Wait, what? To satisfy my own curiosity, what is the derogatory name people have given him?
I might be biased, because this is the only release I've ever played, but this is one of the best games with the hypnotism/mind control kink I've encountered. That might say more about the genre being rare than this being a great effort, but I would still place it in my top three, and after those there's a steep drop-off, which makes it look amazing to me by comparison. The pacing is absolutely perfect, (I fucking hate when the PC can just make anyone do anything instantly, I thought the way you got gradually more powerful every day was really awesome!), and the writing is pretty good for the most part. I struggle to get through some visual novels, but I didn't have that problem here. I'm not too fond of some of the dirty-talk by Noelle, but that's hard to do right, imho.
I don't think the sketches were better than the in game art either; the sketches have some crazy proportions, and the in game art looks a lot more natural to me. I wish the final scenes had been implemented to see the final versions with those proportions, but I was pretty happy with the base game, and they felt like nice little extras to me. Plus, the harem ending is the one I care the most about, and that seemed fine.
It sounds like the dude could've handled his shit better, but still... if he's an incompetent, lazy asshole, with no idea what he's doing, this is an amazing game coming from that. I'm all of those things, and I wouldn't produce a third of the quality here, even if you gave me a few releases to work on it. I'm usually very critical, and rarely the type of person to say this, but I think you're focusing just a bit too much on the bad here, when there's actually a lot of good.

By "sketches better than in game art" I meant day 5 onward in terms of being "Final sex scenes". Everyone's final scene was abysmal. Barely finished, badly drawn, bad proportions(even worse than the sketches), weird expressions(those faces actually became a meme for a little while), lazy pov, floating penis, horrendous "Animation" etc. obviously rushed and really awkward
The final harem orgy is similarly rushed with it being poorly/awkwardly drawn and implemented even worse (that scene is buggy as shit for a reason.) and it was almost better with the improved cgs....that only flash for 2 seconds. Like at least the sketches are actual sex scenes with the characters finally. That's what I mean
In terms of it being one of the best hypno games...probably? This genre isn't really my thing but the hypnotism here was handled better than the vast majority of lewd stuff I've ever seen. usually it's just magic mind control but here it's pretty well written.
In terms of the incompetence and laziness...you need to have followed the development since the beginning. Took this guy years, YEARS to produce a game that other people would finish in months. Like seriously this whole game is the equivalent of one good update for other games...
the up[date schedule was ridiculously slow for the 4th and 5th day which I'm pretty sure were being hyped for like a full year. Every single time he had a release date it got delayed.
Days 1-3 were pretty great. Day 4 is when things started to decline. Day 4 things were still good but starting to fall off. the lazyness started setting in but nothing...damning. We started getting signs of things to come with the lazy sex scene cg situation
The finale was where the infamous part comes in. Ridiculous delays. Still somehow managed to be rushed, everything in it was clearly just trying to reach the end as quick as possible, almost everyones character went to shit, final scenes were rushed, endings were rushed(before the sketches we basically had nothing), it was buggy as shit EVEN MORE THAN IT IS NOW, it was just awful content after all the delays...and then there were multiple updates afterward....that STILL didn't fix the major issues....and the major issues are STILL NOT FIXED!
And honestly, the game is lacking even if it was properly finished. Lack of paths, minimal interactions outside of the scenes not really that many scenes, the animations are bad, the art is inconsistent as fuck(CG noelle and sprite noelle are like....entirely different people) There are a couple bad endings but they're mostly the same.
So yeah, poorly handled in terms of PR, took years to produce an unfinished broken buggy version of an already flawed relatively small game despite having a lot of money and a full team. That's where the charges of incompetence and laziness come from
As for the writing its the second best part about this(obviously the art style/designs are the best part)...for the first few days. Pacing is good(for the first few days) characters are well handled(for the first few days, with flashes of goodness in the last one) hell at some points every once in awhile, the writing reaches into GREAT territory at least for a porn game. Everything about Jane's character, for instance, is like. shockingly good. Like there LAYERS here. But yeah I ended up remembering why I ended up liking it so much and why I was so disappointed when it went to shit from day 5 onward.
But even in terms of writing there's a huge flaw the sex scenes.. The guy can't write em. Some of laziest sex scenes I've ever seen writing wise pretty much with the exception of jane(who once again has the best writing in the game) Dude is terrible at describing things IF he describes them at all. Dialogue is below porn tier somehow. Hearing the voice actors, bless their hearts, try to deliver these awkward lines is cringe......Especially since a lot of the lines clearly were NOT written to be said out loud by an actual human. Its fine sometimes, but incredibly cringe at others.
But the worst part is that...like the scenes go by so fast and they lack any sort of passion. Like seriously. do an experiment to test this out. repeat one of the sex scenes in this game....but don't look at the art. Just he text. Like, it's like this guy doesn't want to do sex scenes at all, thats how little he seems to care. Jane is about the only one that actually gets good scenes in this regard(again)
Of course all the problems get worse in day 5. The dialogue becomes laughably unbearable, the sex scenes....just...wow. The characters go to shit for the most part, just...whoo boy is it godawful
But yeah OTHER THAN THAT. The writing is really good for the first few days especially by porn game standards.
The game had a lot of potential to be pretty damn good and it delivered on...maybe 59% of that potential but yeah. It's a rushed unfinished version of what would have been a pretty nice, but flawed/inconsistent game.
