The animations in this game can get insanely choppy at times to the point its near unplayable. Some other people also seem to have problems with the animations too.
I had zero issues with it, the issue is entirely on your end with something going on at your end and it wasn't the game
Weird how it only happens in this game and not the hundreds of other games, ren'py, unreal or unity, I've played. Interesting.

This Gallery Unlocker works for the game. (v0.7)
It's a generic GU, so there may be slight issues. Mostly it's cosmetic.
Unzip the file and put "game file" in the game folder directory.

It has something to do with the blink. I'm not a code monkey, but I think that's it. My screen gets a slight flutter when someone blinks. It's not that noticeable. The screen is not going crazy, but it's annoying.

Now for something completely different.
The art is very good, IMO, and there is a lot of content. But I couldn't play the game because the Engrish is pretty bad, and the flutter is annoying. So, I found a mod for the gallery.
This Gallery Unlocker works for the game.
Unzip the file and put "game file" in the game folder directory.

Can this Gallery Unlocker be put in the OP?
can confirm strange flickering on random image, first notice it when you sitting on the stairs with the landlady
then animations spiking my 12700f to 90% cpu usage on some scenes and 60-70% on others, my 4070 super doing nothing
i use to have this issue on my old pc on just some game (renpy really is easy to run for the most part) too but it was super old and this is the first game in 1 year i have this problem with
the other game im playing now is "my dorm" and animations use 10% cpu and gpu 3%
from what i remember it was a problem with some renpy versions or file formats but this game use renpy 8.2.3.24XX
and my dorm use a older 8,0 something so thats makes no sense
will try to find some old treads this weekend and see if i can remember how/if i fixed it

Thank you! I mean damn man, I played games like city of broken dreamers, or the seven realms, which have amazing animations, and the cpu barely went over 10%, gpu didn't even wake up. But yeah, let's just be sarcastic and snarky for no reason because it's totally somehow the player's fault...

You'll note the image is actually faux-animation. The flicker occurs for me too and it happens when the landlady aka Amelia, blinks. Doesn't really spike my system though, so no idea what's happening with you folks.
Anyway, just wanted to add that I am so bummed about this game. Perusing the images external of the game, and it seems to have some quality trans content but unfortunately, the MC and most of the other characters are butt-fucking-ugly, and the writing is abysmal--"You don't how to play. I can't teach you. Just another dollar each lesson." "Good night, guys! Name is Greyson." WTAF? I'd wonder if this is the result of bad machine translation but considering there is no other language available it makes you think the worst of the dev. Hard pass from me.
