Abandoned? Please. It’s just parked in the hangar while I wrestle with dragons and toxic air. Still very much alive.
Glad to hear it's pretty much alive and cooking...

That's good, cause I've just made some fan sigs for 'SHROUD':

I keep dying on dragon, this need a walkthrough and if their is, can some1 link it?
I agree. KEXBOY Just some I hope positively-taken critiquing, like book-writing. :giggle: The game absolutely drew me in! It was when it became more free roam mode and then I had no supplies or weapon (that I know of?) to kill the thing in early stages of the game with a blank map (meaning no idea what would happen where I clicked). If there's an order or un-hidden places to click on the map for at least a few places that alone would be good to start the game with.

I feel the game definitely has promise, but I frankly need a little more hand-holding at the beginning for an AVG. If I want to play a super action game I can find a ton, but even then I can google and find out how to pass a section.

And mini-games, I'm not sure if I'm there yet to have reached any (don't remember), but I have never seen anyone on this site in favor of them depending on the type - I love seeing either in the options menu to skip them, or at the beginning of them to skip them, or after like three failed tries then it automatically passes the game.

Overall with this game perhaps think about what separates yours from others, please make great sexy scenes while balancing your story line, and this has a lot of promise.

I am a mod guy, just because I work all day and like to just get through games at my own pace if I'm doing walkthroughs or frankly just watch the hotness if I'm doing gallery/replay mods. Food for thought as well. I know I'm some random internet person, so take all that for what it is worth. I support this endeavor and appreciate your time, work, and skills on this game!

Thanks a ton for the thoughtful feedback I’m developing SHROUD solo, so every comment helps me see where players struggle.

A quick note about difficulty: fights and mini-games are tied to your stats. If you lean into a build, most challenges get much easier — sometimes almost like an auto-skip.

Dragon quick tips (no spoilers beyond the scene you’ve seen)

  • Before the descent you pick one of three crates. Each adds +5 to a core stat and a small side bonus:
    • The Intellectual: +5 INT, plates (+2 STR, +HP)
    • The Agile: +5 DEX, plates (+2 INT, +HP)
    • The Strong: +5 STR, plates (+2 DEX, +HP)
  • In the dragon scene, any one of these checks lets you survive immediately:
    • DEX ≥ 8 → “Jump” (safe route for agile builds)
    • STR ≥ 8 → “Strike”
    • INT ≥ 8 → “Distract”
  • If you fail the first check, you get a second chance with the same three options. Fail twice → game over.
  • The “sit by Yutin or Prella” choice changes flavor/relations, not the stat checks for survival.

If the map feels too “blank” early on: I’ll add clearer optional guidance (and looking at a skip/auto-pass for mini-games after a few fails). Thanks again for the encouragement — means a lot when you’re building solo

I was able to kill Nero at the ransom site but when he dies it kicks me back out to the map immediately. If I then click on the raiders grid, it restarts the scene with Nero out front. Any way around that?

One more quick note about mini-games: they’re also stat-gated.
  • STR makes shove/push QTEs easier,
  • DEX makes “click the right spot / timing” climbs easier,
  • INT usually unlocks smarter routes or safer checks,
  • HazeX gives a temporary +5 to the chosen stat, which can turn a fail into a pass or widen the “green zone”.
If a mini-game feels rough, try leaning into your build or pop a HazeX first.

Well, I'm disappointed after only 5 minutes of new content for this update.
Only tried one path to pass the wall of scrap on the way to the tower, but still: even with all paths way too short!
KEXBOY, sorry for sounding too harsh here, but is that really all there is for now???
If yes, I can only urge you to not concentrate too much on minigames and other development time consuming stuff for the next update, but instead simply larger bits of story continuation, character interactions and maybe some more good ol' VN narration?!
Just to make the play time worth for the player to actually care for any new update. This time I couldn't care less unfortunately.

Haha, congrats — you just unlocked the “immortal Nero” bug. ‍♂
Thanks for pointing it out, I’ll fix that in the next build. For now, think of it as the game telling you: “Nope, you can’t cheese this fight that way.”

I totally get that this wasn’t much for an update, and you’re right — it felt short. The thing is, I’m laying the foundation for future mechanics. My plan is to eventually make every single grid on the map functional, which takes quite a lot of time (text, coding, renders, testing).

I don’t want to abandon this project — honestly, I’m very curious myself to see where the story will go. At the same time, I also don’t want to keep people waiting for too long. Since I’m working solo, my plan is to push updates every two weeks — at least one grid per update, ideally three per month.

I’m not ready to go full-time dev mode on this game just yet — rent still wants its cut, you know. But who knows, maybe one day you guys will back me enough so I can build a little team and drop bigger chunks of content per update.

Thanks a lot for your honest comment — it’s exactly this kind of feedback that gives me the energy to keep going. I’ve got tons of ideas, and the only way to not drown in them is to release updates, even if they’re small. Step by step, the game will start pulling you (and me!) in deeper, and I believe it’s going to become something really cool.

Sigh... started off pretty good but soon I found myself in a free roam. Fine.... As President of the Free Roams Suck Society, I decided to give it a try just to see how bad it is. I managed to get through the whole click on the KESS (or whatever it is) and click on the MAP and worked my way through it. Then I had to escape the dragon and jumped to a roof top, but oopsie, goodness gracious me, I've lost my flare. Now I have to stop the story and click around like a spaz to find it. FFS. When I get back to the base will I have to do chores? Pick up my laundry? Based on some of the comments it looks like I will get to find panties. Oooo! So giddy with excitement! I just can't WAIT to find some panties.

Don't get me wrong, I like the story and the dev is talented and I know this shit is hard especially for one person to do it so if this is what they want to create then fine. They have obviously gone all in on it, but I just can't.

I have said it before, many times, free roams suck unless they somehow move the story forward or contribute to it in some way. So far, I have seen nothing in the story where the free roams add more than it would if you just told the story. It stops the flow and pulls the reader out of the story while they do whatever silly thing it is they need to do. There are only a couple on this site that have free roams that work and they are puzzle or clue based where you actually have to solve something that is in line with the story. Finding a missing flare is the same as picking up your laundry.... a waste of time.

The production is really well done and I mean it when I say I wish the Dev and this game luck. It seems like it has a strong start. It's just not for me.

Haha, thanks for the detailed feedback, President of the Free Roams Suck Society!
I totally get it — free roams are one of those love-it or hate-it mechanics. My intention was to use them for small exploration/puzzle-like moments, not for laundry chores (though hey, maybe one day I’ll add “folding panties” as an ultimate side quest ).

You’re right that sometimes it interrupts the flow, and I’ll keep that in mind as I refine future updates. I definitely don’t want it to feel like busywork — the goal is always to push the story forward.

Either way, I really appreciate you giving it a try and sharing your honest thoughts. Even if free roam isn’t your thing, I’m glad the story and production value came through. Feedback like this helps me a lot, so thank you!
