I didn't quite get it (english isn't my native language). Will certain characters die no matter what the player does? Or will we have options? For example, saving one by sacrificing another, etc. (if you're really looking for drama).
As i said earlier:
Not all characters will die, as I've mentioned before on the forum. That would be too predictable, not to mention too grim.
However, I can confirm that unfortunately, on some routes, a main character will die.
For example, let's say you're following Route 1. A character who doesn't appear much in Route 1, but is very present in Route 2, might be the one who dies in your playthrough. Conversely, if you're on a route where a certain character is heavily featured, it's probable that this character will not die on that specific path.
When it comes to the deaths, I really like to work with the concepts of the Butterfly Effect or Chaos Theory. A single different decision can change the future in significant ways. The deaths in the game are designed to feel like a consequence of those choices, not a predestined event.
It's more about that kind of narrative impact. I know this might please some and not others, but it's part of the experience of telling this kind of story.
Since it's not currently a harem game, I'm not interested in starting to play, and I'll probably abandon this thread. If you decide to make it a harem game in the future, I'm very likely to miss that announcement and continue ignoring the game. And I'm sure there will be others like me. If it's going to be a harem game, it's best to make that clear from the beginning, because most of those who leave because it's not a harem game won't come back even if it changes. But it's your game, and you decide how to run it.
I'm sorry to hear that, but I completely understand your interest and your position. I hope that in the future, you'll consider giving the game a chance and experience a bit of the story for what it is. All the best to you.
If you allow me, can I suggest another change?
If you can solve it, please give us the option to name the saves. This would make the routes much easier, especially with so many girls...Thank you for solving this.
I will look into it and see if that's possible. If it is, you can be sure that I'll be happy to implement that change for you.
Ok, sounds good. I know you haven't revealed who the throuple will be yet, but if it isn't Emily and Vicky, I hope maybe an idea or soemthing comes to you that does change plans and allow this, if it isn't in the plans already.
For me, I think a childhood friend, who is loyal, and your long time love are two girls who I think just work together in the common sense of things. In my mind they would both want you to be happy, they usually make the most sense in getting along, they are mor open to sharing you, cause both have known you for a very long time and love and care for us. That is why I want this throuple. It also helps they are my two favorites, but still, just seeing their roles, makes them fit in my mind. Plus I woukd love to see them play with each other during threesomes too.
I don't care if it doesn't have a harem like many others, and am fine with choosing at times but this is my greatest desire and just wanted to explain my thought process and reasoning on this. I am still going to play your game regardless, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't feel let down or that I wouldn't just care less overall without this possibility.
But yeah, like I said just me explaining why I think these two work and other thoughts. If that throuple isn't in the plans, I hope an idea or soemthing does change that. Other than that keep up the great work, haven't played yet, but will really soon.
I remember you fell in love with both of them right from the beginning when I first announced the game. As I've said, I can't reveal too much, but in
Part 2, which I will be releasing later this year, we will get a clear idea of what the first threesome will be.
*sigh
Dude, first off, props - and I honestly envy your patience for going through this whole thread. Not gonna comment on the whole NTR / Anti-NTR topic, on this harem thing though...
Don’t take me wrong, it’s cool that you’re open to adapting things and listening to feedback. But at the same time - your game is either harem or it’s not. You can’t just take a story that wasn’t meant to be one and make it work with a couple of and I quote - "slight adjustments". Unless your LIs suddenly lose their soul and personality, that’s not really possible without breaking immersion.
What actually saddens me is seeing new devs pushed into these kinds of changes. I’ve seen cases where devs tried to "pivot" to a harem mid-story, and it ended up ruining their characters and writing - not to mention turning variables (choices and consequences) into a complete mess.
So yeah, by all means take feedback into consideration, but please don’t sacrifice your vision just to cater to demands. Otherwise, it won’t be your story / game anymore - it’ll just be everyone else’s.
And again, no insult intended - just my 2 cents, take it with a grain of salt.
P.S. On a side note - I really liked your release. Looking forward to the next update.
No problem at all! I'm happy to answer questions. I'm not sure if you've followed the whole thread, but since I decided to create a game and tell a story, it's been a very solitary two-year journey—mostly just me talking to my own mind. That's why I'm truly happy to engage with all of you, even when the comments are critical or when discussions about certain topics arise.
To be clear, the core foundation of the game, the
main plot, is already created and
will not be changed. I know this approach will please some and maybe not others, but that's part of the context of developing a story.
As for certain things being adapted, they will only be implemented if a real opportunity or a great new idea comes up. Sometimes, a poll or a strong request from the community might lead to a change. However, the core vision for the game will be maintained in its essence. I understand your concern about not wanting the game to lose its core identity.
I'm here to learn with all of you. The last thing I ever want is to come across as arrogant or anything like that, especially because, as I've said, I'm quite new to the world of visual novels and even newer to the world of development.
To give you some perspective, I learned programming
specifically to create this visual novel. I don't come from a programming or animation background. I'm a Law School graduate
from my home country (which is not the United States) with a post-grad in Criminology and Criminal Law. Because of this, the laws and legal concepts might differ slightly, but let's assume the game is set in a country with a slightly different legal system.
The only related content I have experience with is that I worked as a
photographer for a time to pay for university. That's why I have a little understanding of scene editing and composition, which has been very helpful.
I only got into the world of visual novels during the pandemic. As you all know, many of us felt very isolated in our homes, and I discovered this world. I ended up loving it, and about two years ago, I decided to create my own game. Because those two years were so focused on learning and creating, I admit I didn't follow the VN world very closely. That might be why I sometimes seem a bit naive about certain themes.
