There are 3 ways to approach the underwater region:
-increase air with books and the artifact. You will suffer from the stat debuff and the 3 times cost on mana and health for skills, but you could face tank your way through possibly. I don't recommend it as it will also cost tons of mana to open all the short cuts with fire II but it lets you have another enhance spell
-learn air bubble yourself, air bubble I is more than enough, not sure who would ever need the II variant
-level the slime to 7 and morph it to air, pretty good as it costs 2 days less in learning time than learning it yourself and lets you have another enhance spell. Also storm is good on some phys-resistant enemies.

Indeed I see no reason not to go for the slime route, in my NG+ normal run I basically have a level 7-10 slime with just air morph for this reason

You would need more air. So you could increase it by reading a book from Nephlune, buying an artefact in Verdeaux, learning Air Bubble yourself in the Academy, or raising Air Slime strong enough for it to learn Air Bubble. Also, there is another way to get to the location further but it would need a lot of gold, and you would ignore all benefits of the lake location.

Ok, so teaching, or rather finding a "teacher" for the slime to learn Bubble 1 seems to be the most reasonable route.

You don't need teachers for slime learning skills. You just need to open transformation to the necessary elemental slime (in this case Wind Slime, learnt in Nephlune) and make it reach needed level for such skill. Slime learns skills itself by reaching new levels.

Yeah, I think the learning with a "teacher" or whatever it's called is only needed to be... affectionate? Sort of bonding if you catch my drift. Anyway, thank for point the direction out. So much new towns and places popped up suddenly that I didn't know anymore where to go first

How deep did you go in maid scenes? There is some hope if you resisted the suggestions of Arwin, but if you gave up in these scenes, then you defined the fate of Aura.

I did all of the scenes and gave in. I then went with the nobel who pays you to pretend to be his gf instead since I couldnt figure it out.

Does the route make a difference in the story later? Or does the route only matter for the festival?

Actually, you can work the first two days if you decide to resist the first blowjob. That's when you really need all your willpower to resist. Later when you find Arwin, the game will display a check for your lewdness level, but there is also another hidden checks on a stat: Skill > Magic > Perversion: Obedient Maid x ##. The score displayed here represents your obedience to Arwin. If you went to work at his mansion preparing for the festival and didn't resist the first blowjob, you're completely doomed. I made the same mistake the first time with a score of 22, thinking that if the demoness Luciela could only managed to slightly alter Aura's behavior by directly accessing her subconscious, the drug wouldn't stop her from crushing them both like flies on turd. Fatal error, try again. Did you see until the end? Have you seen what happens to Charlotte, Paul(?), Luciela/Alicia and the others of course?

Yeah if you did every arwin maid scene and submitted every time I think the bad-end check is supposed to be impossible to pass.
There are no "routes" in this game really, just choices and consequences that may happen for them (often involving $$$). Even the maid+festival willpower bit is ultimately a numerical check.
If by "route" you mean the person you use to get into the festival, it isn't some sort of huge story changing thing. Hermann lets you go with him "free" if you do the date thing, if you use Edwin that consumes the favor that he owes you for 3k gold. BUT you can still do Herman's events later even if you don't use him to go to the festival. Edwin is involved in 1 or maybe 2 more quests later on but your decision here doesn't affect that.

For the Mount Firestorm the most necessary spell is Water Skin. Preferably Water Skin II, but Water Skin I could also help. And also consumables to return health.

Black Priestess in Trademond should teach you Shadowcloak if you ask. Could you describe it more what happens when you try to talk with her?

Water skin II and Splash are useful. The water element coating is a good alternative to splash.
With water skin II you can have 0 damage on normal tiles and like 3-5 damage on intermediate tiles, but the lava ones will always do tons of damage.

Do this dungeon last thing on the day if you have extra lfie and mana, slowly grinding your way through. Don't waste consumables on it before having a proper setup. I don't recommend wasting ropes or bombs on shortcuts in the overworld part as it's fairly easy to get through it and unlock a better shortcut later.

You don't spend a day to upgrade stats unlike Workshop. And it's cost doesn't increase with each use.

Yeah but they are NEVER worth it on normal, you will run out of money before the cost of upgrades matches elixirs.

And when you get the artificier quest done you get 1 upgrade extra per day, again making elixir useless. By day 200, 1 Blessed water still only costs 650, so the 2k cost of elixir is not really worth the time saved

It seems to me they are worthless for a pure normal run, on a lewd run you can get free elixirs so that changes the dynamic
