Yes, it is simping to go back to a girl after she leaves you to fuck some other dude(s), that's what simping is. She kept the MC on standby while she fucked around with other guys, and now she is miraculously going to discover what a great guy he is and realize that she wants to be with him.
Or maybe you just need to admit that your fragile ego makes you insecure about the idea that the girl isn’t exclusive to you (in a FWB RELATIONSHIP) — even though you think it’s totally fine for you to sleep with other women, right?
Men and women are not the same, and in this case MC and Maddison are not in the same position, she's in a significantly higher position than him. She holds the cards, not the MC. Also, we don't play as Maddison, so there is no equivalence.
FWB is not the same as going back to a girl who openly and consistently chooses to value you as a second choice (at best), whilst getting run through. FWB doesn't need to include starting and stopping and restarting. The interruption is what makes it cucked, obviously.
Everything written here is so ridiculous and reeks of insecurity. And the moment you brought up “cucked” (once again, a word you’re misusing, but whatever), it became clear that what really bothers you is just the idea that Maddison may have slept with another man — and that the MC still sleeps with her despite that unforgivable offense!!
She dared not to reserve her body for her FWB relationship, while he, on his side, can sleep with all the girls he wants!!
Lena saying "you should let your gf post nudes or you're a hypocrite", and the MC just sits there slack-jawed with no retort.
If you're going to have a dialogue tree which either leads to the MC agreeing with Lena or tacitly admitting to being a hypocrite, you're not letting the player make an actual choice, you're just saying "you can either be right or wrong". The MC has no intellectual capacity to defend his position.
From a gameplay perspective this works well enough because you are essentially telling the player what to expect with Lena, but from a writing perspective it just makes the MC look like a drooling retard.
Why are you lying? You can literally shut Lena down as much as you want during her little quiz — you can even make her hate you (which you can either fix later on or not).
The dialogue tree is literally as follows:
– You agree with what she does → she's happy.
– You agree/partially agree → she says you still passed the test.
– You agree/partially agree unless it were your girlfriend doing it → she calls you a bit of a hypocrite.
– You disagree and imply she’s just a whore trying to excite sexually frustrated guys → she tells you to fuck off and insults you.
You absolutely have room to express disagreement. And sorry to break it to you, but the MC isn’t a blank slate designed to give you 30 different dialogue options to cater to every single player’s taste. His choices and reactions always depend on the MC’s initial personality.
If the MC had been written as a jerk from the start, then your only option would’ve been to tell Lena off — because that’s who he is.
In this situation, the MC reflects on what he said, realizing he may have been too harsh by implying she was just trying to excite sexually frustrated people — because that’s just how he is, it’s part of his personality. And he’s not indifferent to the fact that his new roommate might have taken it badly.
That’s called empathy. Even if he hates what someone does, he can still recognize that his words may have hurt her, and he takes a moment to reflect on his actions.
And as for your last sentence — the MC only looks like a “drooling retard” to you because, from what I gather, you’d prefer if he were just an asshole, entitled to some kind of exclusive control over the past of the LIs around him. As if a woman should have never had a life — or a man in her life — before meeting him, because the mere mention of it bruises your ego.
