Is there even going to be a patch for the missing text? I haven't seen the game's author address that issue anywhere, although maybe I haven't searched hard enough.

I actually dont know if there will be a patch at all.
I manage to fix the missing text already but it was troublesome to do.

Do you mean it's necessary to change the region settings? I can't use locale emulator since it's a unity game, and most unity games don't even need the emulator anyway but this one specifically has that blank boxes issue. If it's necessary to change the region settings, I think I'm just going to wait until an english version for the game is released, it happened with Konko so hopefully it'll happen with Sofia too.
This game has very natural-looking Live2d, some of the best I've seen. And the game seems very heartwarming

changing app local and format in windows to japanese does fix the missing text issue, if you change format first then app locale region second you only need to restart your pc once
The missing text can be fixed without changing the system locale. Change the region format to Japanese and drag sophia.exe to LEProc.exe to force it to open in locale emulator.

ManlyMacro has english patch for game fixes menu options. Though text is a bit weird in dialogue. Go to patreon.
It's MTL it seems, I was hoping for a way to fix the menu options only and keep the rest of the game japanese but I don't think that's possible.
