I'm out of the loop is this a re-titled project? Whats making this a scam other than production time (and IP usage)? Is this just asset packs, if so got links?
Its a scam cause he literally makes one of these claims he is going to work on it & crap. Gets peoples money then closes the project and moves onto the next under a new name with the same assests or new assests they find online. Thats literally it.

guys, do ya ever even tried to make a game looking like AAA game just by yourself? by one person? or making art? concepts? coding the game? 3d models? etc?

it's not a fast, easy thing to do.

Cyberpunk was created for 7 years, team
GTA VI if they launch it soon, more than 13 years, much larger team

ok if ya want examples from Star Wars franchise. . .

Respawn Ent. and Jedi Survivor, ok 3 years, but they have the base for this game (Fallen Order) and publisher, they have licences, they have budget much much much bigger than StarLord Games have, everything from EA company, they have a team, and what they have is enough to make and launch the game after 3 years,

it's not that simple like making and launching the game on RPGM or Ren'Py, cuz it's much easier to build a game on that, but ya know what this game will look like.

It is to be expected that the "it's a scam" posters have resurfaced. It's been an awful long time and thus far only one update.

There is no real cure for it other than regular updates coming out. They don't need to be big updates, just a sign of progress.

is there something to do now ? I couldn't interact with anything
So far this is just a graphics and controls test, which has already revealed some problems that will be solved in the next updates so that you can keep busy with the game and not be distracted by bugs (well, some especially gifted individuals of course will not understand this), and the opportunity to get a little familiar with the starting location. In future updates, there will be opportunities to interact with NPCs, quests, trade and other interesting things.

A , I need your opinion.
i think the besto option for this game is to make 2D map, like in KOTOR games, or Battlefront games ya don't really need to show the player by telling him "oh hi gamer, there's a corridor hidden here, to finalize the mission" or "oh hi gamer, if ya go to this corridor, there's a hidden locker there" let player to go general direction, and explore the place. . .

I would favour a 2d map with topographical shading (that is, lighter colours for higher altitude ala SWTOR)

For levels of significant elevation difference, it can be handled with layered 2d maps.

This should be much simpler to implement than a 3d map, and will be much cleaner

The most important part though is for the player and points of interest (vendors, quest markers etc.) are clear and easy to find and navigate to.

The "there's a corridor here to finalize the mission" is exactly what the map absolutely needs. It would be pretty worthless without it (not everyone likes exploring, hence the need for a map in the first place)

Hidden easter eggs are fine for those who do (the "hidden locker"), but hiding mission critical items and locations is good way of just annoying players

That's cute. Whatever this is, it is NOT a AAA game. What a lazy argument lmao.

Still vapor.

yeah ok, maybe i wrote it not exaclty clear, cause what ya said about about finalize the mission, is what i wanted to say,
what i meant was, "don't lead the player the way, by the hand" if ya know what i mean, don't treat a player like an idiot that needs to have everything shown like a retard...

cause yeah obviously, hiding main quest checkpoint from the player is not a good, idea, but let say maybe not hiding, but don't telling exactl location of the place, for example side quest checkpoint is not that bad. . . i mean yeah it will make player to explore a little bit, but, exploration is that bad? i don't think so,

in Jedi Academy there's a secret areas that player can't find if he didn't explore just a little bit,
this game is a good exapmle, of how to make a good game with a little bit of exploration, GoW Ragnarok is good example too or Chronicles of Myrtana for example, is doing really good work with hiding easter eggs and some items/stuff that player can need, not exaclty must have

one question, did ya really read my post here? or did ya just see "AAA game" and was too lazy or too triggered to read the whole post, and made an assumption that i am calling this game an AAA game?

ayysheilyee, that's right, I also think that the player should be allowed to find some caches and easter eggs himself, without drawing a huge "come here!" in front of him! Perhaps the first caches should be made explicit enough to be easy to find, but thereby interest the player in exploring other, more difficult places.

Gonna go ahead and throw my hat into the big debate:
I think the point is that StarLord Games did their best to create a game that wasn't 'just' your average homebrew, but something that is really good. But when you try to do something like that, it does tend to take time. And in this case, comparing it to 'official' games is actually valid, as the vision for this game is rather similar to those ones - minus the smut, of course ;) And when you consider just how long it can take for a team to create a game of this sort, what SLG did is far from shabby.
And as far as the graphics go, this game is really good, especially when you take into consideration that it's not just a bunch of static images. Judgement's still out on how the story and everything else will play out, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'm optimistic about that, because if nothing else, StarLord Games actually does put in the work.
So yeah, I find the argument that the dev claims to work on this and then doesn't do shit to be utter nonsense, because he clearly did. The images which AFAIK make up a good chunk of this thread are proof for that, as far as I'm concerned.
Yes, there is no actual content to speak of. But again, the world for a game like this (background, buildings etc) doesn't come from nowhere, either, and again, the quality of said world is surprisingly good, too. Honestly, from where I'm standing, I don't see too much of a difference between the character design for SWPoL and that of, say, Squadrons.
Now, would I have been satisfied with worse graphics, and more stuff to do? Yeah, I would've been. But that's not my call to make, because I'm neither the dev nor a patreon, so I reckon my opinion doesn't matter too much.
So how about we wait and see where the game goes before raising a ruckus again, huh?

Oh, and on a sidenote, I would prefer a 2D map ;) Though some general hints for where quests lead you would be a good idea.

I think that it could be markers on the screen that mark the direction in which to go or a compass like in Skyrim and similar games. Anyway, I planned something similar.
