played feature so few choices and such a linear story that they might as well be KNs, but they still meet the threshold. So I suppose the valid question should be whether the choices are meaningful enough to change the direction of the story or not. Do they have a sufficient impact to merit inclusion rather than just to give the player buttons to push. I have gotten different scenes with different choices in this game, so I would say so. However, opinions may differ and some may be looking to make choices that will cause a more substantial deviation in the direction of the story.
