Hey thanks for the response, I have read it twice to ensure I'm not missing any key pieces of information.

I have always been more of a fan of realism in any game I play (as much as one can get in the genres I play anyway). I honestly still think that her conversation with Sophie in the cafe about changing how she acts is a little out of place, but that's my opinion and it has no bearing on the quality of the game itself, I love fiction, but, being the person I am I always look for realism or (simulated realism) even in fictitious stories, it is a weight I carry with me which sometimes stunts my ability to enjoy games for what they are.

Keep on your path and keep making the game you want to make. I will continue playing this game until I reach a point where my enjoyment wavers then I will simply thank you for the experience and continue on my merry way.
Just read your post and I tend to agree its the realism that draws me in , as much as your try to not put yourself in a characters shoes sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't .... But regardless of the point I'm trying to make is that it's the realism that makes me buy into a game , be genuinely interested in the characters almost like making a bond with them .. typically that's what brings me back to a game and honestly with out that I tend to not care about the game or the characters and end up skipping most of the story anyway

But I would also agree with that you stick to your path/ vision for the game and keep up the good work

Don't forget about the influence of the Oogle Corp and their drug Nyct-X. Such abrupt changes in behavior of people are caused by the drug being dumped into the city's waters.

I'll be honest and say that while the game itself is good, I didn't get far enough to find out about this, I noped out on the story when my wall popped up, but to AbyssGames keep up the good work and let's hope you have more fans of this game (y)

yeah correct. despite my (agreement with) critique, the sensibility is by no means broken, the narrative really holds.

For my part only certain thoughts/conversations could be smoother here, more elaborate there and yes sometimes there's room for a completely different thing to write. It isn't drastic though, in that it doesn't effect really the plot. It'd just take it to the next level, so it's not just the story and scene tickling your... errm... senses but also the words.

The update wasn't just that 1 flashback scene, it was adding new features, updating visuals, introducing new animations, ect...
But you can put this together with the progression of the story, doing it separately just gives me the impression that you are wasting my Patreon

Bur it wasn't released in lieu of an update; they normally release a chapter every couple of months. This patch was tacked on a few weeks after Chapter 4 was released. Just like the patch continuing the h-scene (was it 4.1?) was a week or two after 4.0.

This was explained as not wanting to make people wait for finalisation and I think just revisions after release upon consideration-like. It's par for the course in true serialisation (like big novels a hundred years ago), but even if it had been artificial serial releases like today's TV... I mean I kinda enjoyed the small after-bites like they're special episodes or something.

The practice is also not uncommon for the VN world, at least schedule-wise, as this was released in similar fashion public then patreon versions (or the other way round for dates of single version) or like standard then extended updates or bug-fixed version or whatever terms you're used to.

I’d argue I’m doing the opposite. The update time is fairly quick compared to others in the genre, especially for the amount of content added. I could’ve waited, but since this was a rework of chapter 1 and the introduction of the game, I think it’s important to get that out as soon as possible as new people try the game every day. First impressions are important, so I didn’t want to lose potential new players by delaying a QOL update with fixes, animations, ect…

I'm curious what AI engine is used for this art? A self-taught or any kind of commercial one? Like, IDK, adult DALLE/midjourney version?

I'm just curious, do you work directly on Stability SD3.5 and/or CIVITAI?

I started exploring a bit them and read/watch some tutorials but I haven't much experience in this field, except for Firefly/OpenAI which I use regularly (for other purposes).

Thanks!

No, I work with a fine-tune checkpoint of SDXL. As it's supporting better resolutions. (Easier upscale to 1920x1080).
