I can see what you are saying. But in several other cases where the devs were doing commissions, that I have seen on the forums here, they usually released those commissions to the rest of the patrons, after a set time.
Normally, I wouldn't interject into this issue, honestly. But I have been learning DAZ and Ren'py for the last couple, few months and I am thinking about making a VN so i've been really paying attention to the way Devs do things on here.
See, the part where I don't agree with you is that these extra scenes are not made in a vacuum. They were made with partial use of the main games "framework" including code, assets, renders, canon lore, etc. I get that Patrons are voluntarily donating money to help devs out... it's not a contract, nor are they employing the dev. I agree with that 100%... otherwise there would be almost no one willing to attempt these VN's. But I still think it blurs an ethical line to take one group of people's money, make a successful game, then use that product to sell something to another group, excluding the first group.

In any case, people decide with their wallets. And there's always pirates

I'm kinda confused so what does this remake actually do? Does he animate scenes that weren't animated or just rework the story?
He took the renders to God tier level from your avg grainy renders and ofc there are animations.

He does both. He reworks the scenes more like, and animates. The story makes more sense as well.

Eh, I'm going to hard disagree with this. I'm not sure if you've actually bothered paying for many patreon games but from my experience and from most games I've seen the "standard"/bottom tier are basically tiers where you just chip in money because you want to support the dev.
You get the game release early as a benefit but probably don't get things like polling or a say in how you'd like the direction of the game to go. Also you have no idea what the breakdown of his funding is. Admittedly you mention that you're just speculating on the numbers but the numbers make your whole argument fall apart. For all we know his tier breakdown could be like a mobile game where the whales are like 90% of the revenue.
I pledge to multiple devs on what you'd call the standard tier and all I care about is that the game is making progress and getting updated regularly which I expect is what most standard tier pledgers care about. We know going into it that the upper tier is going to get more perks/voting/etc.
I hardly post but couldn't help myself this time because this post sounded entitled as fuck.

You didn't read the other posts did you? The whole argument was about extra content. Nobody said anything and had any problems with polling and stuffs.
You accuse him of speculations and yet you did exact same thing above obviously without any facts or common sense at that.
You pledge multiple devs how does that make you entitled enough since he isn't?
Perks like voting, selecting wardrobe, or wallpapers, or new characters or hair style or anything related to game development are totally different than one group getting extra content over another paying group who are getting nada. It's totally understandable since they are paying more they should get the extra content but what the hell is wrong in giving those content to lower tier (2nd most or top most on how you look at them) groups after some period or in the next update because they are paying too.

here is my unofficial android port of Shut Up and Dance Remake EP4CH2SE.
from now on my android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like windows. if you uninstall an app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore the app needs the permission to access the public external storage (or a new one on Android 11), because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.
