Lena saying "you should let your gf post nudes or you're a hypocrite", and the MC just sits there slack-jawed with no retort.

If you're going to have a dialogue tree which either leads to the MC agreeing with Lena or tacitly admitting to being a hypocrite, you're not letting the player make an actual choice, you're just saying "you can either be right or wrong". The MC has no intellectual capacity to defend his position.

From a gameplay perspective this works well enough because you are essentially telling the player what to expect with Lena, but from a writing perspective it just makes the MC look like a drooling retard.

Counter argument; it fits perfectly for the vast majority of F95 users that the MC comes off as a drooling retard, because they can relate.

Yes, it is simping to go back to a girl after she leaves you to fuck some other dude(s), that's what simping is. She kept the MC on standby while she fucked around with other guys, and now she is miraculously going to discover what a great guy he is and realize that she wants to be with him.
Or maybe you just need to admit that your fragile ego makes you insecure about the idea that the girl isn’t exclusive to you (in a FWB RELATIONSHIP) — even though you think it’s totally fine for you to sleep with other women, right?

Men and women are not the same, and in this case MC and Maddison are not in the same position, she's in a significantly higher position than him. She holds the cards, not the MC. Also, we don't play as Maddison, so there is no equivalence.

FWB is not the same as going back to a girl who openly and consistently chooses to value you as a second choice (at best), whilst getting run through. FWB doesn't need to include starting and stopping and restarting. The interruption is what makes it cucked, obviously.
Everything written here is so ridiculous and reeks of insecurity. And the moment you brought up “cucked” (once again, a word you’re misusing, but whatever), it became clear that what really bothers you is just the idea that Maddison may have slept with another man — and that the MC still sleeps with her despite that unforgivable offense!!

She dared not to reserve her body for her FWB relationship, while he, on his side, can sleep with all the girls he wants!!

Lena saying "you should let your gf post nudes or you're a hypocrite", and the MC just sits there slack-jawed with no retort.

Why are you lying? You can literally shut Lena down as much as you want during her little quiz — you can even make her hate you (which you can either fix later on or not).

The dialogue tree is literally as follows:
– You agree with what she does → she's happy.
– You agree/partially agree → she says you still passed the test.
– You agree/partially agree unless it were your girlfriend doing it → she calls you a bit of a hypocrite.
– You disagree and imply she’s just a whore trying to excite sexually frustrated guys → she tells you to fuck off and insults you.

You absolutely have room to express disagreement. And sorry to break it to you, but the MC isn’t a blank slate designed to give you 30 different dialogue options to cater to every single player’s taste. His choices and reactions always depend on the MC’s initial personality.

If the MC had been written as a jerk from the start, then your only option would’ve been to tell Lena off — because that’s who he is.

In this situation, the MC reflects on what he said, realizing he may have been too harsh by implying she was just trying to excite sexually frustrated people — because that’s just how he is, it’s part of his personality. And he’s not indifferent to the fact that his new roommate might have taken it badly.

That’s called empathy. Even if he hates what someone does, he can still recognize that his words may have hurt her, and he takes a moment to reflect on his actions.

And as for your last sentence — the MC only looks like a “drooling retard” to you because, from what I gather, you’d prefer if he were just an asshole, entitled to some kind of exclusive control over the past of the LIs around him. As if a woman should have never had a life — or a man in her life — before meeting him, because the mere mention of it bruises your ego. :)

Hello everyone, Version 0.5 is coming!

First of all, I want to let you know that this update is shorter than the previous ones (630 renders compared to around 1000 usually).
Also, for this changelog, there won’t be a personal message this time because an important post coming early next week will explain what’s planned for the next few months for SD:R.

Release Dates
  • MVP: Beta release on August 2, 2025 at 4:00PM CET / 7:00AM PST
  • Franchise Player: Official release on August 9, 2025 at 4:00PM CET / 7:00AM PST
  • Sophomore: Official release on August 16, 2025 at 4:00PM CET / 7:00AM PST
  • Rookie: Official release on August 23, 2025 at 4:00PM CET / 7:00AM PST
Changelog – Version 0.5
  • 630 renders
  • 8 animations (+12 speed variations)
  • Ambient sounds added throughout the game (I didn’t have time to include them during the Beta Week of version 0.4)
  • Visual update of the hateful comments in Scene 66 from version 0.4
PS: As some of you may have noticed, I’ve removed the mention of playtime duration for this update, since it can be misleading for players who don’t explore multiple paths or don’t replay the game to test all choices.

That’s it for this changelog!
Once again, thank you so much for your continued support—have a great day and week!

If the MC had been written as a jerk from the start, then your only option would’ve been to tell Lena off — because that’s who he is.

What I said was that the MC cannot mount a defense of the position which he takes (and I wasn't talking about the first response anyway because I agree that it's rude). That has nothing to do with what the player projects onto him because it's literally the position YOU gave to him, which you won't allow him to defend, in an allegedly "choice based" game.

I never said you couldn't disagree with Lena, I said that the game implicitly tells you that you are wrong for doing so, which creates an illusion of choice that ultimately boils down to "agree with me or you're bad". The fact that the game tells you that you're only kinda bad, if you mostly agree with her, doesn't actually change what I said, since that was whole point from the beginning.

Armchair psychology tells you that everyone who disagrees with you is "insecure", as if that's some magical word that automatically makes you either correct or insightful, but it's not. It actually is not at all insecure to not want someone you are intimate with to be intimate with others, particularly when it occurs in between bouts of intimacy with oneself. That is actually the default position.

And as for your last sentence — the MC only looks like a “drooling retard” to you because, from what I gather, you’d prefer if he were just an asshole, entitled to some kind of exclusive control over the past of the LIs around him. I have literally never said a single thing about the LIs' pasts before meeting the MC. Unless you are now implying that somehow MC and Maddison were FWB before they even knew each other, which would be rather impressive.

Just because a character tells you you’re wrong — or makes you feel like you are — doesn’t mean it’s automatically true. The game is designed to show you that Lena disagrees with you, and that she holds it against you (like calling you a hypocrite, for example). That’s her perspective, not an objective judgment handed down by the game.

And adding a “defense” where the MC doubles down on his position feels pointless to me — the whole point of the quiz is to help you understand Lena’s character. Turning it into a debate doesn’t fit what I want for that scene. Otherwise, every choice in the game would turn into a 20-minute back-and-forth between characters — and I think that would get boring really fast.

Armchair psychology tells you that everyone who disagrees with you is "insecure", as if that's some magical word that automatically makes you either correct or insightful, but it's not. "Armchair psychology tells you that everyone who disagrees with you is 'insecure'" — how can you say that when you dropped the word simp in your very first message while distorting its real definition?

It's true it's not insecure to want your partner not to engage in intimate acts with other people when you're in a RELATIONSHIP/DATING PHASE, whereas here we're talking about a FWB relationship.

What's so hard to accept about the fact that the two of them had a FWB relationship where they can each do whatever they want sexually with other people because they have no feelings for each other — that it's a perfectly healthy relationship the two characters have had for almost 4 years when the story begins?

Your only issue is that you're paranoid about the idea that the two aren't equal in the relationship — that it's not the same for a girl and a guy in a FWB setup, and that Maddison should somehow have fewer freedoms in that relationship because she’s a girl, so she automatically has the upper hand in the relationship. If you don’t see how ridiculous that logic is, that’s not my problem.
But I know that narrative — it's the classic "The MC can be around other girls, but the LI better not even breathe near another man."

I have literally never said a single thing about the LIs' pasts before meeting the MC. Unless you are now implying that somehow MC and Maddison were FWB before they even knew each other, which would be rather impressive.
Yet your entire argument is based on Maddison’s introduction, where the MC brings up his past with Maddison and how their FWB relationship is set up.
Because in the game, after that introduction, Maddison never once mentions — or even hints at — seeing another guy besides the MC.

You disagree and imply she’s just a whore trying to excite sexually frustrated guys → she tells you to fuck off and insults you.
I have never tried this approach before.

Remember that she's not just a roommate, but the literal landlady (and not a euphemism for "mom"). I thought she might kick you out and I didn't want to make the story more dramatic :ROFLMAO:.
Visual update of the hateful comments in Scene 66 from version 0.4
Milton, what scene is that?

I don't understand the change, was something censored? :HideThePain:.
