Ugh, Patreon has made me wary of "super secret side project" type announcements since most eventually end up as entirely separate games that take away time and focus from the original project until both are abandoned. That's probably not the case here, I hope, but still wary. :pokerFace:

I would imagine the fulltime artist would maybe do everything (sprites AND CGs) to create a consistency in the artwork. Or it will be related to CGs, as that's the only piece of art people really complain about.

I doubt the side project refers to the training mode as that is now basically implemented in the game with the job system. I honestly doubt he'll reach that goal; while money has been going up, it's been increasing slowly, so I don't think we'll get there.
He'd have to get rid of momdadno if he wants consistent artwork and also the person who's doing his other art for the game, hikari or something. I dunno if Arioch or whatever his name is is actually willing to go that far.

Anyway, his patreon doubled the amount of donation to the game since i started following it, and there aren't much games with this type of content so i wouldn't be surprised if someday he does reach this goal.

I'm surprised that Heroes of Might and Magic wasn't listed as one of the inspirations for this game in the intro post because that's the first thing I thought of when I started playing it. In regards to base building and the map I think the developer should buy an old copy of Heroes of Might and Magic 3 off GOG and take some notes.

I really like how the game is developing so far though so I hope they keep it up.

Yeah, but the guy I was replying to mentioned more consistent art and duuuudddeee that just ain't happening with momdadno making the adult cg. Whether or not this game reaches the 7500$ is an open question in my mind.

The whole problem with the CGs at the moment is a lack of consistency. Getting another artist to do them alongside momdadno would be even worse, just as it would be worse to lose the consistency that does exist in the background style/sprites.
This whole thing could theoretically be resolved if the dev could get the artists he wants to work on the project to work together like the JP art teams do, but that's a bit unlikely with one of these patreon supported projects.

So, new update time.

Hello all,

So, a positive month; we are getting to the usual end of the month dropoff, but otherwise it has been one of the best months yet. Now most of the systems are in place, and there's a good number of CGs per release, things seem to be picking up nicely.

We are hard at work on the next release, which will be out at some point next month. It'll feature more events, Alexia's tavern job, and more content for the Orciad, along with the usual new CGs, BGs, and character sprites. After that, we'll be working on the Fey and Goblin storylines, before eventually moving on to the first city to wrap up Rosaria for now.

As some of you may have noticed. I have removed the writer goal. The problem is I've been unable to find anyone I like who is available on a monthly basis, so for the time being we'll be sticking to DM and I doing the majority of the work, with the occasional guest writer. This'll probably keep it more consistent, and to be fair, of all the many complaints I've heard about the game, I've never heard anyone say the updates are too small.
This leads me on to the new goal, which is to hire Erick full time. For the past few months we've been working on another game together, smaller in scope than SoC, that gives me a rest when I feel like working on something else. While I want to save most of the information for the "reveal" when we reach the goal, here is what I can share:

- It is a fantasy game, but different in tone from SoC. Instead of low fantasy with dark elements, it is comedic in the vein of Slayers or Disgaea.
- It has a number of female MCs, instead of a male one.
- It is being made in Unity, so instead of an adapted VN style game, it will focus on combat and dungeon crawling.
- While it while probably have GoR elements, most sex will take place during combat.
- Instead of CGs, it will focus on HD sprite animations, made using drawn sprites rigged in spine.
- Erick will be doing the sprites, animations, environments - everything.
- The systems design, core mechanics and technical aspects are being developed by someone with AAA experience.
- Since the script is much, much smaller, if the money is there, it'll be fully voiced, if not, partially.

Since it is probably going to be 6-9 months before we reach the goal, I should have a good amount of art and animations to share with you by then. I'll probably try and sell this one eventually, but backers will get it as well (will work it out later, but probably if you've contributed $15 over the life of the project or something like that). For those worried about it impacting SoC, it won't - as I've said I've already been working on it for months and it hasn't, and the only other person pulling double duty is Erick, who'll be full time. It'll always be the second priority, and time will only be allocated to it after SoC. Best way to look at it is it is a free game you will get when it is ready. :)

I really want to share some of this stuff, because it is looking amazing, and hopefully it'll get you guys excited as well.

So, without much further ado:

$4500 - First character reveal
$5000 - Second character reveal
$5500 - Third character reveal
$6000 - Fourth character reveal
$6500 - Villain reveal
$7000 - Battle screen reveal

Shouldn't be too long before we reach the first one, which will also show what the art style of the game is like. I'm really looking forward to this, and hopefully, when you guys see it, you will be too. :)

Seeds of Chaos is still in version ~0.2, even big teams can get in trouble by trying to do too much at the same time.

I am also wary of this new project. ::|:
Nice to know I ain't the only one, if Nergal who was more successful with his own projects in terms of patreon contributions and in terms of progress can still wind up failing and closing up shop then who says Arioch won't? A Zombie's life was mostly finished even, and seeds of chaos is still very early in development as you said.

Thanks for the update. These images again make me question just what sort of cheating/NTR/Netori content the game is going to have exactly. The dev mentioned elsewhere that the NTR only happens once Alexia reaches a high corruption level for example. Does that mean then that at medium corruption that Alexia is just a slutty wife? Furthermore, why is that some of the events in this game seem so self-contained? Alexia should have had a very different reaction to Rowan saving Helayna by taking her as his own if Alexia had already had sex with other people in order to protect Rowan, but that doesn't happen because "reasons".

Nice art or no, I just can't remain all that optimistic about this title, VNs(and this game is at least in part a VN) work based on the quality of their story and this game's story just doesn't seem to flow that well at present.

I think the idea is that now, Alexia only has sex with other people to help/protect Rowan or to get something. From "medium corruption" she'll probably start having sex with other people because she enjoys it. From "high corruption" she'll probably rub it in Rowan's face that she regularly bangs other people.

The creator said that he will probably go back later to create more event chains and interactions between events, i.e. Alexia not reacting so furiously to Rowan banging Helayna. Right now, it assumes she is in a "pure" run apparently, probably so she has an excuse to cheat on Rowan (because now he initiated it, as opposed to having the first scene between Alexia and Andras being the first cheating scene).
