It's interesting...lovely renders...story seems solid (though nothing terribly new)...but the shaky cam is just annoying as fuck and kills any reason for me to want to continue with it.

Best of luck with your project dev.

I've been working behind the scenes to implement the corrections you've all suggested.

Based on your feedback, I'd like to present to you the new Kate (formerly known as Keith), now without the problematic face tattoo.

Here she is:

Thanks again for your sharp eyes and for helping me make the game better. More updates to come!

The camera shake effect when not in POV was removed on the upcoming hotfix update. Thanks.

This annoys also?
For me...yes. It's completely unrealistic. Other people in constant motion, little jarring but is an art style and you wouldn't be the first to use it. But the ever so slight overall movement...I'd have to ask why? Are you a lover of FPS games too because of 'immersion' when in reality, there is absolutely nothing realistic or immersive about them either.

When you look at someone...having a conversation with them...is everything in your vision moving slightly? The answer is no, it isn't...just seems a very strange choice to me. However, it is your VN and would always recommend you doing what you want with your VN.

I just find any movement other than the character you're looking at...to just be very annoying and distracting and adds absolutely nothing. It's like the MC is walking with his phone and we're seeing everything from the POV of the phone. It wasn't fun in Blair Witch et-al and you'll notice that silly craze very quickly disappeared as fast as it arrived.

But that's just me. I see only two people (myself included in that) have made mention of it after skimming the thread, so the problem is obviously ours and the majority have no issue with it.

Hmm, interesting. I thought it might bother some players, to be honest.

I was trying to go for a breathing effect, but it seems I didn't quite nail it. I'll think about either improving it or just taking it out.

I'll have a fix for it in next week's update. Yeah, I was trying to go for an FPS-style head bob. lol. Thanks for the feedback.

Ok, sounds good. I know you haven't revealed who the throuple will be yet, but if it isn't Emily and Vicky, I hope maybe an idea or soemthing comes to you that does change plans and allow this, if it isn't in the plans already.

For me, I think a childhood friend, who is loyal, and your long time love are two girls who I think just work together in the common sense of things. In my mind they would both want you to be happy, they usually make the most sense in getting along, they are mor open to sharing you, cause both have known you for a very long time and love and care for us. That is why I want this throuple. It also helps they are my two favorites, but still, just seeing their roles, makes them fit in my mind. Plus I woukd love to see them play with each other during threesomes too.:giggle:

I don't care if it doesn't have a harem like many others, and am fine with choosing at times but this is my greatest desire and just wanted to explain my thought process and reasoning on this. I am still going to play your game regardless, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't feel let down or that I wouldn't just care less overall without this possibility.

But yeah, like I said just me explaining why I think these two work and other thoughts. If that throuple isn't in the plans, I hope an idea or soemthing does change that. Other than that keep up the great work, haven't played yet, but will really soon.
Totally disagree dude. MCs and Vicky's relationship is very realistic, but it's toxic af. MC acts pathetic when it comes to her and she doesn't seem to respect him. Honestly can't blame her for it too much considering how the MC acts. I get the feeling that Emily doesn't actually like Vicky is just being a good supportive friend. Emily + Madison make the most sense throuple wise out of the characters shown so far.

Mr.Kin OK I finished the first part, I really enjoyed it and am excited to see more. I may mention somethings others said, cause I can't remember all of other people's feedback, but I am putting in spoiler. The good and needs improvement feedback will be mixed together, and I may ramble a bit about other things. Also may forget somethings, but if I do, I can always post a new comment in the future.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Maybe I forgot some things, maybe I talked too much, but I hope you take some of these changes to heart and makes them, and I am exctied to play more. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I gusss so far, keyword, so far. But I think that is literally cause those are really the only two LI's we seen interact in this first part. So we don't have much more to go off of. And I think not everything needs to be sunshine and rainbows from the start, we can have some drama or a hard path to reach the throuple.

For me, I don't think I ever will change the thing I want most, will it happen? I really hope so, I saw this game on the development thread here and locked on to those two from the start and has been my biggest want. I just have to stay hopeful I will get my ending with these two.

Madison and Emily are cute together, I do like them. In a ideal world maybe the dev can work out a way where both of these are throuples. So just two, no more. Other girls can be solo only, but Emily can maybe be the more flexible LI since she is a childhood friend. Maybe Emily could work with both Madison and Vicky, just a thought, and maybe and idea, but I guess we just have to wait and see.

Finished both routes and I have to say so far I really like it so I will list a few things I liked
Things I liked:
-The plot was definitely pretty good going from modern day to the past and setting up not only the plot point but also developing the characters is good it will be interesting how each LI will be in the present day.
- Animations are absolutely top tier I loved them especially the background and character idle ones was a really nice touch
-The girls look fantastic and are lovely out of the 4 we saw I loved Madi and Keith also Emily is fine but needs more time as for Vicky idk I'm going to be honest I feel like she's hiding something nobody is that busy all the time sounds like bs. I cant wait to meet the other girls.
-I like that the branching actually changes the story or at the very least the order it was interesting meeting Madi and becoming part of the friends circle if you speak to her and on the Vicky path you talk to her later on and is still a stranger I am a sucker for complex branching games.
-I like that the assets used for both the models and the backgrounds are unique and aren't the same copy paste one we see in every AVN
-I like the tone of the relationships and intimacy it isn't just having sex for simple fucking but because there is a connection and love that post sex cuddling with Madi on the couch was such a cute scene I love little details like that.
-I like that it's single route and not another boring harem copy paste game I always been a sucker for single route games.

Now what I did not like:
-The shaking of the camera gave me motion sickness I did get sort of used to it but man at the start it made me so dizzy I had to take a break from playing it like halfway.
-The music is way too low I had my headphones on max volume and it was still very hard to hear the music and sound effects.
-Not a fan of locking certain girls to certain paths instantly like I would love if the player had a bit more time to fool around or date some girls before choosing one for example on Madi route you can cheat on Vicky or not either way seems like he will break up with her and on the other side if you choose to pick Vickys path you totally skip on meeting Madi completely.

Things I am Neutral on:
-Deaths it could either bring some interesting spice to the game or completely ruin the game it sort of depends how they are implemented on to the game although if I had to sacrifice a girl it would be Vicky lol

Overall I think it has a super strong start lot of unique things from plot, models and setting it just needs some polish especially on the girls routes it's a bit confusing at the moment how they work and how will it work for the rest of the girls for example for Emily or Keith does the player have to be on Vickys route or Madis? if so what options does the player have to choose and how will the rest of the girls paths work, I think that's what confused me the most about it, but like I said overall I really enjoyed it can't wait for episode 2 my interest is certainty peaked very good start props to the dev!

I haven't tried it yet, but I agree with you on this point. I can't remember an example where shaking would look appropriate.

Thanks for the reply.

I think part of the problem is translation of effects. At the start, the camera is moving around when the reporter is talking. When you watch the news, is the camera moving around? It isn't no and if it was, you'd probably mutter to yourself for him to do his job properly lol.

Now....even if in reality.....there is slight movement, you as the viewer never seen it. So translating that to a screen the viewer is looking at....just looks off. Does that make sense? Same with my first example of when you are talking to someone in my previous post. Even if there is movement....your eyes, peripheral vision, brain...you don't see it. So to try and recreate it on a flat screen the player is looking at.....it's just all wrong.

Now....if the MC had just run 3 miles and was catching his breath....was a little dizzy etc....i could see it working somewhat then...but generally, not for me.

However, once again as I said before....it's your VN and your story and you should make it how you see fit. There will always be people who don't gel with it and that's fine. Again, the majority seem fine with it so take my words as opinion only.

The rest really is pretty good....you have a solid start for sure so keep up the great work.

Yes, all of the camera shake will be removed, including both the non-POV and POV scenes. Moving forward, I'll be saving the camera shake effect only for specific situations, like action scenes or moments of high impact. For general dialogue and exploration, I will remove it to avoid issues. I have already made this correction. This fix will be released in the new build next week, along with the other changes I've announced.

I was trying to avoid making the audio too loud and overpowering, but it seems I went too far in the other direction.

In the next update, I will try to increase the overall sfx volume by about 50%. This should provide a better baseline, and from there, everyone can adjust the in-game sliders to their personal preference. I appreciate you pointing this out!

I've seen a few questions about who might die and when. While I can't give away any major spoilers, I can say that the upcoming updates will begin to give you a clearer understanding of the stakes and how your choices will start to impact the fate of the characters. You'll definitely get more insight as the story unfolds.

Sfx during sex:
This is a bit complicated for me at the moment because I have to work with pre-produced sounds. I've noticed that some visual novels hire voice actors to improve these scenes, which is something I'd love to do for the game. If I get some financial return in the future, hiring voice actors to make the visual novel even better is one of the first things I'd like to do. For now, though, I can't improve this aspect much.
Fast Pacing in the Flashback:
I can agree with you that some of the movements might feel a bit fast. Because I thought of this episode as a flashback, I didn't want to spend too much time at the university, since the main story will be focused on the investigation. However, this is something I can take into consideration for future updates. It's possible I could add new content and scenes to fill in some of these gaps between events and create more involvement there.

hat correction has actually already been made. In the next update, the text will appear instantly. Taking your feedback into consideration, I will also increase the spacing between the lines a bit to improve readability.
Name and last name:
That's a fantastic idea! I think it's something that is easy enough to implement. I will add this feature. At the beginning of the game, it would ask for your first name, then your last name, and then perhaps a nickname. That way, characters with more intimacy could call you by your nickname, while in more formal situations, they could use your first or last name. I really like that. Thank you for the suggestion.

-I will say I might be mixed on nickname part, just cause I already go by nickname in real life, so I use that for my first name in games, and that would create a conundrum of what to put there. I think my only issue was maybe just have first name for textbox of who is speaking and for characters to just use our first names not first and last like everytime.
- Totally understand about sfx, not a big deal, not my biggest concern, so no problem there.
- I think retroactively adding stuff could be cool to flashbacks, but I don't think this should be your major concern, its fine that its a bit quick for now, you can maybe add stuff much later but right now I think focus on moving story along, don't worry about this right now.
- One thing I would love changed down the line though in the flashbacks is just how we choose Madison and Vicky routes. Maybe a different choice leads fo the split, but I feel like that first choice is a bit unintuative, like many might not realize different routes, just helping someone, shouldn't mean automatic one path, closing off the other, I believe Friends can exist, so that is something I wish was different.
- But other than that I know you didn't respond to all my points like making sex scenes feel better and it jumping too much around(Really hope for this change in future sex scenes), or possible mini menu hide option, etc. I at least hope you took the other things I said to Heart for the future with my other desires and feedback in there. I am gonna stop rambling now, I have been saying too much in this thread overall right now.

The breathing is a bit distracting. I would think it costs a lot of resources for little return. You could take out the breathing and it would not change the story at all.

Thanks for the reply and yea those changes would be welcomed it's nice to see a dev so receptive to feedback I think everything you mentioned addresses all the small gripes I had so I have nothing more to say for now other than I wish you good luck dev I am looking forward to episode 2! I will be keeping my eyes peeled on the development of the game.

That way, characters with more intimacy could call you by your nickname, while in more formal situations, they could use your first or last name. I really like that. Thank you for the suggestion.
I actually respect you so much, you continue to take feedback and criticism and turn it into how can I improve from this instead of letting it hurt your feelings or just saying you're right and the player is wrong. I havent played this game yet, but when I do and if I enjoy it enough I will support you just for the fact of you being a great dev and actually listening to what people say. Obviously you cant do what everyone wants and shouldnt. But I think thats for your best judgement to decide who to listen to and change based on whats said. Anyways from what I can see from some of the comments and the screenshots I think this game will be something I enjoy!

SFX & Flashback Pacing: Adding more content to the flashback is a "nice to have" idea for much later down the road. I've been thinking a lot about your feedback on Part 1, and I've spent the last couple of days brainstorming and outlining ways to improve it. I'm not ready to share the specifics just yet, but my current plan is to release a revamped and improved version of Part 1 alongside the release of Part 2, which I'm aiming for by the end of the year. You can expect to see many of the points we've discussed significantly improved.
In the more immediate future, I'll be applying the technical changes we talked about in the update planned for next week. This will include the removal of the camera shake and the other quality-of-life fixes.

The Route Choice: This is your most significant point, and honestly, it's something I've thought a lot about. I can completely see why you feel it's unintuitive. My intention for that first choice wasn't just "help vs. don't help," but to create a 'butterfly effect' moment. It's less about "do you want to be friends with Madison?" and more about "where does the MC invest his limited emotional energy at this crucial crossroads?" Choosing to engage with her pain sets his story on one path, while choosing to focus on his own problems (Vicky) sets him on another.

Unaddressed Points: You're right, I didn't get to all of your points in my last post, my apologies for that. But please know that I have read them all and taken them to heart. Especially your feedback on the pacing of NSFW scenes and making them feel better is something I am already applying to the development of Part 2. It's a top priority to improve that aspect.
The breathing is a bit distracting. I would think it costs a lot of resources for little return. You could take out the breathing and it would not change the story at all.
It will be removed on the update next week. Sorry for that.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate you saying that. Hearing that you feel I'm receptive to feedback is honestly the best compliment I could ask for. It's the community's passion and sharp eyes that will make this game what it can be. I'm glad the planned changes address your concerns. I'm really excited for Part 2 as well, and I can't wait for you to play it.

Honestly, your message means a great deal to me, especially coming from someone who hasn't even played the game yet. You've perfectly captured my philosophy on this. As a solo developer, I can't do what everyone wants, but my best judgment comes from listening carefully to what the community has to say. Hearing that my approach is respected is incredibly motivating.

Since you haven't played yet, I'd actually suggest you wait just a little longer if you can. Next week, I will be updating all the links with a new build that includes the first wave of Quality of Life improvements (like the instant text and camera shake options). I think it will provide a much better first experience.

I truly hope the game will live up to your expectations when you get to play it, and I'm excited for you to finally dive in. Thanks.
