The reasons it makes, no more sense than porn logic... You seem to be suggesting that a highly educated top level executive having to deal with light trauma/blackmail situations would go murderous vengeful murderer in the span of a few weeks. Laura hasn't been subjected to any violent brutal rapes, no matter what people want to call rape in today's society.
Laura is highly educated and smart not violent, so it stands to reason she would and is using the tools at her disposal to fight back, her friends, her brains, her observations and constantly looking for a weak spot to escape. So knowing what we know about her situation as it stands today, her current situation is much more realistic than her going to get a gun and shooting someone.
Look I like her body, the rape setups,and the clothing. The "plot" allows a sexy supposedly intelligent bitch to be abused and humiliated by powerful evil dominator's. I say evil because no one who forces a women to do what they coerce her to do is anything less then evil. My suggestion about guns or knives or whatever was just being provocative. This game is not an action movie,film noir or a serial killer story and so guns in this tale are largely unseen or wagged around for threat purposes.Gun play would be distasteful and out of genre form in a porn NTR corruption detective soap like this.
That she thinks her entrapment can be manipulated in this profoundly corrupt fantasy city stretches the credibility of logic.But that's okay because it allows the author to showcase every level of depravity that can be perpetrated on this sexy submissive, soon to be exhibitionist prostitute. She makes little creative attempts before or during her physical and mental abuse to reduce the level and extent of the abuse-other then the usual "I'll fuck him harder so he cums sooner". She lets those tits fly outside her outfits anywhere anytime. Proud of them I guess and certainly not shy. Her outbursts of shock from each new horror presented to her amount to the kind of short blurted "OW" you do when you stub your toe. It fades without follow-up. She quickly accepts and folds. She is clearly presented as a fuckmeat prop with the detective plot a thin porn action framework. Her quest provides the stereotypical ascending ladder of porn scene atrocities. You know the scenes;groping,dress humiliation,strip show, dildo masturbation,stripping at gun point, BJ,rape,anal rape,gang rape,forced lesbianism,husband cucking,prostituting,marriage threat,virgin anal rape,gang rape.
Her high level executive title is window dressing-she has zero agency,self or otherwise. She never prepares for physical threat-she leaves herself defenseless. She slides easily, without much mental turmoil ( a pleasant lunch with a friend dressed like a whore after a previous days rape) into each descending level of depraved behavior. No doubt she'll reach her justice goal. Silliness like this needs a happy ending. Unlikely they show a more realistic end for a victim of such abuse (voluntarily doing something under threat is not acceptance). Trauma,therapy,PTSD or a mind broken shell of a woman craving abuse and self harm. Perhaps even a trafficked women disappeared once she is used up. Dark it's true but probably closer to real.
BTW Intelligence and violence are not mutually exclusive, Her intelligence is assumed here not proven. The inner and outer dialog given this character throughout does nothing to dispel my conclusion. I can't help it if I was looking for something a little more raw.This is just my opinion and it was fun to opine.My experience was good. I'm sure you will enjoy the story and that's great. It's actually a big nasty fun tale for what it is. You can't beats Laura's calves or ass..or, well maybe you can! I'm likely dropping it as I have others to keep up with so consider this my last comment.
