Akabur... Often copied, never equaled.

I contest this. Rubberduck's games are really not bad, but playing finished versions I had to fight the thought what else could have been included for great benefit.

WT with other rooms to explore and more NPCs (we are talking boarding school here), PT with challenging the cocky NPC opponent and taking over, BB with screwing Lara but seems unfinished - basically a begin, but even Balsamique's 'Dune' had more action... So many possibilities omitted. :/

For 1 year of work

No one believe Akabur worked for a whole year on this. Including his patrons, like myself. Don't really care. I bought my ticket. I knew what I was getting into.

By the way, got a patron email from Akabur this morning that said this:

"Now I think it is time to share some of my post-release thoughts.

First of all let me assure you that my main strategy for Episode 03 has not changed. I still plan to make it way shorter and release it way quicker.

Also I plan to do a bit more drawing and a bit more writing this time around. Many of you enjoyed the story of episode 02 it seems, and I can't be happier about that. But looking back now I realize how much time it took me to write that story. And please don't forget that I also commissioned other artists to work on some of the chibi animations, the episode title screen and some other minor things. All that resulted in me barely drawing anything for the past 10 months or so...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy writing, but not nearly as much as I enjoy drawing... So I will have to give all that a bit more thought, but the general idea for now is to spend a bit more time drawing crap and a bit less time writing crap, while working on episode 03.

Next thing is sexy scenes with Genie. This time around a lot of you told me (in one way or another) that Genie needs to be more active with the girls. And I hear you and agree. But this should be done in a way that would make sense inside the game world and also not multiply my workload too much... No idea, how I am going to do that... All I can say for now, that I heard you and I plan to give this A LOT of thought...

And that is it for now. Xaljio is repacking the game for ANDROID at the moment, so as soon as that is done, I will make another post and maybe talk some more about some things..."

i like the idea of shorter update more often, than wait years for big update. cant complain about a small update, as with akabur, even a small shit is still enjoyable

@coconuts. I agree. I love all of Akaburs games and enjoy every single one of them.
And small Upates works for me too. It doesn't have to be a new Episode. Maybe only new Quests or costumes would work perfectly.

I also was a patreon. But I lost fate in akabur a little after Witch Trainer. It was enjoyable but not very good. However, Akaburs art is still one of it's kind and Space Channel 34 took too long. And when I read Xaljio... I am still waiting for Iris Quest. I still can remember that Akabur received way over 15k bucks on Patreon but lost so many patreons after Witch Trainer because of the disappointment.
Still, enjoyable visual novels.

The amount of entitled whining in this thread reminds me of the identical whiners commenting on the shows in-game.

Just finished the 2nd episode and I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed Star Chanel 34.
Every Akabur game has been an improvement on the former. They’ve all been very grindy but this time around it’s being kept to a reasonable level. Even more importantly this time around it’s far more clear how extensive the grind is with episode numbers and such. The menu system also makes it far more playable and enjoyable.
There’s a lot of moaning in the comments about the lack of porn in the game. While this is a valid complaint it’s not a particularly big difference from Akabur’s earlier games which were also very sparse with handing out the smut. The most notable scenes were even chibi-style so there’s not much difference there. So if you’re playing SC34 hoping for some grade A fapping material you’re going to be disappointed. In my mind you play Akabur games for the humor, something that’s being done very well here.

Something that could be improved is some kind of feedback system on the girls mood and the impact of dialogue choices. While there are some choices that indicate “Alexis respects you more” or “Hermione is upset with you” I’m not even sure if these are genuine flags or self-referential humor. Heck I don’t even know if the dialogue choices have any impact at all, so I’m just going for the most humorous options. With this comes the fear that you might be missing out on something however, and given its grindy nature the game does not lend itself easily to replaying.

All in all I’m looking forward to future updates

Obviously the 'proper' way to do it is to put Genie into their game worlds, so he'll have sex with Hermoine as Dumbledore, and sleep with Jasmine as the old man.

that will be hard for ashelin and the bot (lola) . i think the best way will be to make genie become another "star" of the channel , just like the girls. so that he can make scene with them for business and pleasure (as he dominate/control them now )

I finally got around to playing the update. I think the last 30 minutes of it were probably the best - the last 2 or 3 LOLA quests where she explains the actual mission and sheds some light on everything. I don't think this game is nearly as grindy as people make it out to be. The only thing you have to grind for is money and popularity stars (about 1 minute of rapid clicking can fuel 30 minutes of questing, which is not bad at all). And both money and stars are easily circumvented by 'gold' and 'stars' console variables in a way that blends perfectly into the game and doesn't disrupt or sacrifice the flow of the story at all. The way that each episode has a "[##/10]" counter next to it in Episode 1 doesn't mean anything at all. There is no reward for doing it more than once. This is why Episode 2 removed those counters completely. I loved all the new LOLA content in-particular. The "new" character for EP2 I didn't care about but her backstory was interesting, at least. Anyway, it was bretty gud. Justified my patronage. It took about 5 hours to go through EP1 and EP2.
