I’m watching this really dark scene, where the MC just drops an ice-cold, simple "And ?" to Nicole, who’s kneeling in front of a child’s lifeless body; and that moment hits hard, feeling raw, chilling, and heavy. I really love that scene because it captures the heart of the story’s grim tone so well. :devilish::whistle:

Always been that way.

It might also be the lighting in this scene that highlights and brings out her rosy complexion. Either way, I think it’s just a small, unimportant detail. You could even imagine it’s something natural since she’s working out in this situation. ^^

More like it's the longest she's been beside someone with almost silk-white skin like Nicole. Imagine putting her beside Aoife.
It could also be lighting. I've been using slightly warm lights in bright environments lately.

Woohoo, I just finished the update and the finale ends in spectacular fashion, once again leaving us with a sense of excitement and strong potential for what's to come.

This chapter delivered some seriously powerful content, filled with intense emotions, major twists, and big revelations. It added a lot of depth to the story and opened the door to plenty of new theories and speculation. I get the feeling that behind Sicae, MBIML, and probably other entries to come, a larger meta-plot is emerging, with the Sovereigns or gods at the very center of it all.

I suspect that a struggle between these beings will determine the fate of the world in this universe and that the serum users were also conceived as a kind of weapon to face that kind of threat. Bonheur seems to hint at that in MBIML, when he’s in a cell being questioned by Aine. Still, the power of the serum corrupts and blinds, which inevitably leads to conflicts over control and influence, something that is especially apparent in Sicae.

Aside from serum users and test subjects, I have the impression that some characters are actually descendants of these Sovereigns. That probably includes our beloved silver-haired yandere, Nicole. She definitely gives off that energy, especially in the sex scene with Lance. She is fun, unpredictable, dangerous, but also probably crucial for what lies ahead in the story.

I also find myself wondering why Claire and her allies chose to erase Irene’s memory.
She didn’t seem particularly dangerous to them, which suggests that something more is being hidden. The reunion between Lance and Irene was incredibly moving, full of raw emotion, and deeply bittersweet. Everything that happens after that moment, up until the night with Nicole, is filled with confusion and sadness.

I felt a bit bad for Nicole too, but I still played that scene because it felt consistent with what was happening. Maybe it was selfish on Lance’s part, but it also came across as a very human way of coping with pain.

Nicole’s obsession, along with her yandere tendencies, is both disturbing and strangely thrilling. She is explosive in every possible way and hard to ignore. :p

The entire casino sequence was brilliant. It was a strong moment of action and intrigue. I do wish Lance had taken a more active role, but the whole setup and execution of the plan were really well done and enjoyable to follow.

And that ending was just incredible. NiiChan clearly loves to torture us emotionally when it comes to Claire. What a tease ! x)

I actually like the presence of French in the title of the next chapter, "cocorico" :D, even if the phrase sounds a bit awkward. It feels like a literal translation of "Behind the Mask" into "Derrière le masque", which doesn’t sound very natural in French.

We would normally say (more correct) "sous le masque", eg "faire tomber le/les masque(s)", "Bas les masques !" (theatric) , or even expressions like (more abstract/general) "sous/derrière les apparences" or "sous/derrière la façade" to convey that kind of idea in French.

Also, ending with the word "national" doesn’t really work in French, even if the intended meaning comes across clearly in the game. The term is indeed heavy and doesn’t make much sense.

If one insist on keeping a similar word in the title, even though I find it unnecessary and superfluous, I would rather suggest something like : "Sous/Derrière le masque de l’État" (works better than "national" in the context), "Sous/Derrière le masque du Gouvernement", "Le masque du gouvernement tombe" ou "le masque de l'État tombe", "Ce qui se cache sous le masque du gouvernement" (a bit lengthy), "Ce que cache le masque de l’État".

Overall, the concept of “state” and/or “government” works better than the term “national” unless it refers to the entire country in a more general and vague way, in which case the words "Pays" and "Nation" on their own are more appropriate in French.

Yes, I was both pleased and tortured by this release. The agony is real.

Agree with most of the things, really loved the episode and sicae all around!

My only minor nitpick with sicae: I didnt get these emotions from the reunion with Irene, in fact: I dont get any kind of emotions relating to Irene and thats imo the only minor flaw. It maybe would have helped to see more of the MC's and Irenes time togehter beforehand or even have a little prequel (no im not asking for a rework lol) showing more of their time together or whatever.

I felt just like: She seems like a nice girl, cool shes back, let see what mysteries unravel with her missing memories, honestly if she would have died during the escape, i would have barely been sad even tho i will probably really like her just because of the fact that i barely know her.

Showing a bit more of why the mc is/was THIS obsessed with her would have been helpful imo.

But anyway, the avn is awesome as it is.

I see what you mean: you would have liked the relationship between Lance and Irene to be more developed, or at least for the narrative to linger on it a bit more so we could be more emotionally invested in their reunion. Maybe NiiChan could have introduced some memories of Lance’s past with her earlier on, perhaps in a prologue or an early chapter, to strengthen the depth of their bond.

That said, even if the memories shown in this update are relatively brief, you can still clearly sense his intention to establish that connection. I can also understand that with all the reworks of the early chapters and the backstories to flesh out for several characters, some things couldn’t be introduced as smoothly or naturally as they might have been.

And of course, the story needed to keep moving forward, so certain compromises were probably necessary. Personally, I didn’t feel that something was missing, and the scene really had the intended emotional impact on me.

The initial nightmare scene of the blindfolded memory of the assault could have been bigger, with more of their relationship leading up to the assault, maybe? For me, I didn't need that, but I jump into stories with both feet.

Yeah i dont want to make a big deal out of it or something, its good enough (talking only about the irene backstory/reunion, everything else is awesome imo) and way better to keep moving forward now instead of fiddling with it again or reworking stuff.

Just saying it could have been better/more emotional, considering how lost and broken the MC was for about a year and despite his harsh upbringing, this girl has to be really really special but we werent really shown why thats the case other than her apparently being a nice girl.

Buuuut its whatever, really

Wait and see, as they say. I have no doubt we’ll learn more about Irene’s past and many other things next time, which will make the wait for the update really, really long ! x) Luckily Gwen and Moon exist in MBIML, they’re my consolation prize. ^^

I get where you’re all coming from, and yeah, a bit more backstory with Irene might’ve made her reunion with Lance hit harder. A few extra flashbacks or small scenes showing why she was so important to him could’ve helped.

That said, I didn’t feel like it hurt the scene too much. I’m more in the “keep the story moving forward” camp now. There’s so much crazy stuff coming, and I’d rather see NiiChan focus on that instead of going back for more reworks.

The rest of the episode? Pure chaos in the best way. Emotional gut punches, wild twists, and that ending… I’m still recovering.

Didnt took it that way, i just tried to explain/point out that it was just meant as a minor nitpick (and i would actually hate it if niichan would rework it lol) and not as bitching about the avn

I really enjoy this avn and how dynamic and fresh everything feels so i felt the need to clarify that it wasnt meant as a big negative thing and more like the only very minor thing i thought could have maybe been better in the episode as everything else was awesome.

Its very rare that i only have such a small nitpick about a whole episode of an avn even when i really like them lol

Yeah, I got the sense that all the buildup with Lance was leading to him finally reuniting with Irene, only for her not to remember him in the end. I think that’s what Niichan was going for. I did feel some emotion from Lance, and while it could’ve hit harder like you mentioned, Niichan still did a good enough job to move the story forward.
