never mind, I can't save the game at all? every time i re open the game i get reverted to pre-charm song save, with act 8 as the final chapter and having to meet einomaru again

Ok well thanks for the descriptions of the h-scenes, I wasn't necessarily looking for any kinda snuff porn content so the lack of executions in some scenes wouldn't bother me - just, you know, a general lack of creature h-scenes, which given your summary doesn't technically seem to be the case. So I might check it out

The information in 'Seed of the Dead Sweet Home v2.08\SoD_CS_2.08DL_SH\SoD2\Content\Paks\pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak' is incorrect. The file is damaged.
No idea. You can try some things like:
- make sure you have enough space for it so around 20 GB (together with the DLC)
- try updating your unpacking software (or use 7zip if you use something else).
- try looking for alternative download on torrents/nyaa there seem to be even 2.09 version (downloading from the torrents you will have ability to "force recheck" to see if anything has downloaded with an error and that part will only be redownloaded if it in fact did)
- if you have enough space (and more) you can try to leave it there and download again on that disc but some other new folder or to another partition or somewhere else (like other disc a pendrive or an sd card) to see if it fixes it or check to see if your hdd or ssd has any errors or bad sectors (sometimes our hdd's and ssd's get bad/broken sectors and the system may not realize this part of the disc is broken so whatever it tries to write in these sectors is getting corrupted. If the space is filled it won't try to write there, but the solution may only be temporary so if it fixes itself you have to check the disc's health)
- or just since the beginning try to check your disc's health
If nothing helps then I have no more ideas.

How people are able to read enough to see that 2.09 is a thing while also not being able to find or search for links is beyond me.
Granted, it's just 1 post after quite a long time and many posts of people actually discussing the game so it's not as bad as other threads, but maybe OP should be updated.

We're going to need more info. Like the post t^2 suggested, if you're using steam, steamcloud might be replacing your save.
If not, make a backup of your save and then either start a fresh new game or use a save from here to test if it still happens.
If it doesn't, you can return your original save back and test by changing the outfit of a girl, saving (go to a stage or the gallery in the lab) and then close and reopen the game to see if there's still an issue.
If there isn't, try meeting Einomaru and then repeat the outfit test.
Best case scenario, it's just a steam issue. Worst case scenario, your save might be borked, your version of the game might be borked or the game is somehow even more broken than we thought and you lost the lottery.
Problem is still a corrupted file.
It happens when you try to extract both the full 16GB download and with the split download, correct? Do you have enough storage? Have you tried using 7zip instead of winrar?
Try downloading from a different link that is not OP, like this one:
I can't check if the version on the OP works, but the torrent one should work (it's the one I used) and it's also updated to 2.09. Also like t^2 mentioned, with torrents you can recheck to see if any file has errors.

I mentioned. It's free! Also yes from what it looks the largest marked file containing almost everything there's about the game is damaged and missing. It may be anything from bad download to hardware issues so either try solving those or give up. Somebody posted links to 2.09 version on sukebei/torrent a page back so you try those when redownloading.
There's no magic trick that I can offer you.

That's... the first I've heard of those programs or that kind of setup, so apologies if what I say doesn't help you fix the issues.
If you downloaded the game from here, you don't need to crack or emulate steam, every version posted (that I know of) is plug and play.
It does look like smartsteamemu has access to save features, whatever that might mean, so maybe that's what's causing the problem? Again, it might be steam (or smartsteamemu in this case) that might be replacing your save with a cloud one. Try disabling cloud saves or not use smartsteamemu.
Also, do these and tell us what happens so we know where in the chain the problem might be.
Worst case scenario, redownload the game from one of the links posted before and try again, with no cracking or emulating stuff.
Although I know about smartsteamemu, it's not needed on these version, you just install/update the game and the save files are intact.
when I installed from 2.01 to 2.07 I was afraid of my save, but surprisingly both version loaded the same save w/o issues.
So yeah, as cjfama said above, try reinstalling the game without adding anything else and see if that works
