About the endings.
Personally, I don’t see the reason to dramatize and call them bad. The protagonist says to Sofia, “Stay with me” and she happily agrees. After all, it’s the person she loves. Otherwise, if the protagonist lets her go to get married, the game simply ends. And that’s really all there is to it.
As for the uncle’s fantasies:
1. If the protagonist’s only problem with taking over the family estate is simply a lack of knowledge, that means he's already an adult. Therefore, it’s quite likely (as someone in this thread already pointed out) that he’ll just say:
“Hey, uncle, what’s with these ideas of yours? I love this woman… uh, I mean, this girl, and she’s staying with me. Any questions?”
2. The uncle has a rather strange idea, especially when it comes to the girl he supposedly loves like a daughter: “Quit being a maid, go find yourself a husband and be happy.” Facepalm. As if happiness were as simple as drinking your morning coffee. Many people spend their whole lives searching for it and never find it.
3. And in any case, this isn’t the kind of story that’s meant to be taken that seriously :) It’s more like a sketch - a small, simple narrative meant only to evoke a mood: a long, almost eternal winter; the warmth of a crackling fireplace; and the girl you love, sitting quietly beside you — the one who will stay with you forever.
