Act 12 yes, you can go through by sprinting. I went through second half like that.
Act 13 no, it's just pure pain.

Base Game + DLC gallery unlocked. The previous save up this thread didn't have the DLC gameovers.
And yea its nothing special compared to what we've seen already. The spider gameover feels like a huge missed opportunity and the final boss animation is way too fast and not even accurate, the tentacles are all over the place. Needs a lot of polish.

probably hopeless but might as well ask
is there any way tor recover missing progress? I was playing for ~6 hours on the idol gamemode but somehow the game didn't save. I've checked the %appdata%/local/sotd save folders and it didn't save.
is there some cache anywhere or something it could've saved to?

It says right there: The file is corrupt. Probably something downloaded with error. Try redownloading. Looks like the largest file that has like 14GB is the one corrupted.
Stuck at Act 8: Laboratory. How do i get to the next act? Or does this version 2.08 not have next levels?
Extra levels are in the Charm Song DLC. If you had the DLC installed, you could see ACT9~ACT13.
No idea. You can try some things like:
- make sure you have enough space for it so around 20 GB (together with the DLC)
- try updating your unpacking software (or use 7zip if you use something else).
- try looking for alternative download on torrents/nyaa there seem to be even 2.09 version (downloading from the torrents you will have ability to "force recheck" to see if anything has downloaded with an error and that part will only be redownloaded if it in fact did)
- if you have enough space (and more) you can try to leave it there and download again on that disc but some other new folder or to another partition or somewhere else (like other disc a pendrive or an sd card) to see if it fixes it or check to see if your hdd or ssd has any errors or bad sectors (sometimes our hdd's and ssd's get bad/broken sectors and the system may not realize this part of the disc is broken so whatever it tries to write in these sectors is getting corrupted. If the space is filled it won't try to write there, but the solution may only be temporary so if it fixes itself you have to check the disc's health)
- or just since the beginning try to check your disc's health
If nothing helps then I have no more ideas.

never mind, I can't save the game at all? every time i re open the game i get reverted to pre-charm song save, with act 8 as the final chapter and having to meet einomaru again

Ok well thanks for the descriptions of the h-scenes, I wasn't necessarily looking for any kinda snuff porn content so the lack of executions in some scenes wouldn't bother me - just, you know, a general lack of creature h-scenes, which given your summary doesn't technically seem to be the case. So I might check it out
