I'm sorry the mac version is having issues.
I'm unable to test on Mac since I don't have one. If you want to run it, I suggest using winehq to run the windows version.

I haven't played yet but as far as i know they are set in the same world but different characters so there should be no need to play the other game if you don't want to for whatever reason, but it is a good game.
