Damn, as much as I have mixed feelings about the game I respect the devs for coming back here knowing what they have in store for them.

I do have a question I'm not sure has been answered: will the bordello, glamour slam, cells, all of those pretty much be on pause for the forseeable future until the main events are complete? The Bordello was one of my favorite parts of the game so I'm just curious if any of that style of content, even if separate from the Unity overworld in these Ren'Py events will be worked on in any capacity. Something akin to visits to those places with some content in a linear story-type thing as part of these bigger events would count in what I'm asking.

Kfy, thanks for the great question. As for the bordello we have plans to re-visit it with stream content (we have a bunch piled up). As for cells, the costumes alone make it a no-go. SR7 adding a single BJ picture would have to redrawn more than a dozen times, and then we have to do that for every cell. We have explored ideas to help cell content move forward in a more dev friendly fashion.

I do believe the style of content people love about the cells can be put in other places. It just needs to be planned out well.

you would be. This thread would not be. On this page alone you can see someone who wants a bunch of gameplay elements added, no one will ever agree on art, there will be infinite AI claims, complaints events aren’t done, characters they don’t like are included. Etc.

The only thing anyone here agrees on is they don’t like the game. None of you can agree on why or what will make you happy.

Apologies if I've missed the design intent in another message somewhere - I'm a little confused by these two statements.

What was really enjoyable about the Cell content - at least for me, specifically - was:

• The classic Bruce Timm inspired artstyle, as opposed to the hypermuscular style seen in updates like Themiscyra/Gotham
• The good variety of scenes/positions for a girl, randing from handjob to BJ to vaginal etc.
• The ability to enjoy the above scenes with different outfit combinations

And to be honest, those above three bullet points are the very things I loved about SU for many years (including in the Bordello, since there were some outfit choices there too). It was some of the best adult content in the entire sphere, for a long while.

When you say that's a no-go, but then you say the style of content people love can be put elsewhere - what do you mean by that style of content? Are those three bullets above a no-go from now on?

If you are going to move to Ren'py, maybe as an option you will rework the old content (Roulette, Tala, etc.)? And for heaven's sake, make the scenes move SMOOTHLY from top to bottom, like in Unity.

Much as this will likely delay things it feels like this is the right move. It is long overdue with the Unity version's messiness and it'll at least make things easier and more consistent moving forward.

I can only speak for myself but I wish this had more gang-bangs, yuri, orgies and more with the corruption.

Behind The Doom for example showed different characters banging as Doom was spying on them for blackmail material on different heroes.

Lex getting Supergirl to bang Superman or a double penetration of Batgirl, Nightwing and Batman would be pretty cool.

Wow, did not think the decision to move to Renpy for PC would be made, at least not this quickly, I won't claim it as my suggestion, I was just the most recent person to bring it up (I do think that the timing for it is right). Good luck with learning Python, I believe it is the right decision, especially because you guys dislike the company, this would gives the immediate option of using Renpy for any future games (Yes, there are many people here who would call out GG and say they will milk this game forever. Maybe, maybe not - idc really, does not make my statement untrue).

Shame, I wanted to see the character list expand, also kinda wanted to see the slutty superhero costume of all the characters (personally was not a fan of huntress's final costume).
With that in mind how open to idea of making the Renpy game properly mod-able so that fan edits can be added, for personal use?

How could there be Ai claim if the art is at the same level as before...? People complain about AI, I'm one of them, because the art got absolutely worse those last few years. People don't say AI is bad for nothing, it's because they thought that they already been using it. Ultimately what matters is the quality. People or Gunsmoke maybe overestimate what AI can do, it's fun but doesn't replace a good artist like Sunset, it gives a lot of challenges with layers, but also just consistency.

I've been positive about the game for a while. But ultimately you can't defend when the art which is by the best appeal of the game, get worse, and that it doesn't finish any content it started, and also add more and more delays.

Like why giving money for a project you can't expect to continue working on what it started.

We're not anticipating a delay. Unity updating was slated for a few months from now, so now we will just release the Ren'py version with a section of images re-exported to the higher quality.

Blackmail is against Patreon ToS so we can't use it. SR7 has been working on multiple character scenes in the recent Gotham update. Also I agree the corruption story lines have been thin, as Gotham has played more into the Power dynamic.

Your statement made me go back and talk with the team about the requirements. It was a conversation that hadn't happened in a few years tbh. So thank you for the insight.

I do recognize how much extra work the traditional "cell format" is, having several different versions per scene to accommodate the costumes. That was one of my favorite features though, and something that made SU stand out even more to me. Unlocking both the new scenes and the new costumes. And unlocking a new costume was the perfect reason to go through the older actions again (like choosing a Dance or a BJ again even if you've advanced on to Sex and Anal) because now you could see it with a new outfit

Plus it also made the character roster feel like a "collection", and like they were property. Even going as far as getting to dictate what clothes they each wear (if any), all just depending on your mood. Like having all of them dress in their slut outfits one night. And the character combos (even more work, I know!) could create some very interesting scenes. I remember one favorite of mine was having Cheshire wear her suit costume and Artemis wear her schoolgirl one, so that their scenes looked like it had a "Teacher and Naughty Schoolgirl" dynamic going on. Or have them both wear the schoolgirl outfits, etc.

If they were all just *naked*, and that was it, it would essentially make every scene feel more like just a one-and-done. Not that the scenes that are more kind of 'one-and-done's aren't awesome too, but the costumes were something that made the cells special and really stand out. That being said, I agree that it wouldn't be feasible for *every single character* to get the "full cell treatment" of course. And pretty much every character would have at least a few fans that would want that for them. It's impossible to please everyone.

But in general, while I do see how the cells are a shit-ton of work comparatively, imho as a fan, it's one of the key features that put SU on a whole other level. If SR7 ever decided he just doesn't want to do them anymore then that'd be of course his call. The quality would suffer anyway if he just hated doing it and tried to force himself through the work.


Tldr: For whatever it's worth, even if he ever stopped the cells entirely: the time and effort that was required to make the cells what they are is both acknowledged and appreciated (I can only speak for myself, but I'm sure I'm not alone on that one lol)!

if you look for it, i think i posted a potential plot for Mary Marvel here.

Short version: The standard would be "henchwoman/Villainess doms the heroine", but doing that all the time gets a bit stale. So, i thought it'd be fun if the two actually start to like each other and develop a Big SIs/Lil Sis dynamic, with Mary, like Vixen, coming around quickly (she remembers the cell stuff, but finds that she likes it, because of how her powers work). She then gets the cover story of having won an internship at LexCorp (with an appartment paid for by the company) and is using that to keep an eye on Lex.

Stick to Timm's art style, proper character proportions and finish older content first. That's all that is needed.

All the "men but not men" in Thymescera and characters being changed to the same copy-paste poses and giant tits and ass is a disservice to the great work SR7 has done for ages before.
