That's good and all but the essence of patreon is they are getting paid to provide
i dont think this is the actual essence of patreon, though. you support someone bc you want them to continue what they are doing. you dont support so that you get 'rewards'. rewards are like your... well. rewards.

well, that's how i see it anyway

That's good and all but the essence of patreon is they are getting paid to provide, supporters subscribe to them hoping they will come up with something worth their pledges. Sure they justified their slow progression but still kind of a dick move leaving your supporters hanging with little new content every few months. Pretty good gig he has going though he's learning and people are paying him, win win.
Not really. I and others have already stated countless times that Patreon doesn't likely regulate what work is acceptable to any degree. Patreon is better served as a tip jar for budding artists. I'm not even sure they are obligated in any way beyond the bulleted rewards shown when you sub to someone, maybe not even that either. People treat it like giving someone on Twitch Bits and expecting them to preform in some way specifically for it. There's no rule that a streamer has to do dick-didly for Bits. Hell they could cut their stream the moment someone drops any and Twitch wouldn't bat an eye at it. People give Bits as a tip for the show they've given, not because they expect something in return out of it. It's a pat on the back, not a "now dance for me" trade.

And why should i give them Money if nothing comes back?
In my eyes this H-game developers get paid to make the game which they show on there patreon side.
Dont get this wrong, i really ask to understand. (English is not my native language).

as ive said. you pay if you like what they are doing. its a SUPPORT, you support em bc you want them to continue what they are doing. see it as this. there are lots of youtube channels that gets dicked by youtube bc youtube is stupid, therefore they dont get monetization. now they turn to patreon to get some support from the people. you dont pay them to get specific videos you want. you pay them to keep the channel alive. to SUPPORT. the bulleted rewards from patreon is like their 'thanks' to you. you dont pay for those, those are 'thanks'

i hope that answers your question.

if you really want to pay for the h-game. you wait for the finish product. and buy it.

And those supporters should be aware of this. Unlike many other porn related Patreons (and possibly non porn as well), Mithos is transparent. If you're a supporter and don't like that he's using his time and resources to learn what he says he's learning, then you can simply drop the support. Patreon is not a storefront where you use your money to buy a product. You support a creator so they may continue doing what they're doing.

In essence Patreon is indeed a tip jar with pledge tiers being a "thank you".

But Mithos isn't just getting supported to learn UE, because they think it's so swell he's learning a new skill.
He's getting supported, because he knew damn well horny people will pay up for boobs. If making this porn game was his passionproject that requires him to learn UE, that's fair and I think that's what most people sign up for. But he's advertising a porn game, but clearly not that invested in it. If he could make the same money by doing a different project, he would.

So this isn't just a tipping situation. He is catering to his supporters beyond his ambitions while for many youtubers that isn't the case (though for plenty it is)

I don't really mind, I'm not a patreon, but this is a morally gray situation, it is a commercial exchange, not so much "supporting a budding artist"

Ask yourself if the one you're backing would still want to make the stuff if no money was involved. If not, than you're not just tipping. And for many artists, youtubers, they'd still want to do what they're doing. Like Shadman, you couldn't stop him from drawing porn.

That looks a whole lot more fun and interesting than the stuff we have currently. Anyone have that build lying around?

Idk if we could conclude that yet. He did change a lot. Besides, I really like his whole game idea, the MC, animations and all.
Trust me, the newer animations have sone corners cut that the old ones didn't.

The most obvious is that some parts of the body are completely static during some animations. As a whole, they still work, but if you focus on it, it's incredibly distracting and unnatural.

I really liked the prior builds, because his animations were creative, expressive and detailed. The new ones, not so. Better than a lot of alpha's but worse than his prior work.

I know the most recent gallery build is there, from 2020. I was referring to the really old gallery build, from around the time of that screenshot, which would have been pre-2018.

Wow, um, I downloaded a build from 2016, and it seems to be better than what we have now in pretty much every way. No silly melee attack or six-shooter. Simpler casting spells system and a basic spell auto-attack. Simpler charm system (sneak up and just press space; no hammering the e button), you hold you breasts while running if naked, and you had access to a different outfit.

What the heck went wrong with this project, over the past 4 years?

Its basically a pet project by the developer while they are studying game development. Think of it like a midterm exam instead of a final and adjust your expectations accordingly.

Admittedly it's been a while since I played this game, but I think those things still exist in the game. Don't they? The outfit can be changed with a keyboard key (I think N or B, or some other key around that part of the keyboard).

Even the ones from back then which are still in todays' builds look better in the old one. I don't understand why anyone would downscale like that.
